It's just for this year. Stone Sour is releasing an album soon, and next year he and Jim Root will be back with Slipknot to work on a new album. (according to Cory's FB page, which HE actually posts on and not some PR person. I always admire that!)

Great drummer.. but doesnt belong in the same conversation as Danny Carry or Neil Peart.

Joey is great and fast with his double base pedals, but the technicality of Danny and Neil are unmatched. Especially Danny and his odd 9/8/7 time signatures (as well as other).

Side note: Danny Carey travels the world and engages tribal cultures to learn their techniques. Of which he has incorporated into his music: listen to Intension on 10,000 days.

Did not know that. It's good to hear. I enjoy the more calm tunes of Stone Sour, but I like the intense music of Slipknot when it's go time.

Eh, that's getting a little didactic. For most professional music listeners the technicality aspect of it doesn't even register. It's based more on style (see Phil Collins). In my book none of these munchkins can hold a candle to Tempesta and Shannon Larkin
