Im one of the guys who dont see any advantage in use any high GI carbs in any time. I used to ingest high GI carbs after workouts, around 30-50g mixed in my protein shake. I was simply becoming fat even in caloric maintenence. So i gave up of high GI carbs and protein shakes, start to eat real food before workouts and after workouts, and my belly fat went away faster. See, im from a family were many people suffer from metabolic symdrome and diabetes, so my genetic should be my enemy. Anyway, im happy today, im stronger and leaner than i were in the times i used to consume protein shakes and high GI carbs; today im a low carb guy, i only eat clean carbs, and my results in strenght gains are much better.
