if Theacrine is better to supposed to be better than caffeine, why not go to 50 mg and focus on that vs the caffeine?
Not better than caffeine, IMO
Define "better"
theacrine is VERY expensive, thats why companies dont use higher doses.
literally 30-40x more expensive than caffeine
^Those benefits would be nice
Was just rating it as a stim,
Caffeine wins for me and I definitely still built a tolerance to it
Maybe time for a second try
No no no no no.
Teacrine is effective. The dose is often kept very low because it's one of the worst tasting ingredients on the planet. To give perspective, adding 100mg to a 14,000mg mix of xtend, significantly alters the flavor. People know how strong the flavors are in xtend. You can see results with Teacrine at 50 and especially at 100.
You know how the industry works X is the effective dose so lets use .5 x X and claim the same benefits.

This. It's definitely not "better" than caffeine in regards to energy/focus, even at equal mg doses in my experience. Plus it's much more expensive and tastes pretty bad.Not better than caffeine, IMO

Haha. It tastes bad and it's very expensive, especially relative to caffeine (and even other stimulants). Even if developing a tolerance isn't an issue with it, it's not like it's being used to replace caffeine (which it can't IMO), it's just being added to supplements that still have medium/high (relatively, I'm not talking crazy 500mg+ per serving doses) caffeine content. I think (spellcheck sucks) it's just not for me.kind of all over here- at least we know it taste bad lol
I agree, but it seems more like a gimmick than anything to me really.A lot of companies trying to push more than just caffeine though,
They want a one-up on competition
I'm seeing a lot of formulas go to multiple caffeine forms and claiming it gets an edge that way.
Meh.
To give industry perspective, supplement companies think something is expensive if it adds .50 to the cost of a formula, total. Teacrine isn't meant as a replacement to caffeine, it's meant to be used in addition too.
IMO:200mg Caffeine + 25-50mg Theacrine will treat you nicely.
Theacrine solo, won't do much.
when the average price of a pre-workout totals up to less than $5 in raw materials, $0.50 does make a large difference to be fair here

IMO:
200mg caffeine >> 200mg theacrine
200mg caffeine + 50mg theacrine may be nice, but is it much nicer than just 250mg caffeine? Especially given that it tastes worse and is much more expensive.
I always felt this was the case with DMAA. Solo, you don't feel much but add it to caffeine and you get an effect that neither produces on it's own.

The latest version I'm working on cost 3x that roughly in raws. I prefer to formulate on efficacy, **** costs. That's why my best selling product is the same formula for the past 12 years![]()
Yes, I have. I personally don't think the cost is worth the benefits; if I want more than what caffeine provides, there are other ingredients (for energy, focus, mood, etc) that I prefer, which are often cheaper still.Like I said, I wouldn't use Theacrine solo, so of couse 200mg Caffeine > 200mg Theacrine -- plus, that would be one expensive dose being wasted. LIke Mike said, Theacrine isn't meant to be used solo or replace Caffeine.
Have you tried Caffeine + Theacrine?
I agree, but it seems more like a gimmick than anything to me really.
So has theacrine + caffeine taken the place of synephrine + caffeine?
Does synephrine not sit well with some people? Seems like it is on its way out? Just curious?
Synephrine never gave me any appetite suppression, but I feel like it did give me some stim kick in the previous version of C4. That product always hit me differently than just regular caffeine. Could have just been on good days though, or who knows what else could have been at play.

too many editions of C4 now to keep it strait, lol
Very nice. I have to pick some up. It wouldn't be a bad drink to sip on during a long day of classes with the caffeine/theanine either. If you download the Target app Cartwheel, they're 2.00ea. They come as a 4 pack in 4 flavors:
