Volcom's, Controlled Labs' - Look good in dem BLUE GENE(s), Sponsored Log

Grass N Ass... You're Taiwanese right? Do you live anywhere near Fremont?

No, I lived in Azusa, or little mejico for the last 3 years and now I'm in La Verne, which has statues and memorabilia honoring its Cowboy roots.

It's all Los Angeles County, but still a good 20 min, no traffic drive to the Downtown Area. Fremont sounds Downtown'ish.

Oh - my bad... Fremont is actually near San Jose - didn't know you were from LA area.

I have family in Laguna. I'm out there about twice a year or more.

Laguna is a rich area, their parking meters take credit cards, seriously, it tripped me out when I saw that.

I'm having Crunchy Spicy Tuna Rolls and Shrimp Tempura Rolls for lunch, poor me.

However, I just realized that I grabbed an empty vitamin dispenser box, which means my Blue GENE is at home. I normally drive straight to school after work, but I'll have to shoot home first to take my BG, then make my way to school. I don't get out until 10:00pm, so this is my only option.

Damn morning confusion!

Turn that frustration into rage. Then turn that rage against the weights. It's fodder for the fire! :smite:

Think is... you know you gotta go get it.. otherwise you get the anti-placebo workout, which is as bad as the placebo workout is good.

I have to go home and grab it for the integrity of my run, really. But true, anti-placebo effect is a real symptom, almost as bad as a no-supplement placebo, after coming off a supplement or worse yet, coming off a stack.

It's the unnecessary gas usage that kills me, I'm okay on time.

I did end up making the excessive trip to grab my Blue GENE last night in order to keep the integrity of my run, and I worked out at the school gym last night.

This morning I weighed 214.4lbs fully clothed, minus shoes (I used the scale at school, so I couldn't strip down), so I may be a pound or so less, around 212-213lbs, however, I look and feel bigger. I don't just look and feel bigger to myself, but most of my re-evaluation of my size have been derived from the comments of other people. My clothes have been fitting a little tighter (which could very well be a laundry issue, which is generally my first assumptions), however, a wide range of random people have been making comments on my recent size. I'm used to this situation when I'm intentionally bulking or I am aware of the fact that I have let my diet slide, but my diet in terms of calories have been subpar and my food choices aren't cutting clean, but respectably clean.

Side note: My traps are notably larger, greater peak, more prevalent contour and perceivable separation through a shirt.

I hit back last night and it was pretty good. My strength and muscle endurance is maintaining, but my libido is still at baseline, no more excessive randy'ness.

I kind of enjoyed the ultra heightened libido, because a strong sense of well being seemed to come with it, but then when I couldn't see my girlfriend it was just Blue Balls, USA, so, love/hate.

werd up Volcom!

Bolas Azules = No bueno, fo shizz.

Sometimes the libido rush would hit so intense that it was more like dark purple balls.

I just got my latest JOURNAL OF STRENGTH & CONDITIONING RESEARCH. It's basically a few hundred pages of multiple research topics related to S&C. I'll browse through the journal and see if there is anything interesting enough to post, but just the title and conclusion. Most of it is interesting, but a lot of it obviously deals with athletes and sports performance, but sometimes they have research simply regarding resistance training and have muscle building (bodybuilding applicable) findings.

Another strong workout. My strength is solid and the improved & improving muscle endurance is still prevalent. I've really been enjoying my uber high volume bi's routine and it seems I need less and less rest time between (isolation) exercises. I've really been able to bring my rest time intensity up without it being too much of a challenge.

Bi's <1 min rest between each set from beginning to end.

Machine, Preacher Curls
100lbs x 15 reps
110lbs x 12 reps
120lbs x 10 reps
130lbs x 8 reps
130lbs x 8 reps
130lbs x 7 reps
120lbs x 8 reps
110lbs x 8 reps
100lbs x 8 reps

Hammer, Preacher Curls
70lbs x 12 reps
75lbs x 12 reps
80lbs x 10 reps
85lbs x 10 reps
90lbs x 8 reps
95lbs x 8 reps
90lbs x 8 reps
85lbs x 8 reps
80lbs x 8 reps
75lbs x 8 reps
70lbs x 8 reps

Barbell Reverse Curls
45lbs x 12 reps
45lbs x 12 reps
45lbs x 10 reps
45lbs x 10 reps
45lbs x 8 reps
45lbs x 8 reps

Cable, One Arm Reverse Curls
60lbs x 12 reps
60lbs x 10 reps
60lbs x 8 reps
60lbs x 8 reps

Cable, High Curls
50lbs x 15 reps (felt a spasm in my right bi, which means time to stop)

The Cable, High Curls were going to be my last exercise anyway. Again, I didn't set out to create an extraordinarily voluminous workout, I mean I did, but not to this extent. Everything after the Hammer, Preacher curls were an inadvertent result of feeling plenty fresh & energized, still with too much gas in the tank to put it in park; not only in my actual biceps, but just general stamina was still too elevated to call it quits.

I just filled out a form to have this month's issue that you're speaking of just getting sent to me to see if I want to subscribe to it or not.

I believe I've seen research involving Kettle Bells in previous journals.

That sounds cool. I'm actually studying to get my full personal trainer cert. now so any more information could never hurt ya know? :)

I am learning through someone that I respect and trust far more than any ACE or ASCM type company out there. It's making me happy to be learning and growing...literally, haha. I figure if I need to get another type of cert. just to take up wall space afterwards, I will.

No disrespect to ACE or ASCM cert holders, but the the NSCA is where its at. You should try for a CSCS since you're into the Kettle Bell route, albeit the CSCS test is at least four times as hard as any personal trainer cert, but KB's are primed for performance power training and that's right up your ally.

I'm considering getting an NSCA-CPT for the hell of it. Either way, best of luck! Let me know if you ever need any info regarding a CSCS.

yah i'm sure we'll be in touch about that. The personal trainer cert i'm taking will be 44 times as hard as the normal ones so I would be willing to accept the challenge of the cscs test i'm sure :)

haha, 44 times is pretty damn hard. Is it a trainer cert test or a Medical Practitioners License?

Good luck!

I bet you get a lot of crazy looks from people with all those curls youre doin

hahaha i'm not too concerned. This man is very precise in everything he teaches..and he will make sure that I do not pass unless I am perfectly 100% ready to pass. That's what I mean by 44 times as hard. I have personally known many trainers that aren't as knowledgable as they should be to have someone's full physical health in their hands for 1-5 hours a week, haha.

John will make sure I am fully ready to teach anyone and everyone before I am granted a certificate...I will also have to teach a class beforehand as well...and a bunch of other wild things :)

Impressive course! Comprehensive and hands on, that's the way to go! That sounds like a guy who's seriously dedicated to his skill, and I can see how that out classes most trainer certification tests!

A lot of trainers know their shite, and a lot don't. This trainer at the L.A. Fitness I go to had the nerve to hold a "nutrition seminar" on a bodybuilding vegetarian diet. I'm not sure if anyone went and I haven't seen him since.

I forgot you need a Kines degree or related field to get a CSCS

At this time of night it just seems to be high school kids at my gym, and they just huddle around and talk like they're in the school quad during lunch.

I actually was just reading up on it and saw that you need a bachelor's or at least be a senior in the program to sit on the test. That is not so much a requirement that I can meet.

ugh dont even get me started on those punkass b1tches. This one big dood threw a 45 at one of those groups of kids about a year ago because they were standing around in the way. Pretending to use a bench but actually just conversing over it. The dood that threw the weight was escorted out but he was all our hero.

Well you've got the Kettle Bell thing going for ya, and that's got performance enhancement written all over it

tell that guy I know some people he needs to chat with :bruce2:

One of them sported his new mohawk to the gym today and he was the bell of the ball. Nothing against the Hawk, just the Prom Queen demeanor he was walking around with.

was it faux or the real deal?

Sweeeet mother of god what volume you're training with now ! well, not so much volume-per-set, but rather the sheer amount of sets you do !

Do you pick you exercises accordingly, or you just go by feel !?

Real deal. He's got the face of a kid who would be on the Andy Griffith Show, real basic hair dew and everything, then today, he's got the sides shaved to the skin except the hawk. I guess he met some people he knew from school at the gym, cause they all just congregated and talked, and he was the prettiest girl at the dance apparently.

I pick the exercises accordingly, but I progress in sets by feel. If I am able (in a respective repetition range), then I continue.
