Volcom's Androlean & Androhard Log

Man I can't believe this bro I just happen to catch this by reading your thread, and you know as we spoke before Brock is my favorite since I'm a huge WWE fan and loved him then. Him and GSP are my top 2. This def sucks, and i just pray he get's it straighten out as his family needs him. I can't believe I miss this log bro, sorry but def interested to read up on your thoughts, as i'm about to stack hard/lean as well. Take care my friend.

Damn shame... Brock was a rare breed of a physical specimen.

Solid final review bruther! You leaned out very nicely and the increase in definition is great! Awesome work man! And thanks for the log

Brock will be fine in his personal life. His diverculitis is treatable at his point. It's his fighting career that's most threatened by this, more so then his day to day normal living. I didn't know his diverculitis could re-inflame and that makes it a big problem, because having to pull out of a fight or camp due to a re-inflammation could happen at anytime it seems and that makes for an ambiguous fighting career. Not to mention he's already in the position of playing catch up in terms of his MMA experience and these long term sit outs aren't helping that at all.

It's kinda funny, but look at how fast the UFC HW division became really thin again.

Yeah, he was The UFC's great white hype both financially and as an aspect for the perceived depth of the HW division. I didn't really look at it like that until you brough that up and yeah, the division seemingly dries up drastically when you remove Brock. Now you have CAIN, JDS as the ruling class and everyone else is far beneath.

The UFC absorbing SF's HW division couldn't come sooner.

Carwin still has a solid punchers chance with his power, but how badly he gassed out makes me hesitant to really give him a top spot.

Carwin always has a punchers chance for sure, but I consider him in the margin right after Cain, JDS and the rest of the HW division. I think Carwin dominates everyone short of Cain, JDS. I'll won't be shocked if Carwin manages to defeat JDS, but I will be surprised.

Very nice thread!

PCT Notes

I'm a few days into PCT and I'm still making gains. Whatever foundational strength I achieved from my AH/AL run has not diminished in the slightest. Today's chest day was fantastic. No sense in a detriment of strength, but some lifts are still moving up in fact.

Bump dude for real?? lol The UFC needs some hard ass balls to the wall new fighters and I vote Volcom to step up to the plate!!!!

**** one viscous, tank walking, brickhouse welling, jaw breaking Asian kick ass lhw!!! If you took your inensity of your training routines and applied to the ring, I'd bet my job, truck, hell anything I had that you'd make a good run at it.

Lol, yeah right, I'd be LHW at the moment anyway :stooges:

That seems to be a common theme with these products... pretty crazy. No idea why it's so common.

Hell, at your current weight, you're closer to a MW than a LHW.

On that note, I'm enjoying my new BW. I went overboard with the pull ups today out of sheer appreciation that i can perform pull ups with relative ease now.

GHETTO FITNESS

Chins x 4 sets
Behind The Neck Pull Ups x 4 sets
Underhand Grip Pull Ups x 4 sets
Wide Parallel Bar Pull Ups x 4 sets
Close Grip [thumbs touching] Pull Ups x 3 sets
Hammer Pull Downs x 4 sets

4 mile run outside.

What kind of personal problems is Brock having? I was wondering if anything got released?

I love the ghetto fitness.

I think Carwin could beat JDS pretty easy. I see it at a pretty close margin. 60/40 JDS victory but decision or submission. Carwins power again Mir and Lesner was crazy. I was shocked to see Carwin in the un-aired prelims before he got bumped up to this fight.

His diviculitis(sp?) re-inflammed. He has to make the decision of getting surgery for it to truly move on with his career as a fighter or have it treated again, which is more like a bandaid effect and risk it re-inflamming yet again, when he undergoes the mental and physical stress of a camp/fight.

^^^More productive than people realize.

Awesome workout and 4 miles after that is pretty sick!

Thats too bad Brock is out, I really was looking forward to that fight. From the first time I saw JDS hit the pads a few days before I called he would knock out werdum and be a furture champ, I hope it happends! His hands are really good, just don't know how he would deal with Brock or Carwin's wrestling.

It totally sucks, but Brock's MMA offensive wrestling isn't very good as far as TD's are concerned. He does very little to mask his bull charge TD's, where he drops his head and charges at you rather then a bullet like power shot and I think JDS would have lit him up with combos were Brock in his dangerous TD range. Brock's best chance at getting JDS down would have been to press him up against the cage and do a scoop, imo. However, had Brock successfully executed a TD that ended in any form of top control, then that would have been a long night for JDS. Overall, I favored JDS in that fight.

As for Carwin, I've actually not watched much of his fights. The last Carwin fights I watched were Carwin/Mir and Carwin/Brock. I just know he's comfortable standing and he KO's people like a mofo. Granted, JDS is the much more technical and dynamic striker, but Carwin only needs one good shot and its lights out, so he always has a chance.

I was listening to a Rashad Evans interview when he talked about sparring with Carwin once, he said they were going relatively soft and when Carwin threw a left, he missed Rashad's head, but it connected with his chest. Rashad said at first he was like, "aw he missed me," but a second later he took a step back and thought, "damn, am I sure he missed?" Cause all his air went and he thought Carwin had cracked his sternum with a half speed left.

Even though Brock defeated Carwin, I favor Carwin in a match against JDS or Cain, though I predict we will see Cain and JDS in the championship fight.

JDS vs Cain would be awesome, I feel Cain will hold the title for awhile, he has crazy heart, the guy just doesn't wanna stop, but once Alistair comes into play with the UFC I really think he will dominate, can't wait to see some StrikeForce VS UFC fights. Mayhem vs Simpson should be a good one. Love em or hate em Mayhem is entertaining lol

Fedor is supposedly fighting Dan Henderson at a catchweight. It's kinda the only option for both of them since Fedor is out of the tournament and Hendo doesn't have a challenger for his title. You can't leave really big names like that on the shelf for too long.

That about sums it up. I have Fedor in that fight.

totally agreed. EOD atm I'm doing a pullup workout. It feels great.

I've been killing the pull ups. I did another pull ups dominated back day, primarily because I'm in the mood for it and also, because my workout partner is having some low back issues.

Ran 6 miles this morning in 60 min. PCT is still going strong, strength is still sustaining.

That about sums it up. I have Fedor in that fight.

Fedor is at such a dis-advantage against larger opponents and yet he still manages to pull extrordinary performances, but I think he absolutely dominates smaller sized opponents; randleman, coleman, cro-crop, lindland.. With the bigger guys he totaly didnt just wade through them or handle them. Id like to see Fedor finish his career as a light heavy and eventually challenge for the belt in ufc.

As much as I share in that same sentiment, but as long as M1 remains in control of Fedor's career, Fedor will retire before fighting in the UFC octagon.

That is some serious pull-ups bruther.

:yup: I'm on a pull ups kick for the time being. I may decide to hit back twice a week, so I have a day dedicated to thickness, but for the time being, I'm responding well to my ghetto fitness routine.

he Ghetto fitness routine is hardcore I must say :)

hahaha I remember when I was training for the marine PFT my back width shot-up like crazy from adding a ton of pullups to my routine.

Thats too bad, but he'll still go down as a legend in the sport.

And btw, your a freaking pull up machine! Id love to give gravity the middle finger and bang out the pull ups like you.

I've been enjoying my pull ups dominated routine, because historically, I'm a very variation of rows dominated type of guy.

Thanks Rulk. I'm hoping to come back from Taiwan without having caused too much damage. They do have an Adidas Olympic Center in walking distance from where I'll be staying the majority of the time, but I tried working out last time I was there and that 16hour time difference is a serious ass kicker in of itself.
