It all got covered already. High GI carbs, or any really, are not needed by me post workout - I get them throught the 24hr cycle. Leucine has been shown to spike insulin by itself - for whatever worth spiked insulin does.. I also train 2-3 hrs and found Intra's (Meadows' concoction) to be of no use for me. BUT - do I eat them after a workout? Yup. Why? Because carbs are cheaper than protein, I'm friggen starving, and Reeses Puffs with 1% milk tastes damn good!

So AM, I know a lot of you play around extensively with carbohydrate techniques,

How many of you like high GI post work out?

Why or why not?

I can't really equate my food to the glycemic index because I find it dated and utter trash for most healthy people but...here goes.

I don't care. Tbh I have rice one day and oats the other. Considering that if I eat greens with my white rice the glycemic index is straight up turned on its face is why I don't consider them.

I should also note

Blood sugar regulation is often individualized. Some people may feel better eating rice and some may feel better eating oats. Results will vary. The glycemic index is thrown around a ton when it doesn't need to but my rant shall...be over.

Im one of the guys who dont see any advantage in use any high GI carbs in any time. I used to ingest high GI carbs after workouts, around 30-50g mixed in my protein shake. I was simply becoming fat even in caloric maintenence. So i gave up of high GI carbs and protein shakes, start to eat real food before workouts and after workouts, and my belly fat went away faster. See, im from a family were many people suffer from metabolic symdrome and diabetes, so my genetic should be my enemy. Anyway, im happy today, im stronger and leaner than i were in the times i used to consume protein shakes and high GI carbs; today im a low carb guy, i only eat clean carbs, and my results in strenght gains are much better.

No one got my GoT reference :(

Right there with you. Tried a couple episodes and couldn't really get into it, and I'd consider myself a nerd for sure.

Reading the books first eliminates the confusion most people get jumping into it

I am one of five in the world that haven't seen it. :(

I am as well. Bored and weirded out after the first ep. Never went back. Breaking bad was the same, just boring.
