anyway: so I had a scare during late-night cardio last night, ironic too because almost just as I was thinking to myself about progress and injury about the only thing that could derail me....I tweaked my L hammy during some light sprints on MIIT
iced it right away, not too bad here this morning - but, I do have leg day this day..dammit
well i'll figure it out, do not anticipate any issues

weight upon rising has slid with the change in diet, just a shade over 193 now..to be expected (getting leaner every day, couldn't keep up the same weight forever), but should be pretty much isolated at this point for the immediate impact it will have; however, in an effort to ensure that, will toss a few more carbs my way this day while staying in same cal intake

mid-90s today here, heat index expected to be 95-100....think I may avoid mowing as planned
 
Ouch sorry to hear about the hammie, hopefully just a nip and not a full on bite. You are more than creative enough to work around it. Perhaps if you can get it warm and do some foam rolling before and after legs you will be fine. If you don't have a roller try putting your weight on one of your tennis balls where the knot is and rolling it out. Nothing like some good pressure when warm to help it along and loosen any resulting knots.

on another note:
so I know some guys are shaving the body this summer, thought I would just pass this along..i sweat so damn much these days, been avoiding the blade myself as it irritates the hell outta my skin - esp between the thighs, as they rub together pretty much all day long anyway ahaaa..
well I picked up some gold bond medicated powder, applied profusely and repeatedly after shaving the other day, and voila! seems to have alleviated the issue rather well, very happy with this!
 
and as it was written, so it came to pass....
worked legs around the touchy hammy today -- and, to my surprise, was actually one of the better leg days I've had in awhile :yup:
did not go heavy, rather stayed fairly light for hi reps, but slow & controlled movements thruout instead of explosive form I usually prefer
warmed up with 6 sets leg extensions (pyramid up weights/down reps)
4x close-stance squats, parallel depth only (working sets between 185 and 235 here)
4x lying leg curls (static reps, hold at contraction)
3x RDLs (very light here, slow and very controlled, total mind/muscle - hella pump!)
5x standing BB calf raises off plate, ss w/ slow deep stretching off step platform

good sweat, nice pump -- and no pain really, very successful day, and am very pleased :)
 
Nice lift, that sounds like it would have felt amazing and the pumps probably off the chain.

looking at my schedule and saw this was really only opportunity of week I had to do it; plus, gave me a chance to further stretch out my hammy after the leg session earlier
stayed well-hydrated thruout (musta drank ~1g water, srs)..awesome sweat! them toxins were floating outta me
 
Excellent, it has been raining here all week and finally drying up a bit. I plan to mow the yard tonight myself... burn a lil extra fat this evening.
 
Good to hear. I am feeling all my old injuries today. Must be the humidity, it's pretty intense.

Looks pretty even to me considering, on top of that my left side veins are always a bit more prominent being close to the heart and all.

First thing that caught my eye was the vascularity then yah the separation is right on as well. Good symetry in that the shape is different a bit but the size seems the same. Like one side seems a tad longer but size wise I don't see much difference. Could be angle too.

is a lil bit of both angle and length of muscle, very observant of you
I will never have the development on R side as I do on L, due to meniscus issues in that knee..hinders my ROM/strength
but I can offset things by slightly angling the legs - as I am doing here; this helps with not drawing attention to my different shaped calves as well..only so much I can do, and reality is no one has perfectly evenly developed legs anyway, so I worry not

Agreed on the symmetry stuff. My left leg gets striations on the quadriceps lateralus but my right one does not. I think it has to do with me ripping all for of the quads off of my hip bone in my left leg and either that changed how I used that one or how I used the other to compensate for it.

:eek: yikes man, bet that hurt a smidge .. exactly right tho on major injuries such as that, and referencing the muscle healing differently, so in effect not only can change shape itself but also strength potential of the actual muscle..
the joints/ligaments tying in to healing process as well, can also affect how we compensate for the injury - and of course most of us serious weight boneheads do not wait for full proper healing time nor take the correct physical therapy to totally repair/recuperate properly

cals are still fairly high right now, for the progress it is giving me; LOTS of room to perhaps drop the daily intake on a weekly basis between this SAT (6 weeks out) and the 2-week out mark..then, it's simply adjust back up slightly, and coast the plane on home
all depends on where I am sitting bf-wise at 2-week out mark, very pleased with everything right now

so since I've had 90g carbs between breakfast and postWO nutrition, had to start slimming down the carbs so I could keep them ~150ish before I get to my carb-load (~165g carbs)..that in mind, rolled with eye of round again, veggies and tuna w/ salsa instead of side of carbs (like black beans or rice cakes)
you guys getting tired of seeing this meal yet? cuz I sure am not tiring of eating it :food:

couple changes will be employed here at 6-week out mark..
cals drop to 2550/day, simply reducing some portions, can also just drop some small things here & there
not to point yet I make switch to leaner cuts of meat more frequently, but fats are still pretty low
also - will be incorporating our Revolution PCT Black, 3 caps @ night before bed..not necessarily a fan of suggesting this to be used with our hormonal products as you have seen, but in this instance I find it appropriate and very well suited for my purposes of more hardening and as an AI..also has some nice liver protection in there, will go well with my TUDCA
dropping some ALCAR and RK into mix as well, at appropriate timeframes
will stay in the same training rotation for another 7-10 days before making switch back to 3-day split, will be different muscle pairings than what I previously used tho
