The epic food porn thread

I love PB on bagels and PB with bananas. I think I would go through this bag in one sitting.

The o's are different this year. Not nearly as good. Such a bummer as they were far and away my fav of last years pumpkin items.

Cookie butter and macaroons are 1a/b for me now

IIFYM, or flexible dieting, is a method of dieting that revolves around meeting daily macronutritional intake targets, and not on what you eat to get there.

You need to ensure you get enough protein every day to preserve muscle.
You need to ensure you eat enough carbs, which provide your muscles with the glycogen stores needed to maintain training intensity.
(And in case you’re worried that eating carbs will make you fat, check out my article on carbohydrates and weight loss to learn why this isn’t true.)

You need to ensure you eat enough healthy fats, which play an important role in hormone synthesis.
-Get at least 80% of your daily calories from healthy (micronutrient-dense) foods that you actually like.
-You don’t have to eat protein every 2-3 hours to avoid “going catabolic.” Your metabolism won’t slow down if you eat 3 meals per day instead of 7.

-That said, don’t abuse this newfound freedom by replacing any and all “clean” foods with junk counterparts just because you can. Remember that your long-term health depends on more than just macronutrient intake.

Eat an abundance of nutritious foods and be moderate with your indulgences and you’ll never again struggle with the anxieties of “dieting” or the eventual health complications of foregoing nutrition for taste.

I hardly ever eat ice cream but yesterday got a craving for some so I had half a cup of Cherry Garcia and a vanilla drumstick. If what you say is true I should enjoy it and not worry about if I did something wrong. Correct? At the end of the day I looked at my macros and the numbers were just fine. Plus I worked out after I consumed the treats.

Just had this pumpkin filled doughnut from a Dunkin in the airport. Pretty decent

Wow I must confess I never would imagine pumpkin and doughnut can be in the same sentence, let alone be in something that looks that yummy! I don't think we have pumpkin doughnuts in Oz.

I think I spent more time cooking than lifting in the past 2 months because of injury. My cooking has probably stopped me from turning into a fluffy puff lol.

French Toast 'bowl' filled with vanilla yoghurt, mixed fruit, crushed almonds topped with a scoop of peach sorbet :)

It's all lies just to make you fat! Kidding bro. RELAX. I'm not going to derail the purpose of this thread (straight food porn!) but from many of your topics/posts, it seems like you are really obsessed with body image. Most (if not all) of us have some degree of BDD, but when it gets to the point where you are freaking out about having a little ice cream, it's getting a bit far. If you want to compete and make this your life, I'd suggest investing in a high-quality coach so you don't have to over analyze everything. Now relax and go enjoy something with pumpkin in it!

working out or not you fit it into your claories which is fine.
But remember MICRONUTRIENTS are first.
Did you get proper protein/fiber/fat intake?
Did you get a wide variety of foods?

once a week you could consume one free meal of your choice (burger and fry for example) with some dessert.
Remember this is a lifestyle, this is a passion, we do not get paid to count calories or track macros.
Negating X or Y food is ridiculous because we don't get paid to hit X or Y macros daily. While it helps our goal its not mandatory.

This is crucial to getting to your goals

Just got confirmation from my mom (who is a total coconut FIEND) that the oreos are a bust... hardly any flavor. Bummer.

Actually glad to hear this because I've been trying to find them with no luck. IB gave them a bad review but JFG said they were good. Now I don't feel as bad for not finding them!

From IB
Item: Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Pie Spice Cookie Butter
Purchased Price: $3.69
Size: 14.1 oz jar
Purchased at: Trader Joe’s
Rating: 10 out of 10
Pros: Better than standard pumpkin pie filling. Delicious cookie bits. Great on everything. Great on its own. Trader Joe’s innovations. Magic in a jar.
Cons: Leaves a gritty, pasty feeling in my mouth. The word “dollop.”

Its that good

Of course some are better than others, but I don't think I have tried a Cap'n Crunch version that I didn't like.

Yep Capt rarely disappoints. Prob will try ha

It does change the milks color, that's pretty interesting

If the only diff is the colour of the milk I will pass as well. A number of ways to achieve that result ha.

Check this out. My mom sent it to me ha:

rankings of all the tj's pumpkin products... gotta say I dont agree with these at all, but they do have little descriptions. Overall, they were pretty harsh on most of the things I enjoyed.

Trader Joes Reviews -

Jo Jo's - The Jo Jo's IMO are superior over the Pumpkin Oreo's. The outside cookie is much richer and the filling packs so much more spice and a denser pumpkin flavor. if you are looking for a better cookie replica of a pumpkin oreo this >> The oreo's in all aspects

TJ's Mouthful's --> Ginger Cookie with a pumpkin filling. The ginger cookie has a nice pumpkin ginger spice, and the pumpkin flavoring is very similar to the pumpkin ice cream. A good 1-2 combo, and a good pickup. They are worth the scoop for under 100 kcals a mouthful.

TJ Macaroons --> how these are 45 calories is beyond me. The macaroon has a very dominant buttery flavor like a real macaroon from a bakery and the pumpkin filling is on the weak side but present. The real steal of the show here is the base macaroon cookie. If they filled them with cookie butter and make cookie butter macaroons it would be lethal. A must pick up.
