SNAGged and TORN..No More! (The Saga Continues)

I was dying to find out about the "X" files as well...

it was fun to play with..Jacob warned that this would never be brought to market unless something could be done to trim the immense cost of the product. don't give up on it tho - the dude is ingenious when it comes to catching lightning in a bottle. :)

Man I remember that log! Product X puts 70 lbs on Snags bench wasn't it? You were looking so full and huge Bro. I was so jealous of not getting to try the Product X when you did it. Enjoying what TNA and TForce are doing for me now. Helping me recomp a little through this time of light weights and being careful. If not for that I think I would already be shrinking a little bit.

ahaa, well 70lbs is a bit of a stretch, but it remains the only time in my life I've benched over 400. :shhh:

TNA is a lil different..I'm getting all the good euphoria, libido, pumps, and just Superman recovery going on. this is translating to strength increases (I'm feeling strong in every aspect), just not on the level of product X.
but - it's still early on! :)

I could have sworn it was 70 lbs or something like that. Maybe was on a bigger lift or I just can't rmember but man benching over 400 is ridiculous at your weight. BEAST MODE!!!

hmmm..well since I rarely max out, it could very well have been in that range.
at about any given time (injury/off-time/dying with the flu/etc) I can throw up 315 with ease.
generally when I'm training regularly, I'm anywhere from 335-350 pretty easy.
I think 365 was the most I'd ever benched w/ a pause prior to that time, 385 w/o pause.

Kleen you got me curious on that issue, so I went and skimmed thru that log..in day #15, I ran my 10x3's for bench @ 330.
on day #38, I nailed that 405 (and I had just started Prime couple days earlier; forgot that, seemed like I had been stacking the whole time).
what stands out to me most about that day tho - first, I hadn't hit 365 in a long while..seriously, I mean like couple yrs. and #2 - I hit that without a spotter! WTF was I thinking??

I have put 70 lbs on front squats (5 reps) using Prime but I did start out a bit conservative and probablly would have got 30-40 anyway... but not 70!! I still haven't gotten all the way back up to 300, I was just about there with HST then I made the mistake of doing 3 sets of 5 instead of 2 and wore out...

My thread was called the XFiles maybe that's what you were thinking of... I did not respond as well to Product X as Snag did though.

70lb gain on fronts is no joke DW..solid.
i hate front squats, have never been comfortable with them.

Just do them till you are, you won't be sorry... I was the same way then my shoulder made it necessary though. Now my balance is so good I can really smash it.. I really feel then give better overall leg development. That could be just because they were new, but even so they add a very good weapon to your arsenal...

Awesome all the weight being talked about in here is motivating. You both really killed during those logs. Good news I go for my MRI tomorrow morning. I can get a more solid diagnosis of the issues. Cold front right now has my quad a little unhappy but it is ok. Wil get better, I have to keep the faith there. 2 weeks no legs work has already made me stir crazy for it.

and on Thursday, he rested. :cool2:

much needed recovery day, will enjoy.

Same here brosenstein. Thor's Day is my only day of complete rest. I need it also. Been abusing the living Hel outta my battle hardened old body for the last month on that MrKleen type program that I'm on.

But mostly I need a rest day for my nerves concerning this damn PC that is still fukkin with me!! I'm reading through those sites that Inarius gave me and they should work.

I'm off to see if I can fix this thing before taking it to the shop later and paying them to do it.

I'm such a cheap bastich!!!! :439:

I'll be in prayer to All-Father to bless you with a special healing and speedy recovery. :hail:

Thinking positive thoughts here Kleen!! Cheers for the comeback.

I just brought back Zercher squats into my rotation and they are a true "strong man" type of exercise. Holding the Oly in your arms like that works the hell out of your entire body. Very humbling with the poundage numbers right now. TG this would really fit into your bezerker mentality!

I just had a virus knock mine out. It was some bullsh!t called XP Internet Security 2010. The SOB invaded my EXE and I could not open anything to try to delete it. I ended up handing it over to an expert and was out $200 dollars of my supplement slush fund...:damnit1:

[sigh] freakin scams. and when it knocks out the slush fund..

:gay:

always wanted to use that lil smiley there. :D

Hey guys thanks for the kind words and sorry for the small hijacking Sangs. I am more than ready to be in here tearing it up and comparing battle stories again. I feel like a spectator at this point. LOL Oh well it is going to be following instructions to the T for me right now. It would just be awesome if I had one issue to deal with. Not one lower body one upper body, makes it harder to focus intensity to other areas when they are messed up too. I will figure it out. Until then I will visit all of my Warrior brothers logs and live vicariously through them and their intensity.

All you can do is your part, after that you just have to be satisfied that you've done all you can.

Man now I am hungry... Hmmm I think the boy took out chicken....

stomach... growling... must.... eat.... WHAT NO CHICKEN in the FRIDGE!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Damn I'm eating so much chicken!! Had Lean ground beef al-la-Snag last night with the yellow mustard, damn the fugger even has me putting it on my brocolli... funny what you'll do to get a little flavor in...

haha. ;)

getting ready to rock out some back work here shortly..wife's car wouldn't start this morning, tow truck is on the way..lil extra angry motivation for me today.
(like I need any..) :aargh: :hammer:

and so it was on..

very nice session today, stepped up the pace again while mixing some fairly heavy work with some hi-rep speed form.

led off with pull-ups (4 sets), incline rows (plates facing out on short-bar or EZ-bar, so you can grip the outside edge; lie face-down on inclined bench, 4 sets), seated D-grip pulley rows (4 sets), and flatback DL for speed reps (3x20).
followed the weights with 25 min cardio (2.5min warm-up/cool-down, 10min steady-state, 10min HIIT on treadmill).

sweat was stoo-pid! :yikes:

and while I was doing my cardio, saw the Tiger Woods press conference.. :sigh:
unbelievable. you guys have heard me bitch about the media before..I could rant forever on this. all the major networks carried live coverage , and he 'has to' apologize to the nation.
wow. I am just continually amazed that America looks to these athletes as role models and above human frailties. of course, the media puts these guys on a pedestal, but the fact that these guys make millions of dollars does not make them a role model.
it is our fault (the system's fault) for letting athletes make this kind of money..inevitably, you give a guy who plays a kids game that kind of money, and bad things will happen. judgement gets skewed.
I used to look up to pro athletes too when I was younger, and yes my heroes disappointed me..again, portrayed thru the media, these guys are larger than life, beyond our own personal faults and weaknesses.
but then Charles Barkley came along in the 90's (actually long before then, Cassius Clay said about the same thing) and said 'I am not a role model..don't have your kids look to me for how they are supposed to act' and it really made sense.
and then the same media that builds these guys up, are there quicker than dog snot to tear them down.
I am so sick of hearing about steroids in baseball, Tiger Woods cheating on his wife, etc..man if only we could spend the same amount of time and effort enacting ideas to solve our financial crisis, or to think about how our morals and behaviors have steadily been warped thru the yrs and how we could go about ceasing the downward spiral, if not reversing it..
all right, I'll get off my soapbox, just had to vent. :soapbox:

Yep... I mean what have they done to earn that kind of responsiblity!! It's the same thing with film stars. It's the media that puts so much preasure on them in the first place, so that they can't live normal productive lives. It's not a sin to be rich but it's pretty tough not to sin when you have so much money you make your own reality. Then they have some of these *******s giving advice about life. Come fuggin on, what the fug do they know about how to live a productive and moral life. I don't blame them, they're up to their eyeballs in temptation. Not too many make it through unscathed... You want to be rich and famous.. yah I'll admit it me too... at the same time I'm glad I'm not, just lucky I guess...

I'm with you DW an Snag,,, let them have their riches and fame, I'll keep my family, my iron, and my happiness

AMEN! Although a winning lottery ticket would't be bad either. LOL Then i could spend more time on said things... LOL No I don't buy them. Can't bring myself too.

just caught up..lookn killer as always Snaglet...that CEO stack is going make you solid as rock!!

I'm with you DW an Snag,,, let them have their riches and fame, I'll keep my family, my iron, and my happiness

Right on brother. I love my simple life. Don't want nor need fortune and fame. Don't need a bunch of people hanging around me pretending to be friends while their hands are outstretched wanting money.

glad I'm not the only one who's disturbed by the state of our society. :(

and speaking of Disturbed, such was the music I rolled with this morning, and the results of the workout were truly DISTURBING! :yikes:

(I mean in a psychotically chaotic disturbed way..) :hump: :hammer:

:D

here's the deal: I got a ton of stuff going on in the personal life right now, feel like I'm being pulled in too many different directions with everything on my plate at the moment..so, one thing I don't need to think about is what I want to do in the weight room on a given day. and thus, the instinctive training takes a rest; I lock into one of my fav and most successful programs.

I will lay it out going forward. essentially a 3-day on/1-day off plan, but rolling between first 3 days of week heavy/90sec rest and last 3 days of week lighter/60sec rest + some supersets. cardio will take a back seat, until it's warm enough for tennis (this is my cardio of choice).

so, without further ado:

you are like some giant Snag Robot sent to earth from this planet inhabited by Man beasts with strength not unlike that of Gods

SNAGBORG...part man part machine!!

great routine there. Have one in the back pocket similar, but I like how you threw in the extra max rep back at 225.Is that a Form until Failure set for burnout followed by the final 185???

 Snagaborg...even better...RoboSnag :toofunny:

ahaa, funny stuff guys. :)

well, I guess all my sets are form until failure. :D
I don't sacrifice form to pump out a few extra reps as a rule; maybe sometimes in certain isolated instances (bulk & strength routines).
I concentrate on form all the time..even my burnout out 185 is done with form in mind, I don't get into bouncing it off my chest or anything.
the focus right now is controlled movement - the eccentric is done fast, but under control. the concentric is explosive, but under control. the only thing I rely on to extend the set is maybe couple breaths while pausing in the top of concentric portion, toward the end of my set when I'm getting fatigued.

leg day this morning was just ludicrous..I still can't walk quite right. :nervous:
they were numb when I got done with the session. :hammer:

Day 2: Legs

BB Squats (ATG)
135x20
185x15
225 x max reps (15-30)
255 x max reps (10-25)
225 x max reps (15-25)
[when you can get toward the top of the rep ranges, time to move up the weight 10%..I am currently more toward the low-to-mid range.]

DB Lunge
3x12

Leg Curl
5x12-15

Donkey Calf Raises ss w/ Standing Calf Raise
5x20 each

lil pic of my BCAA/EAA products I play with currently, create my own ratios..
I think I've got a pretty good mix going on.
others that I use sometimes are Core ABC and PurpleWraath.
