THE Success Story - CT's rise to stardom

Again I missed an update, but I did want to post a part of yesterday that was really awesome. Today was "off" mainly due to the fact that I slept a total of 1.5 hours last night.

Yesterday I started to volley/rally with a bud of mine when he suggested we hit some sets. I wasn't expecting that and I don't think he was either....but we figured why not. Turned out to be real interesting :).

In the first set I underestimated him and he took me 4-6. In the second set I came back to take it 6-3. For the last set we decided that in the event of a tiebreaker, we would instead opt for the win by two rule that they have on the 5th set of Wimbledon. Well.....I ended up edging him because my serve was awesome yesterday....but it took me until 11-9 to do it!! It was awesome and I was DEAD tired. Final result =

4-6, 6-4, 11-9.

Nice. Spur of the moment stuff rocks, especially between 2 competitive people. You just know it's gonna be brought, so you give it your all. Rest up bud, and get at it again tomorrow!!

yeah thats exactly it. my buddy is SUPER competitive and usually between pals i'm not....but I wanted it bad yesterday, haha.

I am hoping to get some sleep. I am boiling bottles as we speak, haha

I have to get to bed because the boys are due to be back up for feedings in 1 hour and 12 minutes, but I wanted to get in something fast.

Today's nutrition sucked, but I played 2 sets of tennis (winning 6-0, 6-1) and I also played a game of roller hockey (2v2 + goalie) in which my team won 5-3. It was fun, and a heck of a workout.

what, no food pics? argh!

how you doing man? congrats on the kids BTW.

doing great, thanks for asking :)

the boys are also doing great. I will get some more pics in here of them soon.....and if I ever get time to prepare anything that looks appetizing, haha...some more food pics as well.

Food pics are fine, as long as you post'em early in the day. Tired of reading logs where people post em' late at night, triggering a munchie attack!!

Yeah i've suffered from that day in and day out for a few years now...lol.

The general consensus i've received from others is..... :gives: ;)

Day 1
Summary
As you may see above, today's post is labeled "day 1". I feel like this is the true beginning to THIS log. I should have kept rolling with my last one until now but did not. The reason is that I have now spent almost 2 weeks with my sons in the house and now that I know what kind of sleep i'm getting and what kind of free time i'm getting, now I am planning out with the lady what kind of workout time i'm getting also. I have learned (from today's session) that I can have a decent workout while watching one of the boys...so that always helps, and she wants to get back to working out also so we have agreed to give each other 1.5 hours a day (1 hour workout, 30 min downtime/shower) to play with.

Did some light bodyweight stuff tonight since I haven't done much but care for kids and eat awful food lately. It felt good to be doing something and now that things are in place....you can trust you'll see no less than 4 GOOD days a week out of me from now on. This log is about to take off kids :phone:

The Session
Bodyweight Prisoner Squats
4 sets x 6 reps
Bodyweight Forward Lunges
4 sets x 6 reps - left leg
4 sets x 6 reps - right leg
Pushup

25 reps
Situp
25 reps
Unilateral Leg Work
Rx 1 - 60 seconds *ea. leg*

What Tomorrow Holds
I have loose plans to play tennis tomorrow afternoon, but that can all change in a minute's time. If not, definitely a weight workout and maybe some yoga.

yeah well, I certainly hope so. I've never been the type to stress over numbers and calculations so i'm not worried that they'll get any image issues or anything of that nature. I just want them to be happy and healthy :)

This!!!

Your actions/interests will have a tremendous impact on the kids, my father was a professional hockey player and both me and my brother tried to follow in his footsteps, he was also an avid runner and hit the gym 5 days a week, once again as soon as we were old enough to go we both started training at the school gym. He still trains 5 days a week and goes golfing 3-5 days a week during the summer, his activity level instilled something in both of us that keeps us active now and in the future.

Keep doing what you're doing, living an active healthy lifestyle will have a great impact on the boys, especially when you can start incorporating them into it.... twins vs dad tennis anyone?

Yeah thats what i'm saying!! My father wasn't very active by the time he had me other than his career (relocations/storage), but he was also slightly past his prime at that point. He DID however make sure that I was very active when I was younger. He always took me to the batting cages, bowling, signed me up for baseball/football, always came to all my games and gave me pointers, etc. My father coached youth football for 13 seasons winning the state championship once. That never had a huge effect on me when I was younger but since taking up personal training and studying the body and it's effects....it has made me want to go into some form of specialized coaching someday.

My gf and I have also been talking over things of this nature. I quit smoking well over a year ago now and slowed down my drinking DRAMATICALLY (used to drink at least 3 times a week), and she quit smoking when she found out she was pregnant. She hasn't smoked since and we have been talking about how a smoke-free home can potentially give the kids a good stepping stone towards avoiding all that garbage

Day 3
Summary
So yesterday I wanted to get a solid workout in and I was going to move things around in my day to make it happen. The only problem there was that there was a car accident by my place that involved our power lines....so naturally, no power for HOURS. That in turn, made caring for the babies MUCH harder and made everything else take a ride on the back burner. By the time the power was back on, it was time for me to watch the babies while my gf ran to the store for a lamp, and then cook dinner (which was breakfast food, haha). Yesterday....was an off day.

Nutritional mistake - oatmeal fairly late at night. I was real hungry and didn't want to cook. ugh.

Day 9
Summary

Well yesterday was an off day because we took my gf's daughter and the boys to the zoo which is an hour drive away. For the boys first trip, not so much a good one, ha. There were A LOT of bugs that I was battling to keep away from them most of the day, they were all clammy and hot all day long, and changing a baby at the zoo BLOWS. Otherwise, it was fun, haha.

My nutrition is all messed up too. I didn't eat anything bad, but the times were a mess....and if I hit numbers, it was because I had a large dinner because I was starving at that point.

Still figuring out whats happening with the weather, and that will determine a lot because my gf wants to take the kids to a local carnival, but rain is a factor. If it's dry, I am doing that and then probably playing tennis or hockey. if its not, probably a weight workout at the house.

Sorry for no yesterday update everyone. After a bunch of change in events, I took the day off and ended up having a cheat meal last night because the lady wanted Olive Garden. Let's just say it was a TRUE cheat meal. Breadsticks, apricot glazed chicken, calamari, fried zucchini, etc. It was a mess...and honestly, didnt even taste all that good.

I am totally out of protein so I am about to head to wal mart and pick up a small one sadly until mine arrives in the mail.

I love glycobol, did exactly what it's supposed to do for me. I'm also loving the MVP!! Only taking 1 morning and 1 nightly, but it's still very effective, so good job guys!! Almost forgot: Hoagies and grinders...... man, that Adam Sandler brings back the memories!!

Day 11
Summary

Yesterday was a good day. I got a weight session (kind of) in and to stretch out my legs, we took the girl and boys to the carnival. At the carnival I managed to sink the clown in the dunk tank while he was talking massive amounts of crap, and I also won the little one a monster prize by making the 150 mark 3 straight times in the sledgehammer swing :). All in all, a fun trip.

Also I wanted to mention that yesterday morning's weigh in was - 240.5lbs, and I will now be checking every monday morning to see changes. I have begun to truly tighten on my nutrition and I have workouts planned for most days of the week now.

Lastly I wanted to give my first impression of MST's new MycoGreen which will be released VERY soon. I got a few samples from a good man ;), and I took the first one yesterday post w/o. On one day I couldn't tell much reaction, but I wanted to say that they smell just like a piece of spearmint gum, they even taste a bit like it when you put them in your mouth before swallowing, and my burps for the next hour tasted like spearmint gum :laugh2:. It was wild :)
