SilentBob's (no-drama) chatroom

My bad T, still haven't hooked up internet at the new place and I'm in the middle of an eleven day stretch at work so I don't expect I'll have time to get a guy out there soon.

What's new with you? Were you looking at getting a new bike? Was that why there were so many in your yard last week?

I picked up a weight tree from a local fitness equipment place for $30 bucks.

Cybex Commercial line, good sh*t.

I'll say it again too, 30 bucks.

Also, after sweep up all the concrete dust and sh*t in my basement it all decided to congregate in my ear and form a super earplug of wax and concrete. I woke up Thursday morning and couldn't hear out of my right ear! FFFFFFUUUUUU!!!!!

Luckily the doctor did some peroxide and an ear wash for me and it came out. F*cker was in in there and big too, it was a 3/4" plug. DAMN!

Any of your jokers got Google+ yet? I'm on there now and it's like a ghost town. Hit me up if you want an invite/wanna join a circle or something.

I looked into google + but it didn't seem all that interesting beyond facebook or twitter, I don't have a need for more social circles really. What is suppose to be so special about that place anyway.

Not much new on my end, bro! Not looking to get a new bike. I love my Meanie! The bikes were probably a benefit run I did with a couple guys a few weekends ago. We try to get together every other Sunday and go for a ride. That one just happened to be a benefit for the Humane Society and had probably 700 bikes. It was MASSIVE!! lol

Other than that, my wife got in an accident last week. F150 rammed the rear of the Saab as she was turning into the daycare to pick up Izzie. The car is absolutely toast. Pic of it on my Wall if you wanna check it out. We're rockin a rental and waiting for the check to buy something else now. What a pain in the neck! It's moving fast, and since it was all that guy's fault, it's all to our benefit. But I just want to go out and find a car already and bring it home!!! I hate waiting... lol

FB and Google are in a war, and + is their answer to FB. That's about all. It's limited in invitations right now, so not many people on it. I was invited by a few friends, but with all the online stuff I have going on anyway, the last thing I need is something else to do on the computer! :D

for me, its main plus :D is the circles. I can group different friends different ways. There are people I can mention say for instance arimidex to, and people I surely don't want to mention it around. Similarly with political views, pictures of kids, etc. google + makes that pretty easy to manage

My life is an open book. If anybody doesn't like what I put up, they can feel free to look elsewhere. Certain things I won't put on FB, but most of the things in my life I will... either to brag, to be goofy, or to just create conversation.

Well, for me I have too many work related people there. I don't want to have a separate account, and some of the work related people are also into fitness + bodybuilding so they can be in both groups. But i'm sure not going to post "hey an anabolics company is willing to give me some methyl stenbelone to try out and test" on my regular facebook :)

My general rule of thumb is that if you post something on the internet, people whom you don't want to see it will find it and see it.

Exactly - and that's why I like to cause trouble!!! :D

Oh, and when the hell are you getting on FB, Bob??? :(

I thought there was a difference between "friends" and "facebook friends", only ignored by those not yet ready to come to terms with reality.

What the heck are you talking about man? All of my FB friends are people I would trust my life with, people that I know I can count on in a pinch.

It's not an online popularity contest....

...oh, wait, yes it is. I'm sure most of my "friends" wouldn't recognize me in public. :ugh2:

Oh well, at least I got you guys...right?

RIGHT?!

Actually, sorry to say it, but I'm gonna need you to get on FB, man. Too much gonna happen there soon and we'll need all hands on deck. :)

So who would win in a fight?

Gregor Mendel and a pack of genetically hybridized peas...

...or Nikolo Tesla's Teleforce? Or do you think that Oppenheimer would win by nuking the site from orbit?

I saw that one on youtube the other day. Pretty sure it was all the noise the dog was making making it obvious they were robbing the place that had them running not the pint size pest that get's tossed off of the guy at one point in the vid. I mean don't people typically run from a store after robbing it?

Besides it was a smoke shop, the guy at the counter was probably like. "Whoah Man... Don't trip you can have anything here but my twinkies and my bong."

Where I grew up, people were deathly terrified of squirrels and chipmunks.

If you grew up where I grew up then, brother, you'd be a shut-in. There's squirrels and chipmunks EVERYWHERE!

Hello! Would you like to change religions!? I have a free book written by Jesus!

Is it just me, or did 99's X-men open a pandora's box of Stan Lee trying to make a buck?

The scurge of superhero movies, his crappy show on History Channel, his other crappy reality show that was on like SciFi a few years back, trying to make the Incredible Hulk into a profitable movie (twice), and the lamest thing ever, the guardian project (Invalid Link Removed).

Believe it or not Stan Lee makes very little money off of any of those comic book to movie ventures you just mentioned. Heck, he had to sue Marvel(his employer) to even receive a check for the first Spider Man. He may make a pretty good dime or so now that he got the legal whoas settled but for the most part the money drivel is all for the big movie execs and Avi Arad, the CEO of Marvel. The intellectual property is, in most parts a money pit for any studio that would pick them up and distribute. Even the Hulk films made a good profit(both of them), so your not going to stop greed with more money. Xmen opened up the idea to all these studios that, Hey you can make a heck of a lot of money on something that already has a built in fan base. Say no more.... lets make them ALL!!! Cue Elektra movie. :(

Did not know about the whole ordeal with spiderman.

I felt that X-men showed that special effects technology was finally up to the point where these movies could be shown with real actors.

One thing you are also forgetting is a big word called "royalties". Everytime the movie plays on television, all the t-shirts lunchboxes and all that other fan crap, he's getting some sort of kickback to use his works. Reminds me of that episode of Seinfeld where Jerry has a stockpile of 10 cent royalty checks.

I never saw Elektra, and probably intend to keep it that way. I did see part of Daredevil, which was also pretty stupid. I digress on the Hulk. Both makes were likely profitable, as were the older ones. I've always been disappointed that the Hulk is such a cool character, but I never felt the storyline was ever there. I've never been able to sit through an entire Incredible Hulk movie.

Hopefully the Avengers movie will rectify that aspect with the Hulk.

Hopefully the Avengers movie will rectify that aspect with the Hulk.

Or it'll turn into an Avengers vs the Hulk if they lose control of him, which wouldn't be unheard of.

I'm sure that will be present in the film, as will the whole Cap/Iron Man conflicts. As a basis plot point, it's definitely going to circulate around the the characters as a whole and the whole Asgaurd cube. I remember in the comics, the cube attracted not only Loki, but the Skrulls and Thanoas as well(Infinity Gauntlet). Anyone of the ladder would be a cool premise for a movie.

Okay, off my nerd box. Back to the regularly scheduled program :D

You know I tend to like even the bad comic movies. I don't expect cinema magic, just memories and visual entertainment. So far most of them have done alright however my favorite comic book based movie is still hands down the original The Crow movie with Brandon Lee.

No doubt man. The Crow was an excellent movie. Lee passed too soon. Such a shame that they are trying to reboot it with Bradly Cooper as Draven.:(

Another comic movie I really liked was The Punisher with Thomas Jane. That was a pure dude movie. Great one liners and violence all around.

Funny I thought of that one too. You know even though I love The Crow, I like Bradley Cooper, I will give him a chance to prove he has a good dark side in this one. I kind of have faith he can pull it off even though most of his work has been in comedy. As long as they keep the dark side with it I think it will be good. So let me guess it will be in 3D?

By the way, I liked Elektra, may just be Jennifer Garner in it but I own it. LOL

Oh yeah! She is smoking hot in that movie too!

I haven't heard one way or the other, but I think it's pretty much a sure thing nowadays.

Oh yeah, the eye candy is definitely strong in that movie. Worth watching at least once ;)
God would I take a beating from her...with a smile on my face!
You know who I would love to take a beating from..... Kate Beckingsale in the Underworld movies. Slap on that leather outfit and have at me!!

Get ready for my sweetness!

Kate, you're amazing. That is all I have to say.

I wish they would stick more to how they were in the comics instead of adding stuff for the movies guess I'ma comic nerd

Nothing wrong with that, other than the whole situation with The Flash of course...

The movie would be so one-sided. Awesome, but one-sided. :)
