Rule 1 for Epic Food Porn Thread ---> Mom and Pop places > Chains
Go find something local.. find a wood brick oven pizza joint, or NY Style pizza.. Guarantee it will destroy papa john's

But real question.. do you even eat out? Have yet to see a contribution from you mayne.
I've contributed. Not recently. I know local places > chains for any type of food, but sometimes chains can have decent offerings.

lets change that bold.
Should have a lot coming next week in Colorado.
Glazed and Confused (Donuts), Bonnie Brae & Little Mans (Ice Cream)... just a few places I will be hitting up.

Apricot Kuchen:

After the disappointing supermarket version of this typical dessert, decided to pick one up from one the bakeries the does it best supposedly and what a difference it made. Apricots were jam like (rich and sweet yet tart), the thin dough from the bottom gradually went from a dry and crunchy consistency to a soft custard, and the edge pieces had a nice crunch and deep oven + buttery flavor like a well done tart.

Schwedentorte:

Classical cake. Yellow cake layers with vanilla pudding and whipped cream layers in between: moist and light. It is topped with a very thin layer of marzipan.

The marzipan layer adds great texture. Think of a soft toffee. In terms of flavor, it is just sweet. You don't get "hit" with classical marzipan taste. Can recommend.

LLN are you in NY. Looking for some god places to go the next time I head up

When all you want is ""I just want something that I can get a good salad at or a lot of veggies with my meal""
All Restaurants on upper peach by 90 where you get on to go back to buffalo are Chain's.
Most mom and pop places are not open till 5 PM or closed on Sunday's. I would take you to 1201 kitchen, but you complained you would not get enough food and be hungry for a good fine dining experience.

Hell half the top 10 restaurants in erie are chains lol

If you want a good mom and pop experience next time:
Mi Scuzi --> Italian (Open 1-5)
Pineapple Eddy's Southern Bistro --> Southern Food (Closed Sunday's)
1201 Kitchen --> Fine Dining.. Great Steak and Entree's, but not a lot of food (which you hate & Closed Sunday's)
Bel Aire Hotel Max's Diner (Closed Sunday's)
Casablanca Grill ---> Open face Grill (Closed Sunday's)

I don't have a cheesecake factory, and i wanted S'mores Cheesecake. No good cheesecake places here in Erie. Wegmans has better cheesecake then some of the bakeries

Next Buffalo Visit... this is on our agenda..

and of course some Donuts

Went to the store again today, but did not see the Pumpkin Cheerios. This is the first review I have seen; sounds very promising.

Purchased Price: $3.98
Size: 21 oz box
Purchased at: Walmart
Rating: 9 out of 10
Pros: Outstanding representation of the complexity of pumpkin spices that exceeds the dull and heavy cinnamon flavor sometimes assigned to pumpkin spice. Sweet, hearty taste of oat base. Wonderful rich flavor in milk that tastes like the edge of a pumpkin pie or bar.
Cons: Could be a tad sweeter and have a “glaze” like Honey Nut Cheerios. The creative struggle to explain the appeal of pumpkin spice.

Don't worry. When Bob ventures down to NYC, no basic betch establishments will be visited.

That's a good review. I knew they were missing a sweet aspect, a glaze would have been perfect. They are pumpkin spice, not pumpkin pie so I can't really complain. After trying them again, I absolutely love them. The left over milk in bowl, is a nice pumpkin spice flavor. I was out of Almond milk, so I may save rest of box until i can grab some.

I've seen them before, but did not pick them up. I assume they are essentially chocolate with a caramel filling and shaped like apples. If they had an apple taste, I would purchase.
From the title, I assume the filling has apple flavor. Otherwise they would be "caramel filled chocolate apples" and not "caramel apple filled chocolates"

If you ever see these, I would say pick them up. I had the PB Creme the other day. It was perfect. The thin mint needed a little more mint flavor.

Frucht Torte:

Delicious. Moist cake, rich vanilla custard layers, tart but sugary glazed fruits, and crunchy almonds + whipped cream.

Macros were on point: whole thing was 1.2 pounds and came in at around 1100 cals. Strong.

Have had these. They are an ok snack indeed although I'm partial to the other flavors.

Switzerland is 10/10 in that everything includes macros per 100 grams...including sandwiches, baked goods, pizzas, etc. at commercial establishments.

Part of today's post workout meal. Chocolate filled Krave. I actually like them despite not being the biggest chocolate fan. The chocolate isn't overwhelming. The one thing I dislike about them is they absorb milk like paper towels. My first time having them, I found that out the hard way, having overly soft cereal. Yes, I know Krave is not new and exciting, but I hae never had it up to a few weeks ago.

Review for the BOO-tterscotch MMs. I will definitely be on the hunt for the now.

Purchased Price: $3.19
Size: 8 oz bag
Purchased at: Target
Rating: 7 out of 10
Pros: Butterscotch flavor isn’t too overpowering. Creamy white chocolate. Distinctive smell. Memories of Grandma’s house. The name “Boo-tterscotch.”
Cons: Boring color tone. Specific store exclusives. Memories of Grandma’s candy dish. Potentially too scary for the elderly. Halloween gets earlier every year. So sorry about that jingle.
This could be pretty good as well.

Today, Saturday and Sunday there is a food festival near me. I decided to start by prioritizing my vegan gains:

At this first place, went with roasted duck and pork. It was served with a side of potato salad. How gud was it? ;)

Second place, kept it basic: choripan (google if unaware).

Looking forward to tomorrow.

I'm moving.

The part of me that was already infiltrated by macro tracking agrees with you...but at the same time...I'm not sure that tracking macros is the healthiest mental choice.

I would never assume everybody would track macros,

But nutrition facts being on everything that accurately would at least educate people where the calories are all hiding in their diets

Hard to plead ignorance as to how you got obese if it's right there lol.

The ability to make an informed choice would be a win, too many food items are either sneaky or people wrongly assume they are "healthier"

Like a salad bowl that clears 1500 cals lol
