Turff49 Quest for Success

As I've gotten older I've learned how to manage anger. I do let my philosophical sarcasm flow at that point. Usually takes the other person awhile to figure out what I just said or called them. But, for the most part I don't get mad. Being mad causes stress and I hate stress.

Got in a short chest workout again yesterday...
Just some inclines to 225 and a few sets of flyes with the 50's.
Also had pizza last night. First time in about 3 years. Will finish it up at lunch today and then I'm good for another 3 years...lol

My workouts have suffered over the past couple months and I can tell. Need to get refocused and start forcing myself to be up and at the gym instead of trying to fit my workouts in at home. Just so much going on right now...
10 year anniversary on Thursday. And then Janet goes in next Monday for her hip replacement(2nd attempt)...

Your "iron beast" is just resting a little. Between work and worrying about your wife you're just concentrating on more important things for the time being.

Back to chicken last night. Needless to say I ate 1 medium pan pizza Sunday night and 1 medium thin crust Monday for lunch. I'm good for another 3-4 years now. I love pizza but know what the bread will do to me.

Mmm, pizza. Saying prayers for Janet's successful surgery and recovery!

Happy Anniversary!!

Only people who can really anger me is my wife and my children. More frustration than anger but it all comes out the same way. Otherwise I play the cerebral ninja verbally slicing at someone and it isn't until I walk away they realize they have been cut deep.

Amen, I am going through the same thing right now. Having to force some focus on this part of my life so that I don't let myself get swallowed unshakeable feeling that I must be here for my wife at all times. Last time I ended up stopping for months and we all know how that turned out. This time my wife is insisting I not lose sight of myself in my efforts to keep her happy and comfortable. She knows the iron is a part of who I am and I am not whole without it in my life.

Congrats on the anniversary Brian! Give your wife my best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery!

Well, anniversary went great! Took the wife out and about yesterday then to the restaurant I proposed to her at 10 years ago. Had a nice steak oscar'd. some Oyster Rockefeller for appetizer. She - she had liver and onions...lol! Go to a 5 star restaurant and she wants liver and onions. Most expensive liver I've paid for($35)...lol. We had a great time though.
Haven't lifted in a few days now but have done cardio.
Gym in the morning to hit up some legs, they will be sore Sunday.

She is 2nd on the list Monday morning for her surgery. Gotta be there at 6am. Asked her if she is nervous and she said no, she's anxious. Been waiting on this surgery all year really.

Liver and onions...
well. Then.

she's never ordered or even cooked it at home. Strangest thing I ever seen...lol

Yes the better not f it up this time!
Different hospital and different doc. His words when we told him "what the hell" and then said excuse me that just came out and apologized. We all got a laugh but he said not to worry he'd take care of her.

Got my leg workout in. Been awhile since I went intense, short rest, and heavy.

My left knee has been aggravating me and popping. Not hurting. Just knee bends squatting down where the knee goes forward of the foot. Wasn't sure how legs would go.

630 x 10

810 x 5 last rep I must've relaxed some and lost focus and went really too deep. Knees were almost on my shoulders. Thought my brain was going to pop out my forehead to get it pushed up...lol

180 x 10 - struggled on these. My core is a little soft...lol

That was it. Legs are fried.

I've not been on anything for about 5 months. Have lost a little muscle size but don't think I've really lost anything strength wise. Maybe on my top end of incline bench, maybe.
Have lost focus, motivation, and drive some. I've got some items stockpiled, might have to pull some out and run something for awhile after Janet's surgery. Decisions decisions...

You've had a lot of changes and things to deal with this past year! I think you handle it all very well! Always balancing things well!! Not to mention you're one strong beast too!!

I'm glad you had a great anniversary (even with liver...lol)

Interested in your upcoming choices. My mind is getting curious to try something too b

Getting that iron up for the surgery. Must be it. No other excuse for eating sand infused meat!
Well played on the going to where you proposed!!!! Glad it all went well!

Jo's new doctor kind of gave us the same reaction when we told him about the Gastro doc we went to before.

I totally feel you on the may need a little something to bring back the mojo full steam. That is precisely why I arranged this little run of logs with mild anabolic agents. I was right there on the cusp and new a log and a bump with a few select choices would work well for me. I will cut my next run off and go all natty other than TRT for a few months after this. Although I may run the Cardarine for a few weeks after to see if it continues to help my bloods get back to normal.

Yes curious what you might come up with!

Liver - that's exactly why she ordered it. She's taking prescription iron also.

My options are:
3-MHD I have a nice supply of this
test E and P good supply of this
Tren good supply of this

Could do a combination of any of the above

I see a 3-MHD Kicker along with a Test P start, rolling into Test E, and tren from the start just going out on a limb here.

Almost what I was thinking. Wasn't sure about starting with the Tren too.

Almost what I was thinking. Wasn't sure about starting with the Tren too.

Yeah with the Dymeth at the beginning, no need there. Could cause more sides than fun and we all want to feel good on the run. Plus you plan to run it around 14 weeks I am assuming, if so then definitely wait on the tren. No need for rushing when you can go longer with reasonable doses.

Probably a 20-26 week run. Need to use some of this stock up...lol

Lol at the DB curls in between leg lifts! Strong you are! All the best to your wife for tomorrow's procedure.

Good luck today! Saying a prayer now.

Thanks guys! Sitting here now.... Now the long wait...lol Janet said thanks for the prayers and well wishing!

Sending my best wishes again! I am sure she will come out of this in great shape! Sounds like you have the right doctor this time!

Surgery went well. Did have some issues yesterday evening and last night. Bp and pulse dropped, then they stopped her pain meds because of that. Took until about 11 to get that straightened out. They had her walking this morning so that's a plus. BP still low though...
And of course she's irritable and fidgety...lol

All understandable, hope the BP issues correct themselves quickly.

Good news! It's a good thing that you are with her to monitor everything.

Well, workouts have been almost non existent the past week. Did get a little arm workout in last week and a little chest workout in but nothing to really write about.
Wife's hip is coming along but we are getting concerned about some swelling now. Hopefully they can see her today.
Hoping to get a chest workout in this evening.

My right wrist has been giving me fits for weeks now. Beginning to wonder if its arthritis. Taking fish oils, super cissus, and using Voltaren gel on it.

does a nice dose of aleve make it go away??

Haven't found anything to make it go away. It just kind of goes and comes. Just very annoying...
Heck Motrin hasn't helped either. I've got some old Lyrica and they do prescribe it for arthritis, may give it a try before I go to a doc and they tell me to try and not use it for awhile and that at my age these things are normal...lol

Do you wrap it?

Use Versa Gripps and tighten them up. The issue is more often than when I'm just lifting. More a nagging issue that is constant.

Mine has done that a bit lately. Not too bad though.
Do you wrap it?
This was my next question.

Versagrips aren't going to give you the support you need for that. You want to get some wrist wraps or use some wrapping tape if not. I have Versas and the support is mild and the metal ring on them is not helpful or comfortable when tight enough to actually provide support. Just my $.02

Does Dicks sporting goods sell wraps? Guess I could order from elite...

They probably do. I got mine through Sling Shot and I love them.

I bet they do, if not elite or prowristwraps.com normally has them cheap. I got mine free there purchasing something else.

Starting to get my lifting back to a normal routine, I hope anyway.
