Today was awesome. As I thought the 45 seconds rest times hurt the weights but today was one of the best "feeling" sessions I've had in some time.

Haha just like they told him put them down to your sides. No holding on to the treadmill. You burn far less calories than the projected when you hold on to the hand rails. YOu already lose the hamstring and glute activity by the belt pushing your legs back but add to that holding on and you lose them even more as well as you need to stabilize. You ever notice most people hold on when walking on an incline and from the side they seem to be leaning backwards? Defeats the purpose a bit.

Yeah I know it was a joke, but also a great opening to help people get the most out of exercise.

This lady at my gym will put that fuker on Max incline and hold on for dear life. Sometimes I wanna stab her hands to see what happens.

People are funny, no more evident than when your at the gym. I sometimes just break out laughing as some of the antics I have seen over the years, some are down right scary.

Quick note from yesterday's workout. Those seated ez bar concentration curls have me sore today. For those who have no clue what they are. Take an ez bar with a close grip. Sit on a bench and rest your elbows on the very edge. Not a ton of pressure should be on the elbows just enough so that you keep your arms still. Lean forward so you are over the barbell and focus on the loose hanging arms and the full contraction on the way up. Is similar to preacher curls but the slight variance if less support changes it up some.
 
Reminds me of a concentration curl or whatever you want to call it with a DB and elbow on the inside of the leg. Good stuff, I actually do my preachers very strict with my arms flat on the pad, tight into my arm pit, and keep the elbows down. Those are excellent as well though. Glad you like them. I haven't been hitting a ton of volume on my bis. like 6-8 sets a week of 5-12 reps, and I just realised I have the biggest bis of my life and I'm about 15 pounds shy of my heaviest. I've just been using really good exercises when I do work them.

it's the same idea as db yeah but with the closer grip can really work the lower outer bicep. This is my weak point on biceps. I like preachers to but this was just s change of pace
 
If you practice you can really hit any part of the muscle based on set up angles, but you're right. Another fun one for bis is to do your DB curls with your back against the wall and keep your arms/tris tight against as well. Ever try them?
 
I like DB Drag Curls, just pin your elbows back as far as you can and curl up. The higher you get the more gravity acts on your biceps even at the top of the movement you are getting full on effect of gravity. Talk about a crazy contraction and keeping your elbows back completely removes the anterior delts from the curl.

yes I like these immensely too - only I use both DB and ez curl bar, prolly ez bar more than the DBs

Yeah I feel I get a better ROM with the DB but I do both as well.
 
I am getting crazy isolation on all by bicep exercises these days. I can always find a way to better work the muscle by making small adjustments and really concentrating on the muscle I'm working. A lot of times it means using less weight. I particularly like the reverse preachers though. Those are nuggin futs....
 
That's what I've been seeing lately as well. Granted I don't do much BB work or really many curls at all. But I always use less weight than I could and go for that focus/concentration with the mind muscle connection. not only does it better develop the muscle but teaching my brain to fire the muscles is imperative in PL as I need to be able to fire muscles 100% So less to be learned for everyone, less weight isn't bad when you have better form and a more precise movement.

Legs were smoked after squats. This is the heaviest I've pushed it in a long time. Knees are already a bit tender but oh well. Actually surprised I moved as much weight as I did. Its gotta be the Ignite2 :)
