SokViChet's - Supplement/Training Log

Ok this is huge. I'm on call again and only got 4 hours of sleep last night and ended up working late to boot. Phenadrine got me going in the morning for work, but I was worried about having a productive late night workout.

BB Squats
95 x12
115 x10
135 x10
155 x8 PR !!!!!with a few rest-pause reps
155 x6
95 x7

Stiff Legged Deadlifts
Felt amazing. Some rep PRs in there, but weights are staying the same out of respect for my back / discs.
95 x15
135 x10
155 x10
205 x10 rep PR
205 x8 rep PR

Leg Press (new machine with a tighter ROM)
This machine was used for a change, but the ROM is very limited due to the strange angle it puts you. Not much motion until your knees are on your chest already... I love the Life Fitness machine as it feels like I've got to travel a mile to reach full ROM.
200 x20
375 x12
450 x8

Standing Calf Raise machine
As always slow negative with a pause at the bottom for a full stretch and ROM with every rep.
195 x12
215 x10
215 x8
235 x8 PR
*final set completed with a full 20 second hold at full stretch. got the idea from one of volcom's leg workouts, and it's excruciating. I'm sure the application isnt directly the same with the calves but it did the trick. Walked funny out of the gym haha

Seated Donkey Calf
120 x10
140 x8

Abs - feet planted crunches
I've neglected my abs for far too long. gonna start hitting them at least twice a week. but they started cramping on me on the second set this time. This is strange as I'm full of potassium, well hydrated, and pretty much everything I need to combat cramps...
Slow 2 second ascent, 2 second hold with squeeze, and a 2 second descent.
x15
x15 *cramps stopped me! had to flatten out on the ground just to get up without folding up, lol.

This workout was AMAZING considering the circumstances. I included the usual supplements with the addition of my first dose of Blue Up x3 about 25 min preworkout. A new log will go up for my testosterone boosting run as soon as I get a chance! Link will be posted here.

I ended up spending a bit too much time as I started talking to some guys about squats and they started asking what I had in my bottle. Surprisingly they had a very very good supplement baseline for the average 200+ pound guy who shops at GNC... So I got caught up, and talked more in one night, than I have in the entire 7-8 months I've been working out this year! LOL

Usual morning-midday supplementation, but have been leaving out my upon-waking mix due to lack of sleep. I will say that without Phenadrine, I would not have had a decent morning with such little sleep... Below are some details regarding the new toys... i mean supplies that came in today. I need to start a log for the test stack tomorrow. It looks a bit ridiculous... but... ok yeah it's a bit much.

Preworkout
1.2g ALCAR
1 scoop Ragnarok
500mg Green Tea extract (couldnt ignore a new toy)
300mg Grapeseed extract
600 mg L-Tyrosine
800 mg Taurine (low dose, first time using)
6x Hemodraulix
3x Blue Up (gonna be doing 4-6 per day, most likely 2/2/2)

Dinner
3g Fish Oil
1x TNT Stack (T-Force, T-REZ, Divanex)
2x Blue Up
2x Prime

Pre bed
powder mix (until I can cap my stuff)
- 300 mg Grapeseed Extract (rag's got a bit in it)
- 1g 1-Carboxy
- 1.6g GABA
- 1/4 scoop of Rag for taste, zomg

Late night working due to on-call. I tell ya, this sh*t's not gonna last... on call doesnt work with me at all, and I might end up with my phone shut off tonight so I can get some much needed sleep.

Congrats on those PR's, bro!! Way to turn it up a notch while running on little sleep.
Thanks dude! I'm still pretty new to squats ever since I injured my back in college (even then, I had only been doing them for a few weeks before I ended up barely able to walk for a year due to an on-the-job injury), so any PRs in squats are a huge deal for me. This was the most set volume I've been able to do and was able to bump by 20 pounds for full reps.

Legs are trashed today, but not as sore as they were when I first started squats. Back is sore, but not feeling injured.

Awww man... I don't know if I'll be able to hold off whatever's trying to take hold...

I've felt as though I'm coming down with something for a few days now. First a slightly sore throat and a feeling of... just kinda that precursor to sickness. I'm fighting it tooth and nail with Poseidon, TONS of water, C (2g x3 time with meals), zinc, antioxidants (ALA, grapeseed, etc), and the usual supplement schedule. Now I have an extreme lethargy taking hold. Eyelids heavy all day long, and no energy at all. Additionally, today I had a coat on with the heater running full blast, and I felt cold chills for the first time that I ever remember. It was a really weird feeling.

Now, the coincidence is I've just finished my second full day of my test boost cycle (Blue Up, TNT Stack, and just started 25mg of ATD). There's a thread talking about lethargy on test boosters, but no real substance seemed to come of the discussion (well, not that I remember, I might go check it out again).

Bleh, I'm gonna stay home and rest until I feel better. I can't afford to get sick right now as my project will suffer for it.

That sucks, man. I hope you can fight it off.

Feel better! Everyone was telling me Echinacea and VitC so make sure you take those!

Ahhhh I see you're taking bulk P-Slin as well. If I notice this stuff really works I'd like to get more, but I don't know how much longer it's going to be in stock.
I wouldn't worry too much, without letting the cat out of the bag.

That sucks, man. I hope you can fight it off.

Those and a good quality ginseng extract (I know people that swear by the patented one used in ColdFX, but it's pricey). Also nothing beats a good 10 hours of sleep!

Thanks guys! I got about 11 hours of sleep last night and feel great. Only problem now is an injured neck my wife gave me on halloween night. She tore me up, man. It hurts so bad, i have to turn slowly to either side and can't look up or down at all, lol.

I'm taking it easy, and making sure to eat, drink, and supplement as best as I can.

Sok - I got hold of those slow-release VitC - good for 8 hours. Always pop a couple with my cottage cheese/garlic/dill before I hit the sack.

And dude, I thought I was a supp whore!! What the hell, cheaper than wasting money on booze...

Think of all us DownUnder getting slaughtered with the exchange rate!

Finally back in the gym. Man, just when I thought I was getting over whatever it was I ended up with two more days of weakness and symptoms. I feel great now, however, in a much weaker state.

Not much to say about Chest/Back day... Not really happy about the performance, but it's to be expected. My diet was pretty bad while sick, and didn't eat much at all. Legs today if I can get off work early enough. Tons to do, and will probably be staying pretty late.

And dude, I thought I was a supp whore!! What the hell, cheaper than wasting money on booze...
Haha, yeah I'm ashamed. I went nuts this month, and hope to not have to make a purchase for at least another month to make up for it. However, I did completely stock up for my eventual cut supplementation :P It's looking like:
DCP
Recreate
AP
Coleus Forskohlii
Napalm (final month)
[Stimulant to be announced] this will most likely be Phenadrine, but wanted to try out Leviathan Reloaded once I can get my hands on a sample

This is just the base, however, I'll be packing tons of antioxidants (ALA, grapeseed extract, Green Tea EGC, and maybe some Relora for cortisol) and the usual support and performance supps.

My diet is going to change quite a bit, but I'm still going to try and shoot for more of a recomp than a cut. In the end, I'd prefer to keep a bit of fat % than to lose too much muscle in the pursuit of fat loss... Which is why the extreme supplemention. Nutrient repartitioning and thermos will help me dial it in without burning off too much muscle as fuel.

Looks like you've got a very solid plan for yourself! Everything is looking great.
Thanks dude. It's my first real cut, so I'm overly excited about it, lol.

I'm still not gaining weight. I've been eating much more than I had planned initially. I'm getting stronger, and at first bigger, but my weight has stagnated with little/no fatloss to explain it (I've only gained 3 pounds in over 2 months). I want to hit 215-220 before my cut, and that's gonna take some sort of change. Right now, I'm just eating as much as I can take in keeping an approximate 40/40/20 (protein, carb, fat) ratio. I increased my fish oil and fat intake overall recently and have forgone all but warmup cardio for a month now... Rep range is 8-12, with some strength pushes in the 5-6 range. Bleh, hopefully, the increased caloric intake will take hold... unless I've got a tapeworm, lol. At this point, I'm beyond worrying about extra fat gain.

Just got home from work... gonna miss another workout. Legs MUST happen tomorrow.

I've learned over the years that just because you don't gain weight, doesn't mean your body isn't progressing in some way. I remember back when I was 18 and juiced up on various stuff, I was 195lbs at low BF, and now I'm only 168lbs, but for some reason I still look a lot better right now. Maybe I was holding a lot of glycogen but still looked dry because of the gear? I have no idea. But now I'm healthier, I think I look better, and I know I have learned A LOT in that time frame about diet and training.

Our bodies are odd and complex. Don't be discouraged if your weight doesn't skyrocket like you would expect it to. There is still progress being made.

Thanks a ton for the perspective, IC! It really puts me back into reality. I don't know why I expected the weight to just fly on, as only one time in my life did it ever do that (back in the day after college). I'm still a hard-gainer even now, it seems..

I apologize for not updating much lately. I've been sick off/on for the past two weeks now... I'm mostly recovered, and plan on hitting legs today. I did not lose any weight while sick, which makes me a bit happier about my first week or so on my test stack...

..by "test stack" I assume you mean the new stack you are testing out?
LoL, sorry. I'm so busy at work I haven't been typing out complete thoughts. I was going to log my TNT Stack + Blue Up w/ ATD run, but ended up getting sick during the first week, and then got f'd up from a supposed reaction to Prednisone (prescribed to help fix a neck disc injury that occurred the same week). So hopefully, I'm good to go and will just endure the pain in the neck (hah! i kill me).

BTW, from what I've read, Prednisone is f'ing EVIL. I'll never be touching that sh-t again.

Haha! Eight caps, it is then :P Nice to see you in here, MetroBadAss.

I've not been in my own log for too long now, so I thank you for dropping by and kicking me to update it. I'll start with last night's leg workout from memory here in the next few. My excuses range from my first real plateau, sickness, injury but the reality is I've just been lazy to type up that I haven't really gotten anywhere in a few weeks. And the excuses are all related.

I'm reading up to determine my next training split and set/rep ranges. I had initially accepted my numbers plateau, and decided to stick with the current split (chest/back, shoulders/arms, legs) and just continue to fatigue and push the strength through my recovery. My neck has healed up about 75%, and I'm no longer fatigued by winter illness. But, the research has taken on a new importance as I decide whether or not to run my first cycle of a mild PH. I grabbed a couple bottles of Epistane during the $25 sale, and am eyeing 1-T with interest. I definitely want to make sure I had a solid split while I pound it out on cycle. But regardless, I need to make a change to get through this plateau. I'm totally not used to seeing my numbers stay in one place like this, lol.

However, I'm in no hurry, as I still have plenty of natural gains to make, and still have a ton of research to do on PCT and on-cycle support choices. I've been reading for months now, and am wading through mountains of conflicting advice but getting closer to my answers.

11/23 Legz

As my pile of sample supps piled up, I wanted to try a complete preworkout pack by Animal called Animal Pump. The profile looks solid and very thorough. However, my first experience with it coincided with some very bothersome events before/after the gym (as I illustrated in IrishCannon's T-911 log):
SokViChet said:
Speaking of heartbeats, I got back home from leg workout last night and had to stay in the car for about 5 minutes while something went on in my chest. I felt a strange pressure in time with my heartbeat, and it made me very dizzy and even more nauseaus than I already was (I about threw up during presses today)... I'm ready to blame it on a preworkout supp sample I took as it was the only change I made to my routine (Animal Pump). Pump is a big pack o' pills, but there's nothing in there that I could see would make me feel that way... I am sure, however, that it gave me a massively sudden diarhea episode just as I pulled up to the gym. Barely made it.

I've been feeling fatigued more and more in the gym, and requiring longer rests. I feel out of breath on all but my warmup sets as well. Initially, I attributed it to being sick, but I'm weeks recovered... And I do not believe I'm working out any harder than I was a month ago, my numbers surely haven't been rising. I have increased my volume a bit, while maintaining bar weight.

Smith Squats PR! (however, these numbers should be tempered with the fact that I'm on a smith machine)
I've dropped barbell squats while my neck is still injured. The smith machine also allows me to push myself harder than I could allow without the safety of a spotter.

Squat Press (Cybex)

Important note: My ass had been holding onto some fat and was a strange 'squarey' shape UNTIL I started stiff leg deadlifts. Now my wife has noticed what she considers a miraculous change. My ass is supposedly now achieving round and tight qualities, and seems to be appealing enough to get slapped repeatedly as I often do to her perfectly round ass. I have learned a lesson from this, though... it hurts. Bad. So I'll be smacking her ass a bit lighter and with softer hand from now on. Just some detail for you guys :P

Sounds like you got a great head on your shoulders. Im glad to hear you are doing your research before starting your first cycle. Anything I can help you with...Im only a PM away. You are going to enjoy 8 caps! Pumps/strengh just get even better! Ive gone as high as 10 caps and that was NUTZZ!! I hear 12 caps is even nuttier!! :fool2: As for the routine, just keep looking around for one that better suits your goals. Good luck bud!

Workout looks good! Careful doin dem Deads and squats on the same day tho. I read you have a history of back probs. Just watchn out for mah holmies!

Great advice. As I dig deeper into my squats (in the past I was only doing 1-2 sets to limit the spinal compression, but now I'm able to go farther with it), I'll be moving my deads to Back day. This'll let me hit more than 2-3 sets as I increase my squat volume.

Things are looking great! I'm sorry to hear about that chest episode. I've had that before, too, but never for that long. It happened a decent amount when I wasn't in good cardiovascular shape and/or cycled a lot. I haven't had any problems recently. I'm natural. I'm healthy. I feel great.

That's good news IC :P Your current condition is quite impressive. I actually feel as healthy as I've ever been. My diet is as dead on and I'm active. I admit, I've stayed away from cardio during the past few months as I attempt to gain. But even so, in my worst shape, I didn't feel like that after an intense workout. I very much need to ensure I'm completely healthy, and monitor my BP before ever running a cycle (still completely natural).

Meals today:
25g Whey Isolate upon waking
12oz chicken breast (marinated in jerk sauce) and salad
shrimp stir fry (zuccini, cucumber, carrot, asparagus)
50g Whey Isolate/Casein (50/50) and Banana
10oz eye of round / rice / asparagus
cottage cheese / yogurt before bed

Whoa! Holy Sh*t, Vichet is back!

You are gonna be so disappointed with me, guys/gals. I just know it.

Where to start?
I suppose I'll just jump right on into some grand excuses, followed by an update on my current status, and finally give you a rundown of what I plan to do in the short and long term.

Excuses:
A big change in workload caused long nights and weekends to be spent at the office. Fairly high levels of stress, but nothing I couldn't handle. At the same time, my wife and I started the house search/purchase process in earnest. We found the PERFECT home here in a great (the best, even) part of town for a great price, but there were numerous obstacles in the way (the sellers had some serious problems getting out). I ended up having to help the sellers clear up their problems so they could move into their new home and get out of mine. Somewhere in there, I re-injured my back. Basically, I ended up out of the gym and eating like an idiot for 6 months... When I look back at this, it is nothing more than excuses. There's no valid excuse for what I let myself do to my body.

Current Status:
I think my last resistance session was a couple of weeks after that last post there. My diet took a long time to turn south, but with a faltering (and eventually completely broken) lifting plan I started to lose muscle and gain fat. Mostly around my damned waist. I had once been 220 pounds of lean muscle, throwing up PRs every week or two, and strong as I had ever been. Now I'm 205, with a chubby gut, and weak as a little girl.

Now what?
Hard work, sacrifice, discipline, and excellent planning and execution of goals have finally paid off. We are in our new house and absolutely loving it. We've had more company over in 2 months than we had in 6 years. People love spending time at our house as much as we do! My friends support my nutrition and training goals, so this will be easy even as I continue to entertain and enjoy their company. Stress levels have dropped like a rock, and I'm as happy and comfortable as I've been since I was a teenager.

First order of business is to get rid of this disgusting fat. Nothing a little calorie restriction, carb cycling, and extended fasted cardio at a moderate heartrate can't take care of!

I'm currently supplementing my morning cardio with Anabolic Pump in an insulin free environment, bulk Leucine in water (yeah, doesn't that sound yummy?! haha). I'm also jumping right the hell in with DCP, coleus + ECGC, and preworkout anti-cortisols (Rhodiola or Relora depending on intensity and mood), along with some left-over Napalm just to use it up. I will be asking for some feedback on a ri-f**king-diculous cut stack I'm putting together as well as training choices. I'll post what I currently have available (a serious f-ing stash for sure), and what I might be looking to put together soon.

Once I'm comfortably lean, it'll be time to put back on the 25 pounds of muscle I lost. I've got this part down. I have some toys that I might throw in the mix after maybe 6 months down the road, but it's natural-city for me until I get back on my feet. Bulking is my favorite part!

Logging
I believe I might finally have time to log again. This will help keep me honest and motivated. I am not quite sure what I'll do here yet, though. Choices:
I can keep this log open as an overview of my progress, downfall, and rebirth (chubby Vichet pictures coming soon... ugh), while logging whatever cutting stack and training choices I make in a separate log (kinda like I used to do).
OR
I can shut this down and just run a separate log for each leg of the journey.

I'd hate to lose the history here in this log, but some would say today's all that matters. What do you think?

Regardless..

THIS. IS. GOING. TO. BE. FUN.... BITCHES!

Great to have you back, broskie! Looks like you've got a great attitude to attack this thing. I'll definitely be here supporting you. You need to put some pics up to make it fun! This fat will go quick, and your muscle will be back in no time! You're going to want some pictures to remember your progress. At least take them for yourself to see...Thank goodness for muscle memory!

Thanks a ton for the welcome back, IC!

I took pics a few days ago. It's one thing to look at yourself in a mirror (while sucking in the gut, of course) but a picture is brutal. There's just something about that still image... it's disgusting, and I'm quite ashamed. I'll get the nerve to post them soon enough, lol. At least my legs have maintained a bit of the lean size I put on them last year.

I've got quite a stash of cutting supplements to support my diet and cardio (which I'm about 2 weeks into), and will be adding some resistance training to the mix in the next week or so. Muscles are quite rusty, and bodyweight training is enough in the short term to get them used to repairing themselves a bit more quickly.

EDIT: Screw that! I'm keeping this thing as an ongoing log and using it to pull together any other product/goal specific ones I do. Low carb days make me cranky, sheesh.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I apologize for the dead log guys. I should have let this one go, but was not quite ready to start a new one due to work. This past two weeks have been nuts, as we just pushed the result of 8 months work to Production servers all at once. Even if I'm not logging it on AM, my supplementation, diet, and training are in full swing and kickin'.

I will need to start a new log specific to the cut, even though I'm about 2 weeks in.

See ya there in the next day or so.
