Training log revamp ROUND 3 lol

For me I was hyper focused. But I was so concentrated that I didn't want to didn't want to do anything. It would probably have been great to study or whatever. But I'm a high energy balls to the wall person and 1 little pill took that away from me. It made me feel like a zombie and that's not who I am. I remember telling my dad at the time it makes me feel like I'm not myself and I just didn't like it.
I was on ritalin as a kid for a bit but it literally knocked me out sometimes, then other times I was a zombie. I quit taking it and just suffered through school, misbehaving and getting suspended a lot until they finally passed me to the next grade. I was suspended a total of 23 times between both of my 7th grade years and my 8th when I got expelled. I ended up quitting school my 2nd time in 9th thinking I was a total idiot and loser. It wasn't until I got out into the real world and started working that I realized I was actually very intelligent, and could figure things out faster than most all I needed was either interest in it, or a deadline I cared about to force me into action then I would do a great job.

Got a last min cancelation notice so Dr. Gonna see me in 10min. I don't know anything about this doctor in particular but it's better than nothing so at least it's a start
Good to hear man!

I saw the atteral stuff might try that and trigilis nootropic from old school labs, vintage bright, just because I am a fan of him and his channel. I've posted before of of ever hit it big id have vigorous Steve do my nutrition and drug protocols and trigili be my training coach

Trigili for training? Jeez you might as well just follow Arnold’s encyclopedia of bodybuilding man

I honest to God think if I could afford someone to completely spell me out the game plan to grow as much as possible I would hire Paul from anabolic bodybuilding. I just feel like he's more of a regular dude and I'd like to support him. He knows what it takes and he's willing to push it within reason.

For training I'd rather do my own or hire someone local and pay extra to have them train with me once in a while so I know I'm pushing myself hard enough.

Dr. Visit was just basic check up because I couldn't get my insurance information in time so gotta make another appointment.

BP was 131/85
Resting heart rate was very high 91bpm which explains me not sleeping
Other then that he want blood tests anyway because he said outside of the slightly elevated things above I appear to be the picture of health. He asked what kind of supplements I take. I was honest about being on self prescribed trt at the moment at 150mg and he didn't seem overly concerned

Sounds like what you expected that you wouldn't find out too much without bloodwork. Good luck on this!

Honestly Paul would probably be the best for both, i think Steve could get a little too out there for me. As far as trigili I was impressed with his videos when he critiques guys training, the way he explained it just made a lot of sense to me just like Paul. But again if I had that kinda cash to blow mine as well get Haney rambod or milos

I agree on Steve, I think he's too out there. Don't get me wrong I love his channel and I'm always looking for stuff from him I have not seen yet. But he's to overly complicated. I remember a few years back that he said he won't coach anyone unless they completely come off gear and fast for x amount of days before he puts them on a diet and protocol to see if there gonna listen to him, that's a bit ridiculous sounding to me. Still if money was no option I'm sure I'd probably involve him. I actually don't think I would hire the big names like rambod or aceto or Milo's. Guys like them aren't concerned with people who don't have top their genetics and not competing. Your not gonna get your money's worth out of them in my opinion. At least I'd assume not.

Yep, I was hoping he would just take blood, I fasted all day other then water and black coffee and I was out of the gym for 5 days or so. So it was a perfect time to get bloods. I did go to the gym right after tho. Full body with supersets and some light cardio, now I'm feasting on home made soft tacos and a diet coke. I'm actually hungry after not eating all day and you know how it goes, yiu feel sick and then go to the Dr and magically youfeel better right before yiur appointment lol. If I don't get nauseous tonight I'm going to eat a slice of cake. It's my girls 35th birthday so I made her a pistachio cake with pudding frosting Invalid Link Removed

I can relate, I didn't get into much trouble till late teens early 20s but in high-school I never could pay attention in class and hardly ever did my homework but I always passed the tests and did enough to play sports. Whenever I put the effort in I got A's and B's

I actually scored a 1280 or something like that on the sats and when I went back to school in my 20's I scored 120 out of 120 on the English section Of the college placement test which only like 10 ppl per year do and English was by far my worst subject in high-school.

I took exercise science, sports nutrition, Koniciology, and more science type stuff and decided to quit to be a alcoholic construction worker 🤦🤷

Damn, it’s like we went to the same school! Lol. Yeah man I also raised more hell than most. Do I regret it or want to change anything? Never. Forged from fire.

Forgot to mention, Dr. Said according to the whatever chart I'm 30lbs over weight. I said where do I loose 30 lbs from. He said idk maybe cut off your bad leg lol

Yeah those charts always killed me. It’s like the ideal according to the chart is skinny with no muscle. That was a pretty good comeback by the Doctor though.

The chart said for a 5'9 man the ideal range is 148-175lbs lol

I wrestled 145 sophomore year of high-school at like 6%bf. I can't imagine being 150lbs right now

That guy wouldn’t know what to do with me

I would need to be dying to make 175 now

I'm only 198 right now and I have to starve myself to be 175 and I don't think I could do it and maintain it Unless I decided to become a vegan quit lifting weights and pick up long distance running. I know I can get there but I definitely can't maintain a 175 pounds without being vegan or keto year roundI'm like 1800 calories A-day

Off topic but I really enjoyed my workout yesterday doing a full body it's been a while since I've done one. I've never done it with super sets on a full body workout either and I'm thinking about making 2 full body workouts, one will I do super sets and lighter to moderate weights for higher reps 8-20 And another workout where I just focus on a couple of the big lifts like bench squat shoulder press maybe a bent over row or something And go heavier sets a 3 to 5 or 4 to 6

That makes sense with your boxing and other stuff, and allows you to kind of condense your schedule. My son and some of his buddies, that train in Jiu Jitsu, train full body with weights 2 or 3 times a week and the rest of the days is their martial arts training. They are all in great shape, and none of them really want to have as much muscle as a body builder any way.

If a doctor wver pulls those charts our im gone. I always telk them I know a lot of guys that are 280 that are world class athletes and ones that have 1 foot in a coffin. Show them a picture of Aaron Donald of the rams and another 6'2" man thats the same 280 and fat slob. Weight is just a function of gravity that's why you would be a totally different weight on Mars or Venus or whatever. It's all about %lbm:%fm

I've tried that so many times and I just can't get into it, I've tried and tried but every time I leave the gym I don't feel like I did anything even if it was a tough workout

I know what you mean. I find them very effective but there hard to stick to if your someone who loves training every day or 5-6x a week and if your use to hitting a bodypart with 20 sets a session it's hard to mentally stretch 20 sets over the week. I do find them very effective tho for increasing strength and putting on size for naturals or when your on trt. You also can shorten the rest and burn a funkton of calories because squats and deadlifts just burn way more calories then leg extensions and whatever else.

Even so, I'd bet after 6 weeks IL get bored and go back to a push pull legs style

Been listening to this while working today, I don't know how correct it all is but it's very interesting and I'm gonna dive deeper. I think it's worth a listen

I didn't even turn this on, it just started playing after a anabolics video I was listening to. I don't know anything about this person credentials

I could totally see how it would work for natties that and upper lower split on the other hand, " a day natty is a day wasted"- Dr. Anthony huge M.D. lol

I wrestled 140 sophomore year and looking back I think maybe my skeleton weighs that now lmao

Ya I know what you mean, I just found my pictures from middle of last year in full boxing training mode at 182lbsInvalid Link Removed

Fuckin pants falling off my ass, and my head looks gigantic lol

IL be honest tho, I should probably cut back to that size before my next bulk even if I don't box, it would give me a ton of room to add weight.

Sick forearm veins.
I'm always vascular in my arms, even at 15-18%bf I have veins like that. Ever since I did my first big cut where I went from 225 to 185 I think I dieted off a lot of that intramuscular fat and it never came back or something because before that cut I wasn't like that

Hey @Smont you think I can cut while eating half a stuffed crust pizza and 2 muscle milks a day? Lol. How’s your diet?
Btw I wanted to know how unhealthy it would turn out and in case anyone was wondering:
Half a little Caesar’s stuffed crust pepperoni pizza is :

Calories: 1515

Fat: 79

Carbohydrates: 129.5

Protein: 73

tossing in two muscle milk rtds adds 420 calories and 80 grams of protein.

so 1935 calories, 83g fat, 151.5g carbs, 153g protein

Oh and sodium: 4000mgs

🤣 I’m on low carbs and high right now so this is what I do…

Well, if your in a calorie deficit then your gonna loose weight. But there's no nutritional value and I'd bet your gonna loose muscle just as much as fat without micronutrients and 70gm of protein per day.

Forgot to add in the 80grams from muscle milk shakes!

You can definitely lose fat, but depending on lean bodyweight that protein amount is probably skimpy for optimal nitrogen retention.

The bigger issue I see is malnutrition; using inferior processed foods that also fail to meet a lot of micronutrient goals means you’re likely going to suffer suboptimal energy and probably satiety, which is definitely going to worsen as things become more deficient.

TLDR it would only work longterm as a day or two in your week, provided the rest of the days rotate more nutritious foods in.

I'm looking for a new routine and am looking at Layne Norton's PHAT. Basically Upper & Lower power days (3-5 rep range) and 2 hypertrophy days (lower weights, 8-20 rep range) and I think a leg day thrown somewhere in the mix. Might be an option similar to what you are thinking?

I like PHAT. Did it last year for the first time and going to do it again this spring.

I'm used to doing just my own stuff, that I plan for myself, but sometimes it's fun to just jump on someone else's pre-planned program. I've been doing that more lately. Just started DC after New Year. Haven't done that in years. Too early to tell regarding progress, but so far I like doing it. Except the widowaker sets, I kind of don't 'like' doing those, lol.

PHAT is a good program, I’ve done it a few times myself.

My only issue with upper lower, and this is for me personally, if it works for someone then go for it. But with upper lower it's too unbalanced for me.

On a lower day it's basically just a leg day, but then I gotta cram chest back shoulders biceps triceps all into one workout. I'd rather to push pull legs so that each workout has the same amount of work.

Ive tried it a few times but I feel like legs are getting a ton of work and the upper body isint getting enough.

Now in defense of a upper lower, my upper body is much better developed then my lower so I can see using this to bring up my legs.

But I think I would still do a 4 day split with upper push, legs, rest, upper pull, legs rest, rest or something like that.

I always say the best workout is the one you stick with and progress at and I've never stuck with a upper longer for more then 4-5 weeks so my opinion is kinda skewed
