SNAGged and TORN..No More! (The Saga Continues)

I will get with the program then!!

On Snag's advice I am taking lots of BCAA's around my workouts, there was a sale on Xtend so I bought 6 buckets and dose 6 servings per workout 1.5 pre 3 intra and 1.5 post, I am also still taking DominATP and that has some as well, so I am probably around 50 grams. Those that have followed my log know that I have been leaning out with minimal weight loss and I am assuming the BCAA's are playing their part.

oh most definitely DW..nice synergism in your plan, and I love your consumption level peri-training. :yup:
BCAA's..FTW! :hammer:

rest day today..feeling pretty brutalized from the stepped up effort of the past few days. :nervous:

in the meantime, late pic of supper last night, as I chopped out carbs for last 2 meals of day.

10oz turkey breast
2.5 cups broccoli stir-fry in 1 TBS EVOO

Another Wok on the wild side there Snag...yummy!!

This is one area I have not experimented with at all. Looks like a good time to give it a go!!

I've never made it a constant staple in my supplemental program either. And I know that when I have played around with it, that my strength, mass, and recovery all improved substantially.

Time to give the Branch Chain EAA's another round of scrutiny.

I'm with you TG. sometimes we let things fall by the wayside, but then realize we should be sticking with them all along...

Man I just got 3 of the NP EAA 500gram for $12.99 a piece they are on sale and that stuff mixes awesome with any coolaid flavored drink. Shake it one good time let it settle then shake it again 5 minutes later and everything is dissolved. I used the sugar free stuff, I take 7 grams pre workout, 15 g intra and another 15 g after then have my post workout following meal about 20-30 minutes later I mix 24 grams in with 1/2 gallon coolaid and finish 1 to 1.5 of these a day at work. Has made a difference too.

I have definitely neglected this area in my nutrition. I will see what this can do for me from here on out.

Yah retained size is starting to show up big time in my preparations. I am going to be a little bigger than I thought maybe not as big as I'd hoped... but the more fat I lose the bigger I look so we'll see. I know there is always a sense of this when cutting but this is more pronounced when I higher percentage (close to 100% by the looks of it) of your weight loss is fat. Like I'm growing and shrinking at the same time. :nervous:

haha, yeah one day you wake up feeling swole and huge.. :wiggle:
then the next you wake up feeling punified. :sigh:
it's a roller coaster when you're recomping/cutting sometimes.

Oh yah and then you get that deflated look, and loose skin when you lose a pound or two and your skin hasn't tightened yet. No wonder we get paranoid. Well I sometimes do...:worried:

you speak truth Snag vicious

That is so true I have never been on such a roller coaster as cutting. If cutting was a girl she would be batsh1t insane!

Now I am so stoked to get my stack going, will finish up this week with DC and take a week of just cardio and pushups etc.. to get ready for some HST... then ... mayhem!!

forgot to mention earlier too - going back into a caloric surplus for the rest of the month. making a mad last push to get back to 200lb before I start my cut. :D
cals will be 3200-3600, depending on the activity level for the day.
this plan started today, 3600 cals on tap.
weight at 196.5 currently.

Just started the amino run today...turkey on whole wheat washed down by 3 scoops xtend/water. Still figuring out the dose timing.

I only use BCAA's peri-training AZ, and at bedtime/waking.
some guys take with meals -and you can do that - but i find the value to me in taking them sans food, esp nutrition for training.
the exception being, when I'm preparing for a contest in the final few weeks, then I'll slip in Beverly's Muscularity or something along w/ the meals..

I've always used them during training just not much outside that. I drank it with the sandwich today just to get a little more amino and was bored with just water all the time. I will do the pre bed dosing also.

ahh gotchya then.
sometimes I'll pop some Xtend (or some BCAA pills if I have around) along with my MRP shakes.
there's guys who just put a buttload of Xtend in a gallon water jug and walk around drinking that all day long. there's no doubt that if you're a natty athlete looking to stay in continuous positive protein synthesis, this is a great strategy to embrace.

I would like to do a experiment with that one day. I think just mega dosing the sh1t out of bcaa and eaa's would yield some great gains. I am talking serious dosing but i will need more money for that.

now's the time man, if you're ever gonna do it.

Nutra has the big jugs of Xtend on sale ($35.99/90 servings I think) as well as LG Sciences BC+EAA, like $12.99 or something ludicrous.

so stock up and DOOO EEET! :run:

Metroba just put up a thread about this very subject:

my miscellaneous post of the day..thought this was good reading, so I'm gonna post it. :wavey:
I quit drinking milk back in the early part of this decade, and do very little dairy period, so I'm a proponent of this..

Is Milk Healthy?

The Truth about Milk and Fitness

I get e-mails all the time from people saying they are eating a
healthy diet, and then when I ask them to list out what they
eat in a day it is not healthy at all.

But, I have to say it's not their fault, as we have all been
and still are being fed a pack of lies about food.

This is the first in a series of articles, exposing the truth.

Got Propaganda?

We have all heard "milk does a body good", "milk is the perfect
health Food", "milk builds strong bones", "milk will help weight
loss", etc.

These just like "Got Milk?" are nothing more then advertising
slogans trying to get you to buy a product.

They are no more true then some of the past and present ads
done by cigarette companies, d rug companies, etc.

For example did you know that Camel Cigarettes, actually used
the following slogans "more doctors smoke Camels than any
other cigarette" and "for digestion's sake - smoke Camels".

Milk Truths

Besides man, no other species drinks milk beyond infancy or
drinks the milk of another species.

Cow's milk is intended for the nutritional needs of calves,
who actually have four-part stomachs.

Milk is high in sodium, fat and cholesterol.

Milk, ice cream, cheese, yogurt, casein, whey, etc. are a
very likely cause for obesity and many health problems.

Cow's milk has been connected to food allergies, digestive
problems, bloating, gas, cramps, vomiting, headaches, rashes,
asthma, irregular heartbeats, high cholesterol, headaches,
fatigue, etc.

Cow's milk has been tested to include high levels of toxic
chemicals including hormones, antibiotics, allergens,
herbicides, pesticides, dioxins, etc.

Some medical studies indicate that milk may actually increase
women's risk of getting osteoporosis. T. Colin Campbell,
professor of nutritional biochemistry at Cornell University,
said, "The association between the intake of animal protein
and fracture rates appears to be as strong as that between
cigarette smoking and lung cancer."

Where do the cows get calcium from? From plants. So eat a
big green salad next time you are concerned about getting
enough calcium.

Just Say No to Milk

If you want to lose fat, feel better and be healthy cut out
all dairy products.

Here is some evidence to strengthen that position. My son would never drink milk as a kid and that was ok by me as I always doubted it's value in a human diet. I did make sure he ate plenty of brocolli, I thought at least there would be some calcium in his diet. He just kept on getting bigger and thicker boned till he was crushing 575 for low reps (full squats) by the time he was 18, he was deading around the same. 270 lbs of big mutha fugger.... Powerfull, quick and scary looking with very large dense bones. As a matter of fact his bone structure is the most impressive thing about his size. Got milk ? who fugg'n cares...

Dang DW, your son sounds like a freaking machine throwing that kind of weight around. I hope he found his way on a good football teams linebacker core!

He was a Center and there was lots of interest till he injured his back. He's back in the gym now and who knows, but he's 21 with a kid on the way so looks like he's going a different direction. He still has full eligibility and I wish he would go back at it, but so far I don't see a lot of interest.

To each their own and with a little one in the future, may not be the best plan for him. I am not surprised he played though, especially center, he is definitely built for a position like that.

Yah it was sweet while it lasted, he could still make a run but that's his choice not mine.

So where does this leave milk based Whey supplementation Snag?

Whey is refined for proper digestion... different animal... well same animal different product ...:nervous:

exactly. ;)
good whey filtration will produce a virtually lactose-free product, combing the desired aminos out for consumption and removing the unwanted excess.

Good to know because we consume one heck of a lot of the stuff!!

So Snagency, how are you dosing your milk once again??!! 4 times per day??!! :toofunny:

Sorry. I just couldn't help myself. These are the kind of questions I get in my threads. LMAO

ahh yeah, no kidding. you have great patience with such, props for that. I don't. figure if I'm taking time to type the words and you're interested, you'll be following along accordingly.
guess I'm an old curmudgeon. :biglaugh:

This just proves my point. I cut out all dairy except a little cheese here and there and now I know it was the right choice.

8oz a day with one of my shakes...just because it tastes so good that way!!

I figure that a little skim can't be that bad in moderation. I use it on my bran flakes in the morning and in 1 or 2 protein shakes during the day. Maybe 16 ounces per day...total.
Water mixed shakes get old after a while no matter what fancy flavor you use.

Got to agree with you right there Thunder. Vanilla, cinnamon and zero calorie spray butter makes a mean cinnamon roll flavored shake, even in water if you want to change it up a bit.

guess I got simple taste buds. :dunno:
I've used water exclusively in my shakes since 2002, and I don't eat dry cereal so no milk needed for that.
my oats and CoCo Wheats are made in water..and all I drink thruout the day is water, unless I'm having a tea or my morning cup of java (both made from - yup, water!) :D

h2o..FTW! :box:

I do gotta admit tho - when I'm running higher-fat intake schemes w/ satfats, the heavy whipping cream in the shakes does make it a smidgen tastier! :yumyum:

I agree with you on the water. Other than that small amount of skim milk that I drink (16 ounces per day) I drink water exclusively the rest of the day. I never drink sodas and I'm not big on tea either.
Now my morning cup of Joe......I gotta have that!!! :Eyecrazy:

One 8oz serving of milk and one 8oz serving of OJ...the rest is Agua!! Never acquired a taste for lawn clippings in water..oh I mean tea. JP Snagnanimous!!
