A study by Oxford University found the number of people who receive blood clots after getting vaccinated with a coronavirus vaccine are about the same for those who get Pfizer PFE and Moderna MRNA vaccines as they are for the AstraZeneca AZN vaccine that was produced with the university's help. According to the study, 4 in 1 million people experience cerebral venous thrombosis after getting the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, versus 5 in 1 million people for the AstraZeneca vaccine. The risk of getting CVT is much higher for those who get COVID-19 -- 39 in a million patients -- than it is for those for get vaccinated. AstraZeneca's vaccine use has been halted or limited in many countries on blood clot concerns.

I have yet to go into a store without seeing multiple people wearing garbage masks or wearing them incorrectly or removing them to talk. Most parts of this country don’t have mask mandates. Abstract
Objectives
As global vaccination campaigns against COVID-19 disease commence, vaccine safety needs to be closely assessed. The safety profile of mRNA-based vaccines in patients with autoimmune inflammatory rheumatic diseases (AIIRD) is unknown. The objective of this report is to raise awareness to reactivation of herpes zoster (HZ) following the BNT162b2 mRNA vaccination in patients with AIIRD.
Methods
The safety of the BNT162b2 mRNA vaccination was assessed in an observational study monitoring post-vaccination adverse effects in patients with AIIRD (n = 491) and controls (n = 99), conducted in two Rheumatology Departments in Israel.
Results
The prevalence of HZ was 1.2% (n = 6) in patients with AIIRD compared with none in controls. Six female patients aged 49 ± 11 years with stable AIIRD: rheumatoid arthritis (n = 4), Sjogren’s syndrome (n = 1), and undifferentiated connective disease (n = 1), developed the first in a lifetime event of HZ within a short time after the first vaccine dose in 5 cases and after the second vaccine dose in one case. In the majority of cases, HZ infection was mild, except a case of HZ ophthalmicus, without corneal involvement, in RA patient treated with tofacitinib. There were no cases of disseminated HZ disease or postherpetic neuralgia. All but one patient received antiviral treatment with a resolution of HZ-related symptoms up to 6 weeks. Five patients completed the second vaccine dose without other adverse effects.
Conclusion
Epidemiologic studies on the safety of the mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines in patients with AIIRD are needed to clarify the association between the BNT162b2 mRNA vaccination and reactivation of zoster.

my wife and i will NOT be getting vaccinated, BUT we have worn masks since march of 2019 and will continue to wear....for at least a decade doctors offices and hospitals have requested people with cold or flu symptoms to wear masks---when faucci came out and said masks weren't necessary i knew he was not trustworthy.

Look, masks CAN 'work' in some settings (you'd need to define what 'work' means); they absolutely don't work for the purposes of general masking of the public, longterm, to prevent to spread of covid-19. There are various reasons for this:

- there is no standard for masks; grandmas doily passes muster, as do face shields (which don't work in this context), and neck gaiters (which are worse than nothing)

- in studies, 8-10 medical professionals can't put on masks correctly AFTER IN PERSON INSTRUCTION. I'd bet 99 out of 100 average joe's is putting them on wrong

- studies in medical setting don't show high effectiveness of masks, but regardless, in a perfect world, medical setting, you sterilize, don PPE, enter the sterile area to do the thing, remove PPE, sterilize, and leave. It's not worn 24/7, and is not meant to be.

- IF masks are filtering things, you need to dispose of it, not touch your child, the shopping cart, adjust your mask, touch the doorknob, remove your mask, put it in your pocket with your keys, give your keys to your kid who picks his nose, etc. It's a fucking joke.

- all masks suffer reduced filtration with extended usage (ie extended usage being 'over 30min'); the more effective the mask, for example an n95, the more it suffers from this issue

- the BEST estimates of what masks do they way they're being worn by real people, now, is a reduction of 10-55% in emitted particles. That might sound like 'oh, well, that's better than nothing', but no, it's really not. It's very much like wearing a bullet proof vest that stops 10-55% of the 10 bullets I fired center mass: that's nice, but you're still dead. And that's still ignoring that masks may actually be vectors themselves, or create other unintended problems.

there is truth in this post...those doctor offices and hospitals years ago that wanted people with symptoms of cold/flu to wear the masks that they provided---even now if i go to the VA wearing a mask they make me take off that mask and put on one that they supply.

with that said i am still a advocate of wearing masks---even though i am not for vaccines!!!

I can post studies on various masks, filtration efficiencies, effective face seals (or general lack thereof), particle sizes emitted during sneezing/breating/coughing, but that info is readily available to anyone who desires. The WHO, CDC, US Surgeon General, and Fauci himself all said not to mask in Feb. Why? Because 100 years of studies on masks, particles, viruses, and pandemics said 'they aren't a solution'. Then in March most did an about face on those 100 years of actual science, to spout some bullshit they know isn't true. Why?

Stay inside? Wrong answer. What's outside? Vit D, mental health, exercise, freedom. You know, things that reduce covid danger.

Mask up? Wrong answer. They may increase infections in some instances, they do lend a false sense of security, they do increase stress levels in humans (which suppresses the immune system), and they put our first responders at risk.

2m will die? Nope.

Hospitals overwhelmed? Nope.

'Two weeks to flatten the curve'? Nope.

Kawasaki disease? Nope.

Young athletes at risk? Nope.

'Long haulers'? Nope, oddly those symptoms precisely mimic what you see when you deprive people of all outlets and pleasure, their lifes and routines, lock them at home, eliminate human contact, and feed them a steady diet of panic porn.

Background and Aims
The most restrictive nonpharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) for controlling the spread of COVID‐19 are mandatory stay‐at‐home and business closures. Given the consequences of these policies, it is important to assess their effects. We evaluate the effects on epidemic case growth of more restrictive NPIs (mrNPIs), above and beyond those of less‐restrictive NPIs (lrNPIs).
Methods
We first estimate COVID‐19 case growth in relation to any NPI implementation in subnational regions of 10 countries: England, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, South Korea, Sweden and the United States. Using first‐difference models with fixed effects, we isolate the effects of mrNPIs by subtracting the combined effects of lrNPIs and epidemic dynamics from all NPIs. We use case growth in Sweden and South Korea, 2 countries that did not implement mandatory stay‐at‐home and business closures, as comparison countries for the other 8 countries (16 total comparisons).
Results
Implementing any NPIs was associated with significant reductions in case growth in 9 out of 10 study countries, including South Korea and Sweden that implemented only lrNPIs (Spain had a nonsignificant effect). After subtracting the epidemic and lrNPI effects, we find no clear, significant beneficial effect of mrNPIs on case growth in any country. In France, for example, the effect of mrNPIs was +7% (95% CI: −5%‐19%) when compared with Sweden and + 13% (−12%‐38%) when compared with South Korea (positive means pro‐contagion). The 95% confidence intervals excluded 30% declines in all 16 comparisons and 15% declines in 11/16 comparisons.
Conclusions
While small benefits cannot be excluded, we do not find significant benefits on case growth of more restrictive NPIs. Similar reductions in case growth may be achievable with less‐restrictive interventions.

You think masks work because the media says they do. The reason Fauci originally said masks don't work in the beginning of the pandemic is because all previous research in the past revealed masks aren't going to prevent viral transmission. The only reason Fauci changed his mind, and the TV/governor's, including health departments said to wear masks is not for health and safety, it's so that you can be a submissive peasant.
