SNS 'Anything Goes' Thread

Glad to be back at it.

Now hopefully I'll be cleared to start lifting again, 3rd week since Rhabdomyolysis onset...

Jesus Christ. I hope your feeling better. Any idea what (specifically) caused the onset?

Overexertion + heat exhaustion is the best guess. Smolov in a calorie deficit, along with lifting in an unventilated garage when it's 90+ outside was a bad idea I guess.

I'd say that's a pretty educated guess.

that's nasty nom. I damaged two of my joint capsules in my hand playing basketball and have been out for a month. Can't wait to get back in it as well.

Looks like I'm out another two weeks, sucks man.

Take it easy. It's better to just recover than try to do some work and slow down your recovery.

Thanks click.

I have to keep telling myself that, already lost 10lbs of muscle, just so lame. Especially since I was training for a PL comp on the 20th, now I've lost so much...

Gonna start eating semi-normal, no more indirect protein sources only, and going to add in walking and then maybe cycling if I can handle it.

Just keep it light man, don't set yourself back. Complimenting protein sources from indirect foods is probably still a good idea, but add in the complete proteins slowly. I hope things go well for you, you got the whole team in your corner.

Been 3 weeks so far of indirect sources, gonna add complete sources in slowly like you said. I want to jump back into things, but know I can't bc of the risk. Acute renal failure hasn't been an issue, my renal function has come back normal each time. Just the CPK and liver enzymes that look horrible...

Appreciate the support.

I know how ya feel. Well, not exactly but with missing the time in the gym and fearing the muscle atrophy. I finally starting hitting some PR's and was set to try another and I got injured. Hopefully you can recover fully and quickly.

Wish the same for you.

2nd time in a row I was planning to do this comp and failed, pulled an erector last year this time. Now rhabdo, oh lawd.

How's the hand KJ? Will you need to have surgery?

No sir! Got some good news from the hand specialist. No torn ligaments as originally suspected. I apparently damaged both of my thumb joint capsules.

good news

certainly is. I was afraid of being out of the gym the rest of this year, and being forced to continue and take school notes with my left hand. Those notes were not a pretty sight.

Don't feel bad. I have a habit of breaking fingers, and nothing looks worse than my left-handed note taking. I can't even read that sh*t.

yay i am sick today :(

runny nose, cough, sinus pressure. sucks.

that's exactly how I feel! I'm finally able to write with my right hand again but can't grab it too hard or the pressure is too intense. I have to say that I'm lucky to have never broken a bone, just several sprains and the joint capsule damage.

Good job bro! Keep up the good work!

That does, sorry man! At the onset of anything like that I usually down some nyquil the first night to squash it...esp since my wife hates it when I'm sick in any way, shape or form...apparently I'm a 'baby' when I'm sick...

I wish I could be so lucky as having never broken a bone. I've broken every finger (literally every single one of them) and many of them have been broken multiple times. I have fingers that aren't even straight anymore. Mainly because I stopped going to the doctor for it when I was younger because the doc told me that if I kept breaking them I would need to get pins put in. And that's not mentioning the broken collarbone or shattered wrist. LOL

That sounds strangely familiar. My girl says the same thing about me. Luckily I don't get sick too often.

Ah, but yet, I get no sympathy...generally I think women lose that once they have gone thru the pains & trials of child birth...a lil scratchy throat and runny nose, somehow doesn't compare... :tounge-in-cheek:

Man! are you a crash test dummy or a stuntman?

Can't say I've ever broken a bone...all this bubblewrap I wear must be doing its thang! ;)

And no, sadly, I'm not a stuntman, but I still think it would be cool as hell. I just spent a lot of time playing contact sports when I was younger, and I was always the skinny kid playing with the big kids. The wrist happened when I was free rock climbing here at Red Rock, my friend slipped and I grabbed her to pull her up. In the process I lost my footing and used my wrist to break my fall. Whoops. Ended up shattering my scaphoid bone into 6 pieces, broke a 3 other bones in there, and had a 35ish% tendon tear.

My collarbone was actually kinda funny. I went in to get an x-ray and MRI for some shoulder pain while I was in high school, the doctor came back and told me that it was just my rotator cuff. Then he showed me the x-ray and said, when did you break your collarbone? "Um, I didn't". He's points to my right collarbone and goes, "yeah, you did". Oh. Turns out it had been fairly recent at the time because he could see the new bone growth and that it hadn't healed quite right.

Then there was the hairline fractures and god-knows how many stitches when I split open my forehead, but that's another story.

Will have to check that link out at home (work server blocks streaming websites)....and dang hero, appears you're in need of some bubblewrap yourself :)

Holy crap! I was going to ask how you managed that but I see you already answered that. I'm with schizm, I think you need to only play sports in bubble wrap!

I've narrowed it down to lifting and cardio. It's a much safer scenario now than contact sports ever were. LOL

That's true, I mean, the only time I get seriously injured is in playing basketball like this last time.

Basketball accounts for probably 50%+ of my broken fingers. Lol

Never had a broken bone myself. I think I have broken some toes but don't think that counts.

Well, I'll have to check my anatomy books, but I'm pretty sure the phalanges of the foot are still considered bones, so I'd say yes. :p

No off day for me. I actually decided to mix it up and hit some 2-a-days for the next couple days. Already hit chest, and going back tonight for a sick back workout.

very excited to try the pina colada...is it tastey?

I got some Berry Collision it's pretty good, I've been taking 1 scoop pre-workout and half scoop intra with Formula-X, it's a nice combo! Anyone else try dosing half a scoop intra? I find it works pretty good since caffeine kicks in for me fast.

I am not able to get my order through for the expired focus xt no matter what credit card used.

It's not a bug with the website, and the issue should be resolved by the latest middle of next week. Most likely orders will process sooner than that.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Yep! We are changing merchant service providers so no one has been able to order from our website this week...
