Unacceptable: Why something needs to be done.

"Locally grown" or food from local farmers is more about reducing one's carbon footprint by supporting agriculture in one's own area. It does not imply any degree of "organic-ness" unless specifically stated.

I find it hard to buy organic produce knowing that I am still inhaling toxins in the air, drinking them in the water and having them creep into my body from a million other angles. I support the concept totally..but then I also work towards having a clean environment.

Yeah... You're right. I know it's not organic if it's locally grown (unless it says it is, but even then...). Jersey tomatoes are unbeatable.

If the price's are comparable, I'll get organic. If not, then I will get a good quality product that's not certified.

A lack of government oversight is not the problem. If anything, government regulations stifle research and development, investment and are governed by bureaucracy and cronyism instead of science and a general concern for the public's well being.

The free market can provide an answer to this problem if and when entrepreneurs see a need and step up to the plate. (Or when consumers start to impact the bottom line on the companies through litigation.)

Consumer protection agencies, unhampered by government regulation, can fulfill the role of watchdog. Imagine a magazine or e-zine that publishes information about companies' safety and testing protocols.

Perhaps a scientist and entrepreneur would be interested in buying the appropriate testing equipment to start his/her own testing company. Supplement resellers could purchase the list of the safe compounds. There are many opportunities for entrepreneurs to make money. Go forth and get started!

When consumers demand safe products, they will have it. It is the nature of the market.
 
Just an update. I have a few large companies on board so far. We are putting some things in place to make this thing a reality. I just want you to know that I will ALWAYS be on the consumer's side when it comes to health. I will keep everyone updated on progression. Once we get things in place we can work together to get this implemented at as many places as possible.

Just so you know this was a much faster and better response than I had hoped for.
 
YEAHYA!!! keep at it lake, I for one apprecciate the businesses that have the consumer at te forefront of their mind when dealing with supplementation as opposed to the size of thier wallet alone.

Cant wait to see what comes of this and hope things contine to gain momentum and this dream becomes a reality.
 
Awesome work Lake, everyone can take a fatalists’ approach: “the air we breathe is polluted, the soil is contaminated so what difference does it make if the supplements are contaminated too? It doesn't mean much in the overall scheme of things”....I think worrying about things you can’t change is useless, we should focus our energy on things we can change because even a little step forward is still a step FORWARD ! :thumbsup:

Well this would kind of screw up my whole 'no need for embalming fluid', so it's another final expense on my family when I go tits up.
 
And let's get the FDA to re-allow GHB and analogues/precursors back into the market! Something does need to be done!
