Weights up, scales down…

Man my triceps have been super sore the last few days. Only thing I can think of is the JM press that I have not really done that I can think of. Did that followed by dips, must be activating part of the muscle I have been before.

JM Press will annihilate the triceps with the overload they create. Blakley’s advice for someone new to them was keep them lighter/higher reps for a while to help the tricep tendons better adapt. There’s a lot of freedom in what kind of range of motion you use, but the important thing to remember is it’s not just a tricep extension - there is a definite pressing element as well, like a hybrid.

At one point, JM did 530 for a triple on this exercise.

I was watching elite FTS YouTube with JM walking through the exercise and I definitely need to improve my form. I guarantee I was dropping my elbows to much.

You can if you want to make it more of a closegrip bench, but then you have to ask yourself why you are doing that vs just closegripping if you want the focus on the long head. JM did this movement to strengthen his elbows/tricep tendons, so keeping tension in them is the goal.

Something a lot of guys have done is use the EliteFTS yoke bar with the handles removed - you only drop the lower arms enough to touch the pads, then roll the bar back over the chin as you bend the elbow. I know you don’t have access to one, but if you watch a video of that it can give you an idea.

This variation has produced results for a lot of people, so it’s definitely an effective pattern.

Got the oil changed in the GMC today. Also had to take off a rear wheel and see what was squeaky back there. Plate that the disk brakes set into slid out and was touching the rim causing the god awful noise. Fixed that and then since I put on newer rims and tires that are smaller I turned my torsion bars out some, rides so much smoother now.

Next up I need to do a rear pinon seal and drain and replace rear diff fluid and re seal housing.

What yr is gmc? I know you mentioned when we were talking dodge Cummins but I forgot. Got my eye on a 2014 Denali 3500 w. DirtyMax guy wants 22k

Cats eye headlights r a good look!
It’s actually an odd one it still has the older lights. One thing I do like that they did pull 2 pins whole headlight assembly comes out to change bulbs!

if I ever get a shop and lots of time I’d like to find a 3/4 ton frame to swap out and do a solid front axle conversion. Then find me an older delivery truck with a 4bt Cummins to swap in. Probably never happen but would be fun.

I bought the old girl in 06 I think maybe 07. Either way I have had it a while. This popped up in my photo memories from 2012 lol

Nice! Love how on the GMC the bumper/grill dip down.
have u had to do cab corners and rockers?
Nope where I had this back then no one used salt on roads. Now different story where I’m at now. Also it sat most of the time while I had work trucks. To date it has 108,000 on the odometer

Drove into Minnesota today and explored a pretty neat state park, there was a Buffalo herd right by us across the game fence. Invalid Link Removed

I had a 98 Sierra 1500 HEAVY half w the 6.5 Detroit Diesel, hooker red w stacks. Sold it for a 97 2door Tahoe black and totally stock. Must have been a fleet vehicle as the passenger and rear seats still had the plastic on them. Sellers regret on both

Might've missed this, but how long have you been using pine pollen? I have some that I've been hesitant to try, just because I have some seasonal allergies.

you didn't ask me but I really liked pine pollen. I feel it improved my skin (like more youthful in the face, crows feet seemed to disappear) and libido boost. but the only reason I don't have stock on it now is because I question the quality of the sources I had encountered, and it was very very messy/hard to dose conveniently. I'd gladly bring it back into my daily regiment if I found a source I liked.

long story short, curious about how you're taking it @akboom87

This is like week 4 now. Using SNS pine pollen.

I have enjoyed it of course I’m stacked with m-test but have enjoyed the higher libido! Also sort of an experiment along with the PEA relief. I don’t really have allergies and can’t say I’ve noticed any difference in that department. Not sure if that answers much for you 😂

I want to play with the dosing of it so going to order another bottle of pine pollen.
Next round is going to be
PEA relief
Pine pollen
Pepti Plex

thats awesome I didn't even realize Steve had a pine pollen product. caps are the way to go. Mine was always powder and it was a horrible mess.

Kind of humbling and bleh day. Are company cut a division that was not performing and a few other divisions got trimmed a few from my office. So it was kinda an odd day (even though I wasn’t in office I was out in the field). I feel for the guys and there families.

Hate hearing about that. Glad you are still standing. My company doesn’t “lay off” the just “diffuse your position”. It’s not a peanut butter and jelly it’s a jelly and peanut butter

Yeah it’s never fun to hear. I feel like there is more to come but time will tell. I don’t know might just me but I get the 08/09 vibes all over again with everything.

This meso cycle i have screwed up i set it up for m-f my first mistake. I missed one day last week and didn’t get it made up on Saturday. So I made that up Monday,(should have just skipped that day and rest back to monday) Today was bench again and I just didn’t have it, i was dragging ass and did some half assed work.

so I will salvage what I can the rest of this week and set up a meso to re start next week. I just got to stick to my 4 day programming.

subbed - will be following along

Yesterday the fatigue was just getting the best of me tired and sore all day, originally planned to hit the gym in this morning but I was out and didn’t even try to get up.

don’t seem to be sick or anything but have been back in the field the last 2 weeks. This week was weird Monday was 70 degrees out and then Tuesday cold front hit snow and 30’s then Wednesday morning 3 degrees. It was miserable.

plan on a session tomorrow, then contemplating if I should do a de load week then jump back to a meso or just form a new meso and start Monday.

Also for the month of February I have been re establishing maintenance, over maintenance as well. Previously I was on average 223-225 this month I have been 225-228.
Starting in March I will go back to a deficit. My next goal is to get 200-205 body weight.

Well this week has been for the birds. Late night last night at work couldn’t get up just been tired this week. So yeah this week has been a bust.

I did order Pepti plex and the old CEL pct assist.

Deadlifts were great feeling really good about them and man what a sweat fest. Also felt pretty good one of the gym regulars that’s been there before I started at this gym came up and complimented me on my deads and how I have progressed. Was pretty unexpected but felt great hearing that!
