It totally sucks, but Brock's MMA offensive wrestling isn't very good as far as TD's are concerned. He does very little to mask his bull charge TD's, where he drops his head and charges at you rather then a bullet like power shot and I think JDS would have lit him up with combos were Brock in his dangerous TD range. Brock's best chance at getting JDS down would have been to press him up against the cage and do a scoop, imo. However, had Brock successfully executed a TD that ended in any form of top control, then that would have been a long night for JDS. Overall, I favored JDS in that fight.
As for Carwin, I've actually not watched much of his fights. The last Carwin fights I watched were Carwin/Mir and Carwin/Brock. I just know he's comfortable standing and he KO's people like a mofo. Granted, JDS is the much more technical and dynamic striker, but Carwin only needs one good shot and its lights out, so he always has a chance.
I was listening to a Rashad Evans interview when he talked about sparring with Carwin once, he said they were going relatively soft and when Carwin threw a left, he missed Rashad's head, but it connected with his chest. Rashad said at first he was like, "aw he missed me," but a second later he took a step back and thought, "damn, am I sure he missed?" Cause all his air went and he thought Carwin had cracked his sternum with a half speed left.
Even though Brock defeated Carwin, I favor Carwin in a match against JDS or Cain, though I predict we will see Cain and JDS in the championship fight.
