Transformation & Physique Goal Challenge 2018! Let's get it done!!!

Yes. This is the theory Lyle MacDonald has kind of too...fat cells fill with water as they deplete and you stall on the weight loss until one day it flushes out. But in this case I was actually gaining weight, which is a real bummer, and then flushed back to the bottom weight I was at.

Still...it is just the scale and is just one tool for measuring.

Do you ever take potassium citrate if you get kidney stones?

Never have. If I keep my water up Im good. Might have to think about it.
Problem I already take up 2 cabinets and the top of the fridge in the kitchen and not any room left. LOL I can always find room. Oh I forgot about the 2 boxes full in the laundry room on top of the dryer. And the table in my bed room and floor space underneath it.

Wow! now that I typed this out I think I have a problem?

Haha - I am the same way, cabinets full of supplements! I would get some potassium citrate and use it as a potassium source. I tend to keep a bag of the powder on hand and when I feel like I need some extra potassium (like when I haven't been eating healthy or when I feel dehydrated or muscles cramp, etc.) that is what I use. I've never had any kidney stone issues - but if you go to the hospital that is one of the things they will inject; potassium citrate. It should help break up stones, so I figure infrequent or moderately frequent use is a pretty good way to aid the kidneys. I just don't know if it's ever helped anyone with a stone issue so I was curious.

Its genetic. If I keep my water intake up they are so small that there isn't any pain. just plop, there was a stone.

Yeah, I can't imagine bouncing to be honest. I also control the decent at least to a small degree, except on the very last rep. I know some people disagree with that, but it is how I've always done it.

But to be bouncing and throwing that much weight around...for one I would hurt myself, but for two it seems like it would be harder. It probably requires more actual force and I am just not geared to do it. If I saw someone telling out that much weight without taking a pause between each rep, I'd be in awe.

But mostly, I grind every rep but try to reset and make sure form is as good as I can.

I will get to your log today!
Oh no, touch and go are far easier, there is definitely a rebound from the floor, plus you get to use the stored energy from coiling up during the descent to spring up out of the bottom while the bar is also recoiling. Its the same thing is coming right back up out of a push up compared to doing a push up and unloading the hands completely then pushing back up. You do not get to use any stored tension.

One way to tell. Look through them and price them out, if you have over 1000 in unused supplements you have a problem. The problem is being too susceptible to supplement hype. Just don't purchase anymore until you use what you have on hand. Otherwise you are honestly throwing money away....

I did this for a few years and had the same situation. Lucky for me I was a rep for Orbit Nutrition and got a very nice paycheck every month in supplements. So i built up a hell of a stockpile. At one point I went through my boxes and cabinet and found over 1000 worth of EXPIRED supplements. At that point I retired from repping for supp companies and just went about using all the stuff I had on hand... I still have a lot, and a lot of old stuff that may never get used.

I have SD, DMZ Epistane, other mixes, DermaTr3n, all stuff I am not sure if I will ever use at this point. On top of that lots of GDA's, but the bulk of what I used as staples have more to do with health and most of the anabolic supps are kind of on hold.

I consider doing a big sell off of a lot of it some day.

In all honesty if you are interested hit me up via PM, and I will give you my email to chat about it and decide if you actually do want any of what I have. If so we might be able to work something out.

I have way to many in a stock pile, but it's a hobby, I'm a collector !!

I imagine a lot of yours is also from rep pay and not a ton of personal purchases though right? I only buy things when they are on a killer deal now. Like I got 4 of the GDA that were on sale so cheap about a month ago that people were saying was really good. I think I got them for $10 a piece so they were definitely worthy of a purchase. Other than that I spend money on protein, aminos, fish oil, ubiquinol, nettle root, Liv52, and the like. Just stuff for general health and whatnot. I still have probably 7-8 different types of energy / diet pills too. I just started using one recently actually. It is HiTech's version of OEP, and it feels pretty good. Not sure how effective for fat loss but it sure does the trick on appetite suppression.

A good recommended GDA for 10 bucks is worthy of me opening my wallet for sure. I definitely hear you on me being satisfied typically with my rep order only. I'll always perk up to a deal on protein or a good pre either for pump or go go juice but not many natural boost products really spike my interest. GDAs are good to have for sure though especially when dirt cheap. I've actually been needing to stock up.

what do you take nettle root for?

Transformation & Physique Goal Challenge 2018! Let's get it done!!!

what do you take nettle root for?

It helps out a ton with BPH related urine flow. Way better than saw palmetto. Makes me pee like a young man! Lol

Haha, I have cabinets full of stuff - but it's mostly big bags of protein and bags if individual ingredients. I have some stuff from Evomuse that I've stocked up on.

I also owned a supplement retailer back in 1998 and I honestly still have a ton of expired stock from then.. it's nostalgic at this point. Haha.

Did Deadlifts again tonight. Added 10 pounds to each set. Got 375 x 10 and then 405 x 2.

It's amazing how many reps you lose with just 10 more pounds.

Also, I have been super-setting straight arm pull downs with pull ups and if you haven't done straight arm pull downs...I highly recommend it.

Supposedly it helps freeing Test too.
Yes it definitely does that, the stuff I used is an extract from Swanson Vitamins and it helps with BPH, I am sure it frees up minimal mounts of Test but it isn't the 95% extract like in dyvanil which is what is used in a lot of test boosters. I think it is closer to around 50% and I tend to take 1000mg daily, and sometimes 1500mg if I am on a diet pill or something that is really effecting my urine flow.

Nice work on the deads, some of that was probably the weight some of it was probably recovery, it hasn't been that long since you did the last dead lift workout and they tend to take a little more recovery. Unless doing a light day and heavy day I would avoid doing them more than once a week. Especially in a Widow Maker type format like you did last time. That's a CNS crushing workout, even DC training doesn't do that with them due to higher injury risk and what it does to your CNS. So keep that in mind, when chasing strength you have to keep the CNS fresh.

This interest me how do you dose it ?

I totally agree about the recovery stuff. I didn't mention that I did the 365 until Sunday but I actually did it last Thursday. I haven't been on the board too much so I didn't have a chance to update it. My training right now is one day on two days off.

Basically the first workout is squats, bench presses, barbell curls, lying French presses. The second workout is deadlifts, straight arm pull-downs, pull ups, bent-over rows, military presses, dumbbell presses and side laterals.

It seems like every time I had 10 lb I dropped three to five reps on the deadlift. At least in this rep range. If I had 10 lb to get 12 reps I am thrilled.

I take 2 caps or 1000mg in the morning then 1 around noon. If I am using stims that make it harder to pee I bump it up to 2 caps on the second dose as well. I keep some at work so I can choose to use it in the AM if I already feel issues, if not I hold off. If you take 2 of them in about an hour you will notice that the urgency when you have to pee subsides, and you can start faster when you get to the toilet and often keep flow right up to the end and not have to really force the last several squirts out. Has drastically dropped my accidental droplet after putting it up situation that would happen occasionally. You know the "Oh I thought I was done but I guess not... drip drop... DAMN IT!!!!"

These are the ones I use. Invalid Link Removed

Oh okay and yeah they say every new rep is about a 5lb increase in strength on upper body so that makes sense. Lower is probably in the 5-10 lbs per rep range.

MrKleen73 Thank you, sounds just like what I need sometimes!!

The cool thing is you don't have to use it every day. Only days you are having flow issues. It takes effect in about an hour or so and seems to last for about 4 hours then slowly starts fading off but since I only use stims earlier in the day other than a preworkout at night I just dose morning and sometimes at lunch.

If I take a PWO with Beta-Alanine I have to really puch hard to pee

Yea then take it upon waking and I bet by the end of your workout you will notice better flow than usual. I won't say it fixes everything but the most noticeable difference out of any prostate support I have used.

I am going to give it a try !

So how’s everyone getting on a month in to the transformation challenge???

I’ll be getting some pics up tomorrow/Saturday (been away with work) but I feel like I’m starting to make some progress now (the epistane and treat kicking in May have something to do with that haha).

Not having access to scales all week will make Saturday interesting as I’ve honestly no idea - best guess will be weight the same or up 1-2lbs but I’m definitely looking leaner and I’m definitely stronger.

I was always planning to come strong from this point so let’s be seeing your A games now !!!

As mentioned and shown this weekend my progress has been okay, more of a slow recomp right now but I just started adding in walks at lunch. I just got back from another one. I go walking along the bayou here in downtown where the side walk meanders up and down the slope of the bank. It adds enough hills and whatnot to allow me to burn more calories than a normal walk but I doubt my heart rate gets much higher than 100 average with some points on the longer higher hill maybe 120BPM.

Either way adding in 2 or 3 of those a week should be enough to get things moving faster than they have been. I clock in a little early so I can be gone for 75-90 minutes for lunch if needed. As it gets hotter I will start to change before I go, and then will add some hill sprints into the mix. I live in Houston so we are talking a couple weeks from now tops.

Try to get in some Noodz tonight. Unless there is a class in the room I use.
first week back after 10 days off. curious to see where I'm at comparing pics. (Kind of hard to tell in the mirror when you look at yourself everyday)

Nice, I know there’s plenty of studies showing you don’t ‘need’ cardio and lifting alone can do everything body comp wise but personally I think it makes a big difference to me - just getting outside for an hour or two fresh air makes me feel good and then I lift better (this is weirdly true, I seem to perform better on squats if I’ve run 5-10k a few hours before hand...)

I should do more hill sprints though, ultimate conditioning tool!!

Back when I could squat I would run for 4-5 minutes before squats. Makes a difference. Plus less chance of injury.
Now running 5-10K I couldn't do that if I wanted to.

Not right now anyway... I could work up to it, not sure if your knees are up to it though. I do well with 5-10 minutes on the stairmill before squats. Nothing like a bunch of step ups to get everything warm...

I can't run across the street, knees are shot!!

I didn't make it across the street...or even out of my basement. But this is what I did tonight.

Still hitting it hard. I’m hoping to see some progress this weekend in pictures, but we shall see. I’m enjoying this month of extra calories before cutting so i’m expecting faster progress after march.

I seem to look a bit leaner than I did this weekend. That is a good thing for sure. It may have just been a difference in lighting but my abdomen seems a little bit tighter. I think all the hard planking is really helping as well as starting up the walks and paying more attention to caloric intake. I am going to just keep plodding away and I think in 2 months I should look pretty damn good. Hell a month and I should be feeling a lot more confident.

Update: Not bad for taking 11 days off. I'm usually a lot fatter.

First week back pics. Weight 208.7 Left shoulder flared up on me a little last night. but I'm use to it.

Thanks brother! If you look real real real close you can see the circle thing around my abs on the front doble ! lol
Sorry dont know what its called.

Those are your obliques and serratus starting to show up. To improve that double biceps shot try bring your elbows more forward, will drop your lats out and give you the lip on the lower chest too!

Ugh. Now I gotta go spend an hour on the treadmill because Studhorse obviously isn't eating as many donuts as I'd hoped he would during this competition.

Thanks for the advice. I obviously don't know how to pose.

Down a few lbs, will weigh first thing in morning. Noticing some arm development, biceps still lagging but they always have. Been hitting them more frequently though so we shall see what develops.

Transformation & Physique Goal Challenge 2018! Let's get it done!!!

Oh by the way I weighed myself and was 207.5 down 5.2 lbs from last week but I was holding some water then. However this is down 5.2 lbs altogether now. So progress is right about where I was hoping for and not lose muscle.
