Sleeping Too Long

Are there any supps that you can take to get less sleep and wake up quicker, more refreshed? I already take ZMK, but lately I go to bed early and get 10+ hours of sleep, and could still lay in bed all day. Not sure what it is. This is what I am currently taking, maybe somebody can see something I dont causing the desire to sleep:

AlphaBurn
BCAA
L-Carnitine
CE2
L-Glutamine
ZMK

Usually if you oversleep you will feel more sleepy then if you under sleep.. Try cutting it down to 7-8 hours of sleep.

Perhaps you should try and find the root problem (i.e. overtraining, stress, fatigue, etc.) that is causing you to sleep so long before you look to anything else, and then fix THAT.

in the last year I have developed a bad habit of struggling to wake up. I went from being able to pop up and run all day on 5 hours of sleep, to barely being able to crawl after 8. Biggest change I noticed was emotional. Are you dealing with any kind of depression/tough situations?

Also, give yourself something to do when you wake up. If you have nothing to do, you just kinda...make excuses not to.

Wow this is very true. I went through a breakup and I would struggle to wake up some days.

if you take glutamine/aakg and micellar protein before bed and sleep for 10 hours wouldnt that be amazing for building muscle if you could do that every day?

Get a checkup IMO tell them you have hypersomnia. You'll be screened for a heap of other stuff mood that sort of thing.

I don't think supplements will help here unless you're looking at the adrenal fatigue route. I'd adrenal fatigue post-caffeine - I was hooked on the stuff. Adrenal fatigue stuff works against caffeine, in your case I'm not sure.

Basically you're cortisol levels are down - making you fatigued. If you use non-stims to boost those then your sound. However its not clear at what point you're getting the cortisol reduction - there's loads of interacting stuff.

I don't wanna speculate further.

Get 3 alarm clocks, set the alarms 3 minutes apart...put them on different sides of the bed, and one across the room...set one to 'radio' and turn it all the way up.

Its a matter of getting out of bed, once you do that, you'll wake up and be OK.

haha that sounds like recipe for 3 broken alarm clocks.... anyways try to sleep on a consistent pattern (wake up/ lay down at the same time everynight) once your circadian rhythm falls into place sleeping only 8-9 hours and waking up feeling refreshed and ready to go should be easier

I'll have another shot at this.

Sleep hygiene is one idea (alarm clocks). It is supposed to really work for insomnia. There is no reason for it not to work for hypersomina - the idea is to force the body to adjust.

I think trying to promote DEEP SLEEP is a good route. That is using stuff like Powerful and Valarian and pm fat burners, GABA, ZMA that sort of thing. It might help, i.e. the longer you are in deep sleep the shorter the sleep.

I use a Delta-wave sleep CD. If I can't drop-off it really works - really works, the music trips me up and I just can't stay awake.

The prescription route to try and stimulate the adrenals. This may be counter productive as it could affect your sleep cycle (disrupt it).

If you go to a sleep centre they could diagnose what is wrong, pretty accurately. That however is VERY expensive.

Get your Lazy A$$ out of bed! Seriously, do you have anywhere to go? Work? School? Gym? I don't wake up if I don't have anywhere to be. If I do I wake up like clockwork. Maybe drink some coffee and do some cardio in the morning and that will wake you up quickly.

This ain't a helpful post. I think the idea when he does has fatigue even when he's slept for a full 8 hours.

When I take 1-Carboxy, I will actually sleep less and feel like I've slept more. It's all about how much REM sleep your getting.

yeah, after about 1 week, the old Powerfull, which contains lots of 1-carboxy would wake me up after about 5 hours. I did not find that to be a good thing, hehe. :)
