Time to CONQU3R with Olympus Labs!

That's insane weight.

What does a 'suit' do?

I watched a few of his videos!! Insane!!

They just feel really good - it's a row/pulling movement, but you feel it in the tris like a pullover as well. I've actually been including a light 20-30 rep pump set of these before almost all my upper body workouts for a while now. Really gets blood into a lot of areas at once.

I'll give it a try.

Yeah, sometimes pullovers really hit my tris before the fatigue the lats. I love the stretch anyhow.

That's insane weight.

What does a 'suit' do?

Lets you lift more weight. Like a trampoline effect out of the hole in squat & off the chest on benchpress. Deadlift suits don't give as big a bang, as there's no eccentric phase to store energy like lowering the bar on squat or bench. This is why there are more 1,000lb benchers in existence than 1,000lb deadlifters.

That's what people mean when they say Raw Powerlifting - single or multi-ply 'suits' aren't allowed. A belt is allowed in any federation & must be worn over an un-supportive singlet (like a wrestler, so you can't hide supportive gear under it), & wrist wraps & knee sleeves are usually allowed as well. Knee wraps are still considered raw, but not all classes allow them - I don't use them.

Huh. I just learned a lot in that one paragraph. I also did not know there were ANY 1K benchers.

Ryan Kennelly has done over 1,100 in a shirt. I believe the world record raw bench is in the 700s. Which is sick.

What ages are these people? 700 is for sure sick. I'll like to see 4 one day, but I wonder if my age (33) will prevent that because I've started so late.

Edit:

And I've stayed completely natural

No idea. I can't imagine older than 40. You're talking about tremendous strain on the body, lifting all these weights for years & years on end, being so big & heavy you snore while you're awake, huge amounts of anabolics - all complimenting perfect genetics that are critical to make something like that happen.

Most natural guys will never see 405. That's tough for a lot of guys on a lot of juice, if you're not built for it. I've never done 315 for crying out loud.

I expect 315 to happen eventually. Just not certain how much more.

I have no clue what I'm built for....

Consistency goes a long way. The more directly you train for it, the more likely you'll get it. It could take a long time either way.

Sometimes reality sucks.

I've starting benching with a guy that easily reps 315 at ~220 lbs body weight. He holds some kind of record for maybe under 18 with a 400+ maybe 450 bench, not sure what exactly it is. At that same time he was pulling 750+.

Point being, I don't think he was on gear at that young of an age and my guess is he doesn't use anything now.

Crazy good genetics for strength.

Oh, forgot to mention - today's an off-day, to heal for tomorrow. Gonna try to go HAM tomorrow on lower body since it might be my last workout til sunday or monday :( I'm definitely looking at a 2-hour workout. Thinking about maxing on 4" conventional block pulls. Hopefully I don't rip any callouses.

Exactly. I believe Pete Rubish said he was pulling 755 before he ever stuck a needle in his butt. Wild stuff, but he has no reason to lie about it as transparent as he is about it all.

Plain Greek Yogurt, about 1/2 cup of blueberries, & a shot of Pineapple Mango water flavoring - like a tropical explosion in your mouth! The day I realized Mio was a great ingredient for food as well as water, was the day I started living.

Dude's a certified meat titan, no doubt. 1200lb squats in a suit. Set records in multiple weightclasses.
is that a bloody nose I see going on during that lift?
lol....wow, beast for sure
hope he doesn't fawk around and get a brain hemorrhage one of these days..

I can't imagine being older than 40.

What an awesome idea!! Thanks for sharing!

Hey now!! Us "older people" kick arse! Well, at least the ones that don't have 50" waists and can walk on by the plate of donuts!! Let's see what you say at 39! LMAO

Lmao he took it out of context as a gag - I work with a guy who's 57, was in Nam, & he's younger at heart than I am probably. He moved his furniture w/ me last week after playing a gig w/ his band til 2am the night before. You'd almost forget there's 3.5 decades between us the way we get along at work.

Thanks hoss, training is going well enough!

Yeah Chuck is a beast. Don't care to know his blood pressure during that lift - believe that was his 1,200lb squat. It was 275 class, so he was prob 290lbs at least on the platform, cranked up on ammonia & who knows how much gear in his system. Like these huge strongmen & bodybuilders, not that surprising when they knock off from heart attacks & strokes & whatnot at early ages :(

Plain tubs of greek are so much cheaper, & you can get the flavor exactly how you want w/ the flavor shots. Worth a try, right? I love it
Absolutely! I don't like the pre-flavored yogurts anyways! I add sugar free pudding mix to mine- makes me feel like I'm cheating! Lol

A little trick. If you stand the way he was (back away from a cable machine, instead of up close, doing rope tricep extensions you'll keep constant tension on your tris. Try it sometime then move up close and you'll feel the difference. ;)

Just realized I was two pages behind lol... I was referring to the YouTube vid of the sbhdvhijv rows lol

Ooooh gotta try that sometime! Sounds epic.

Took my Conqu3r too soon today, didn't get lifting til about an hour after dose - listening to metal & geeking on Conqu3r on the way to the gym is kind of intense. I felt like I wanted to rip my steering wheel off the column I was so ready to kill it.

Just felt like putting some weight in my hands. I really need to work my lockout.

Deadlift 135x8, 225x6, 315x5, 405x3
4" Blockpulls 455x1, 495x1, 550x1 (Gym Record)
Squat Safety Bar touch-n-go to box 2" below parallel, wide stance 65x8, 5, 155x5, 205x5, 265x5, 285x5, *belt added* 305x5, 325x1 (PR)
SSB close Oly stance, hams on calves every rep for 135x20+10+10+10 over the course of one 4-min song. 50 reps of hating life.

Ladies & Gents, the word of the day is "Hitching" #strongmanstyle #notstrongenough #neversaydie

Vid quality was great on buddy's phone but has become pretty terrible in translation :( You get the idea though.

Should have started closer to the bar. It would have helped a tad. I knew it once I began the pull I boned it up.

Wow that looks amazing! I'm definitely going to be trying that! Awesome Job on the 500! A gym record! Your a badass!

PR King! I knew you had it in you! Beast!

Strong work bro!

Hatebreed eh? Another metal head, I dig it! Have you heard Emmure's new album?

Beast indeed!!! Awesome job man!!

Tried the ham killers today btw- Loved them!!! Didn't get a video but got a pic!

New promo going on from Orbit for anyone interested

Me and Hyde will be testing your supplement knowledge and trying to stump AM!

Man Hyde that video made me cringe!

Yeah it was a grinder - but the thing is, it's actually a fairly safe pull: look at the lower back. Remains fairly neutral. Upper back rounds a lot, but that's how I always pull, & all the strongest conventional deadlifters in the world pull that way. Any raw guy pulling 900 or more has a flat lower back & upper is arched over like king kong. Zero back agitation (and I have an old injury that would let me know) from this; it just looks rough because it's all hitching.

lol they weren't as hard as I thought they'd be...ss them at the end with leg curls and it made it a little more challenging! I liked the burn!

Man, what a GREAT idea!!! I can only do so much plain Greek before I feel like gagging. I have a quart sitting in the fridge I was getting close to tossing. I'll have to try this today.

They look really hard. Well, at least with my 100+ lb upper body. Lol

Omigoodness grape Kool-Aid yogurt!

Omigoodness grape Kool-Aid yogurt!

That sounds awesome! Some cool, creamy concorde yogurt - not a bad way at all to relax on the porch on a warm summer evening :yup:

No lifting 3rd-6th.

Hope everyone had a happy Independence Day! What a great weekend. One of my very best friends of 8 years now got married yesterday at a vineyard in central IL, & I was best man. Weather was mid 70s & a bit overcast, so we were all incredibly comfy in our tuxs outside - could not have asked for the wedding or weather to be any more perfect.

Drove up after work thursday to throw the Bachelor's Party that night, the 3rd - as always, I was a DD, along w/ another good soul, & didn't to bed til about 6am. My gf thought I was kidding when I said I'd see her at sunrise lol. Lot of work & money but everyone had a great time.

Only got 2hrs of sleep, but the rehearsal on the 4th went smooth & the lunch was awesome - should have gotten pics at this tea room for you guys. My poor buddy was hurting so bad from his party I ate most of his food for him. Desserts were EPIC. I love being the sober one sometimes.

After some time at the pool, finished off the evening with some fireworks with friends and some Chicago-style meatlovers at a local pizzeria. Know what's better than dough, sauce, cheese, & meat? Twice as much of those ;)

P.S. - I love continental breakfast.

Aww sounds like an amazing time and some pretty awesome food to go along! Glad you enjoyed yourself! Congrats to your friend too!! :)

Sounds like it was a blast bud. Pizza and continental breakfast ? Can't beat it!

Day 12

Tonight's workout (finally back to lifting!)

Bench 45x5, 95x5, 135x5, 185x3, 220x5x5
Ez Bar Decline JM Press 70x12, 100x12, 110x10, 120x8, 130x6
Chinups BWx10, 7, 6, 6
-ss w/ V-bar Tri Pressdowns 50x25, 16, 15, 15
Underhand Close-grip Pulldowns 100x16, 15
Standing Military 135x6 (just because)

Just kind of getting into the JM Press, & tonight was the first time trying it decline - I like it waaaay better on decline, & it's much easier on the wrists w/ the preacher bar vs a straight bar. The loading is more like a weighted dip than a skullcrusher, but it's a lot easier on the shoulders.

This is the 4th wk of 5x5 on bench - been hopping 5lbs every wk (205, 210, 215, 220) without incident since the meet, & doing a max effort exercise after every other wk (last wk was 3-board press). That way I still see some heavy weight often, but the priority is building the base strength.

P.S. today's the 24th birthday. With everything going on lately, gf is taking me out to dinner tomorrow & gonna smash some oreo pie afterward :)
