Modifilan - Fucoidan, Fucoxanth, Fucothin

One of the most impressive aspects of Modifilan that sets it apart from other types of seaweed products is its very high content of soluble polysaccharides like Fucoidan, laminarin and alginate. The former compound is particularly rich in such simple sugars as glucuronic acid, mannose and fucose that give Laminaria its distinctive taste.

The ongoing research into Fucoidan has conclusively demonstrated its ability to induce cancer cell apoptosis (programmed cell death) in leukemia, stomach and colon cancer cell lines. This biological data support epidemiological observations that Laminaria is an important factor contributing to the relatively low breast cancer rates reported in Japan.

It has also been demonstrated that Fucoidan acts as a so-called activator of the reticulo-endothelial system, specifically as an enhancer of phagocytosis. This suggests another aspect of antitumor activity of Fucoidan related to the activation of macrophage-mediated tumor cell killing.
There are also non-polysaccharide fractions from Laminaria that have been found to have a significant cancer-preventative anti-mutagenic (anti-DNA damage) activity against typical genotoxic substances.
Another promising use of the sulfated polysaccharides Fucoidan and laminarin is in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Several mechanisms are involved: the inhibition of smooth muscle cell proliferation (monoclonal hyperplasia) which is an important step in atherogeneses; activation of enzymes involved in the beta-oxidation of fatty acids which can be useful in the prevention and treatment of hyperlipedemia. Laminarin has been shown to have a hypotensive effect. It also exhibits 30% of the anticoagulant activity of heparin.
All of these properties of sulfated polysaccharides make Modifilan clinically applicable in the prevention and treatment of coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, atherosclerosis, cancerogenesis and cancer metastasis.

The non-digestible polysaccharide alginate that comprises 50% of Modifilan's total dry weight has the unique ability of binding heavy metals and radioactive substances to its own molecules. As the alginate is non-digestible it is excreted from the body together with toxic compounds. This is particularly important for cadmium and mercury, as these metals are found at dangerously high levels in air, water and food. Alginate can also remove isotopes that have previously been absorbed by the human body from the environment. Even small amounts of radioactive pollution will expose surrounding cells to harmful radioactive emission.

At the Cardiovascular Center at the Sakhalin Hospital, patients were given up to ten grams of Modifilan every day for three months. The results showed:

a. Decrease of cholesterol by 26.5%
b. Decrease of B-lipoproteins by 25.1%
c. Decrease of triglycerides by 32.1%

No negative reactions were found in the kidneys, the liver and other organs. No side effects were found.
As a result of scrupulous scientific and clinical examination MODIFILAN was officially recognized as a leading prophylactic nutritional product by government of Russia. On November 12, 1997 our product was given State Certificate of Recommendation, approved by Ministry of Health. Following is the original content of that document:

RECOMMENDATIONS
For use of the preventive food supplement MODIFILAN in ecologically polluted regions.

1. Title: Modifilan (tablets, powder).
2. Ingredients: polysaccharides (alginate, Fucoidan, seaweed fibers), vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B12, C, E, macro- and micro-elements (iodine, manganese, magnesium, iron, calcium, chromium, selenium, zinc, etc.)

oh yeah, in addition to killing cancer, it also helps you loose weight by bumping your metabolism, ala dnp. It's also one of the key ingredients in pyrogenx, anthony roberts and protein factory's new/next fat burner. Modifilan is the highest concentration of fucoidan/fucoxanth/fucothin that I've been able to locate.

I would be curious to hear your opinion of this stuff. It might be a product worth carrying. It's also supposed to be one of the most potent antioxidants available.
 
I just priced out the FucoXanthin. It is a bit pricey, but I requested samples to test out. If it seems to work as promised, we will bring a small quantity in for bulk sale.

what quantity/concentration? Most of the retail stuff I've seen is only about 5mg of fucoxanthin per cap. I think the modifilan is about 25mg. I haven't seen any reports regarding LD50 or toxicity and from what I've tried personally, you could easily do 25mg 3 x per day without any side effects. No runny ass or anything. Which is a selling point.

Right now, best price I have found is around 75 cents per gram for 10% (retail).

It all depends on how effective it is.

I am a BIG fan of both probiotics and digestive enzymes. RPN is going to release a powdered enzyme blend, and I will probably go ahead and offer a bulk version to Nutraplanet.

No it's not.
There are azelaic acid in lot of hair products (e.g revivigen).
But would be nice if you could have it in bulk powder so we can add it to our Minoxidil or other hair product. a 3-5% azelaic acid solution 2 times per day is very effectve.

Any plans to re-stock this item soon? Or would it be dropped from the product portfolio? I know there is an alternative: NutraPlanet Horny Goat Weed 20% (50 grams), but some of us prefer the 50% icariin standardization.
 
perhaps not as exotic as most of the requests,but id like to see what u could do on an offer for the multiv ive been taking recently.its made by Natural Factors and its called 'men's multistart'
i really like this one,best ive ever tried,natural.solid ingredient lineup and amounts.i get it locally for about a dollar a day,so if u could offer it cheaper than that and still make a buck in the process,id get it from you guys instead(would be nice to see the womans formula as well for friends)

Yes...Since the first supplier became too much, we are looking for an alternate. This is proving more difficult than originally expected.

Your trying to find a higher extract than Forslean (20%). I didn't even think they existed. What is wrong with 20% and higher percentage would be an awful low mg dose?

Chrysin

Some bulk Chrysin would be good. Only sources I've found were Ultimate Nutrition and Some MSM generic from Ebay. I've ordered the Ebay stuff and at 500mg taken 3x per day, it severely dried my joints out and killed my libido. It's a pretty potent aromatase inhibitor in my opinion. I've also tried LG's Formestane or Formadrol, whatever they call it and it wasn't nearly as potent, or at least didn't exhibit the same effects. I learned after taking the chrysin that your BRAIN requires small amounts of estrogen in order to stimulate arousal. Imagine that, needing some chick hormone to get your wang up... well I stopped the chrysin and my wangage returned to normal. Potent stuff imho. I've saved half that bottle from ebay for part of my PCT.

If it's bunk, please advise.

Would you consider adding a high ginger extract 5% or above gingerols would be very good for digestion.

Hi hphocus, I'm sure the reference to estrogen as "some chick hormone" was meant as a joke. Men, both of the sedentary and the athletic types, have estrogen and need estrogen for different metabolic proceses. Estrogen only becomes a problem when men have "too much" (or even too little) of it.
