When are the final measurements being posted mate?

I've enjoyed this log, especially the test booster of the day ;)

Day 24

Thoughts on IGF-2:

Woke up for the last day of my log feeling breezy and good :) DOMS are gone (as usual) and I was just beginning to get that 'pumped' look upon rising (late effect of IGF-2 use?).

Libido is on fire today! I think the anticipation of flying out tonight is making the mind wander...;)

Skipped the morning cardio, everything is about the deads today...

I was disappointed by my performance this time last week in the gym, so I was determined today to destroy the session.

Measurements (these were taken on Monday but saved for today).

Chest: 40.50" (+0.50")
Waist: 32.00" (no change)
Right Upper Arm Circumference: 12.00" (no change)
Right Upper Leg Circumference: 22.50" (+0.25")
Right Calf Circumference: 16.30" (no change)

Pictures: (taken on Monday and saved for today).

See the end of the post.

Training: Back, Biceps and Forearms

Back

Deadlifts: 10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10 (115kg) - HELL YES! COME ON YOU LITTLE BEAUTY! :D
T-Bar Row: 7,7,7,7,7 (90kg)

Biceps

Incline DB Curl: 10,10,10,10,9,9,8,8,8 (12kg DB)

Forearms

Reverse EZ-Bar Curl: 7,7,7 (27.5 + EZ bar)
Reverse Cable Curl: 9,9,9 (40kg)
Zottman Curl: 7,6,6 (10kg DB)
Heavy Barbell Shrugs: 12,12,12 (90kg)

Thoughts on Training:

What can I say? OVER the flaming moon! :D What a way to end the log! I have to admit by the 7th set of deads I wasn't sure if I would make it but then a couple of the lads could see how hard I was pushing and starting giving me some much-appreciated encouragement to pull that weight for the last few sets.

Everything else just seemed like a breeze. My back was pumped to the max after the deads and T-bar rows. The inclined GVT-style DB curls were awesome as well for really targeting my biceps, they were flipping swole after that session! I'd recommend anyone who struggles with isolating their biceps to give these a shot.

Overall a superb session, so pleased :).

Why I chose this product:

IGF-2 is herbal, anabolic product designed to optimise increase output of two the most potent anabolic hormones: Growth Hormone and Testosterone.

It claims to (taken from Applied Nutriceuticals.com)

  • Maximized muscle hardness and fullness
  • Increased strength and endurance
  • Accelerated recovery time
  • Enhanced libido and virility

I decided to use IGF-2 for the final stages of my cut to help me maintain my strength, muscle mass and even help with fat loss through optimising hormone production.

I decided to use IGF-2 in isolation to really determine how effective is was at meeting the claims on the label.

Dosing the Product

I'll be honest there are a decent amount of pills to swallow and the heavier you are, the more you'll need to choke down. For me, it was 8 per day (150-250lbs), dosed in a 3/3/2 fashion.

I struggled initially to get the dosing protocol right, to maiximise it's effects the product must be taken on an empty stomach (especially important prior to bed). For those of you who like to knock back a shake just before hitting the sack, it might be a problem, but it wasn't an issue for me.

Sleep and Recovery

One of the main draws of this product and any other growth hormone enhancer is the improvements in sleep and recovery it delivers.

IGF-2, simply put, is THE best product I have ever used with regards to recovery. If you buy this product for one reason alone THIS IS IT.

I had 0 DOMS (delayed onset of muscle soreness) from day 3, that only resurfaced briefly when I started to dabble with overtraining. If you take the time to read through the log, you'll see that my training volume was VERY HIGH in terms of resistance training, multiple cardio sessions (HIIT and LISS), all whilst in a calorie deficit.

Aggression

IGF-2 initially spiked my aggression (in the first week of use), I certainly had more drive and intensity but this did mellow out after the second week.

Libido

My libido skyrocketed after a couple of days of use and remained that way throughout the 3 weeks. Sexual performance was definitely enhanced, normally when cutting my libido drops like a stone so this improvement was immediately noticeable.

Strength and Endurance

My strength in the gym has consistently increased throughout the 3 weeks of use. Here are just a few figures from week 1 to 3 (all figures in kg)

Week 1 ----> Week 3
Squat (GVT 80 85
Deadlift (GVT) 110 115
T-Bar Row 85 90
Stiff Leg Deadlift 100 105
Incline DB Bench 26 (DB) 30 (DB)

This is just a small selection, have a browse through the log if you want to see a bit more detail. For 3 weeks of use, 5kg increases on nearly everything I lifted was impressive.

Endurance-wise, I managed to bang out more reps consistently every session. There was definitely an improvement in my ability to complete the sessions, perform multiple exercises and supersets and even throw in cardio at the end! When all I wanted to do usually was collapse! :D

Muscle Hardness and Fullness

This was one aspect that didn't really improve for me very much, I never felt really 'full' or 'pumped' until the last few days of the cycle. Applied Nutriceuticals recommends that the product be taken for 8-10 weeks and cycled off, so perhaps 3 weeks isn't long enough for this effect to have started.

Body Composition

Here's my measurements from Day 1 to Day 21 of the cycle (all measurements in inches)

Day 1 -------> Day 21 Difference

Chest (measured at nipple level): 40.0 40.5 (+0.5")
Waist (measured at Navel): 32.5 32.0 (-0.5")
Right Mid Upper Arm Circumference: 12.0 12.0 (n/c)
Right Upper Leg Circumference: 22.0 22.5 (+0.5")
Right Calf Circumference: 16.0 16.3 (+0.3")

As you can see there was some serious recomping going on! I'm definitely leaner now than I was 3 weeks ago and lost no size in any of the 'beach muscle' areas (arms, chest etc.).

Check out the before and after pictures and make your own judgement

(white boxers are before, dark grey are after )

Overall Thoughts

IGF-2 has been a great supplement to use, for strength, libido and recovery. I've used numerous testosterone boosters in the past and have real trouble sleeping from time to time, so I know what I was experiencing wasn't a 'placebo' effect.

I think it would be a great product on a cut or a bulk, for maintaining strength and improving your recovery from session to session. It's flexibility as a supplement means that'll be using this as a staple as soon as my budget allows, that's how impressed I've been.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Applied Nutriceuticals' representative, Rosie (Guejsn), who has continued to provide unrivalled support and advice throughout my log.

Cheers to all the lads who've tagged along and posted in the log, you're all legends, a lifetime of reps coming your way :D

Nice work. IGF-2 is a favorite of mine as well. At 37 yo, I get some pretty serious and long lasting DOMS if I don't use a test or GH booster. IGF-2 fits that bill nicely so I don't have to use synthetic anabolics.

aw darn its over.....nice review man.

Cheers mate, I really enjoyed logging the product.

I think it's a nice product all-round, now if only they did a bulk discount on it...:)

Don't worry. I've got a 5 week E-stane log coming up with an AppNut-supported PCT :)

There'll be more girls and videos where that came from!

alright cool deal. let me know when and ill for sure follow along.:006:

No worries mate, a PM will be heading your way in 2 weeks time :)

If I'm lucky I might get some dermacrine in there as well (if I'm selected as a tester, but I might just throw it in there anyway as it looks cool).

Your log seems to be going well mate! Those lower abs popping yet?

Yes, IGF-2 is best taken for 8-10 weeks, Rick. And definitely "staple" material (which is what I do, and NOT looking forward to having a break from it soon).

Thank you for your log; it has been detailed and comprehensive and fun to follow.

Review was great; you definitely made some good progress (if you want to recomp, then IGF-2 is the product to use).

Good luck in future body goals :)

Ah well mate, jump on the lean bulk bandwagon and we'll kiss goodbye to that loose skin for good :)

alright cool deal. maybeill do a lean bulk entering into my straight out bulk that way most of my gains are lean at first.

I would just keep it lean all the way mate, that way you'll never have to cut for longer than a few weeks to get ripped up.

I'm done with the all-out bulks forever now, otherwise I'll never get rid of the loose skin!

yeah but i feel like I could make quicker mass gains on an all out bulk, or maybe Ill bulk all out for 6 weeks, cut for 4 and keep repeating.

That method can work, I used it once before.

I used a 2 week on (bulk - 500kcals above maintenance), 2 week off protocol (500kcal below maintenance).

Yours would definitely be a similar approach, feeling small mate after cutting? I feel like a scrawny git until I whip the top off! ;)

yeah i definitely dont fill out my shirts the best, but ive kept most of my size and like you said its all fun and games till you whip the shirt off lol

Proof that consistancy and discipline pay off.

Im sure the supps played its part but those pics and the progress is just hard work man.

Also proof that detailed logs work, in that after reading this ive ordered IGF2 which being honest before reading here never entered my mind.

Your on the plane now u bastard but awesome job, tear it up.

Consistency, discipline, and hard work are definitely important factors in reaching any [body] goal.

However, sometimes supplements DO work, regardless; IGF-2 is one of them. I'm sure you'll enjoy your time and it will be very effective using this product.

No doubt by more often than not, supplements play a very minor role in the puzzle.

  • Diet
  • Routine
  • Rest

....Supplements

I know i dont need to tell you that given your conditioning but thats just my personal view. I looked for the magic pill (and took many) for far too long.

Yes, well there is NO "magic pill" (even hormonals are not magic pills, because one still has to have their diet right and train hard; using them just means that they can train hardER).

This is my take (everyone has a different opinion) on the different aspects in order of importance and their role in getting results:
* Diet - 80-90%
* Training^ - 15-18%
* Supplements - 1-2%

However, as individuals we all vary; some may have a higher training % aspect, others not. I know that personally I can pretty much eat whatever I want whenever I want in whatever quantities I want and if my training is very hard and intense then I still stay <12% BF.

^ Recovery is part of training.

Awesome review, really enjoyed the log buddy, cant wait for your e-stane log.

****ING AWESOME REVIEW BRO!

i have a question that maybe I just didnt see the answer in following the log, can igf-2 be used in a bulking cycle? or is it mainly for a cutting cycle?

Yes, IGF-2 can be used in a bulking cycle (and I would recommend it more for one looking at muscle accretion). It is actually a better bulker than a cutter, because it is more of a recomp product (although it can be used in both). If you were going to use it in a cutting cycle then you would use it so that you could potentially add more muscle (but this would only happen if your nutrition was right).

ok thanks rosie. I have been adjusting my diet for last 3months off and on and seeing what works the best for me. Currently around 3k cals and 200-250 in protien , take alot of supp. and doing pretty well since others here(suncloud) helped me adjust it some. Got up to 158 (lol) not impressive to many but after lifting for yrs and working out eating well and working hard in life not bad for me. I am 39 so I have tried many many thngs, but in the decade i managed to put on 20lbs of lean muscle or so. Used to be extreme bean pole, still lil skinny but def. much more muscular.

Did a few ph's before but only seemed to have sucess with tren so far, but then again a few yrs ago i didnt have AM giving me the knowldge that I have now, hence the reason the tren worked well for me, diet, routine, etc.

I have been off phs and pct for about 2 months or so and looking for something to push me up a little more. I understand many here think diet can push you up just as fast but when you have tried pretty much for yrs and yrs and hasent worked, pretty sure i know my body now at my age. So i accept a few lbs here and there and 1/4" gains and more work also.

Kind lost rambling, lol, just looking for ideas and thoughts. I dont wish to gain fat weight, useless to me. Only lean muscle which i know from experince is harder but in the end much more worth it to me.

further thinking instead of mainly body isolation moves such as bodybuilders do I shall try 4 weeks of mainly 3 core movements and see what happens. i will up the cals. 500 and see if i can keep the fat down.

...dont wish to gain fat weight, useless to me. Only lean muscle which i know from experince is harder but in the end much more worth it to me.

You're rarely going to gain ALL lean muscle mass when trying for muscle accretion. You may get minute fat gain, or you could stay about the same re fat levels or even lose some fat. However, since you cannot actually gauge whether the lean body mass you gain is muscle, water, food, or other things, then just go by body composition; and generally you will be adding muscle with some of all the rest. If you want to gain muscle whilst staying relatively lean or even losing some fat (i.e. recomp) then your DIET MUST BE MANIPULATED JUST RIGHT, since this WILL be the determining factor. I recommend calorie cycling for this; it has worked effectively for me so far.

Bodybuilders DON'T do mainly isolation exercises (not sure where you got that from). You SHOULD be doing multijoint, compound, core movements ALL the time; these are the BEST exercises for muscle gain, period. Squat, deadlift, powercleans, pull-ups, barbell bent over rows, bench press, shoulder press, dips, and calf raises (the only isolation exercise I would recommend), with squats and deadlifts being your BEST hypertrophy exercises.
