SilentBob's Journey to January

don't worry about the run bro! We all have days like that. When is that PFT this next week?? and will you be running in the morning with similar conditions??

In the words of Alfred E. Newman, "What, me worry?"

Midweek, it will be in the morning instead of late at night. Also, I don't intend on working legs again until Thursday of next week so no worries regarding the crazy fatigue I'm dealing with at the moment.

Chest this morning. At least I don't have to use my legs for that. :)

SB you are going to rock those guys! Good luck on the test bro, and the leg rest is perfect. Run this one for yourself and for those army guys who lost their lives at Ft Hood. I spent many a day walking that area of Texas. Hopefully you will be testing on Wed, Veterans Day... what a great motivation to run!

Dethklok - Birthday Dethday

well i gather that today is your birthday, SB, so i wish you happy birthday, mate!...and now the "birthday dethday" song makes a whole lot more sense lol

you should prolly try and be rested going into that PFT

I think I missed something...is this, this week? how many more do you have to do SB? I have something that will help you..but I'm not telling yet..

Well, you can run one as many times as you'd like. This is the first one that I'd seen that was listed as mandatory. About to take a little magnesium and head out.

You've got my attention with that last bit. :13:

Just got back.

Pullups: 18 (+3)
Situps: 100 (+4)
Run: 23:29 (-5 seconds)
PFT: 257 (+20 pts)

Nice improvements thus far Bob

Well done, brothaman!

Bitchin bro!:D

Thanks guys.

that's a good improvement bro, does this mean you passed the test?

Yes. I'd already passed the test with the 237. But they, and myself, still want to get a higher PFT score (max 300,) because that always looks a lot better on the application.

A delayed Happy Birthday to ya, SB. Hope it was a good one.

It was good, except for the diet. I ate like crap over the weekend (lots of pizza and lots of sugar,) and I'm still amazed that my PFT score improved after that weekend of poor eating. I can only imagine how I would have done if I'd eaten clean all weekend and really given it 100%.

I ordered a weighted belt since I can never trust my gym that have that piece of equipment (last 2 or 3 have been stolen,) so I'm going to be able to do those weighted pullups and weighted dips again. I'm a bit tired this evening but I'll destroy my back tomorrow morning and if the rain stops get a good run in. Actually, even if the rain doesn't stop I'll still try to get in some type of cardio.

We stole the eagle from The Air Force, The anchor from The Navy and the rope from The Army.

On the seventh day while God rested, we overran His perimeter, stole the globe and we've been running the whole show ever since.

yea man, get on those weighted dips and pullups! i've looked into getting myself a weight belt because i dunno if gyms i'll have to lift in over the winter break'll have 'em.

on a side note, i always loved running in a cool misty rain -- even if it did make the track or course a little muddy. i think that feeling overheated is the worst feeling in the world, and the rain just felt so good and cool.

keep killin it, man.

good sh1t mr raisins! You are going to blow up adding in those weighted pulls :yup:

Great job SB, you nailed that run! Hopefully you smoked them other guys in the process as well. Good luck with the weighted pull ups and dips..., I love watching people stare in the gym while having 50lbs strapped to my body while heading to the rack!!! Good times bro
AND BY THE WAY!!!! WE WANT OUR ROPE BACK!!!!!!
AG

Congrats on the outstanding score. You've got OCS in the bag brother

Narrative: Ouch. Was good to go heavy again, kinda. I'm so happy that the benches have those lower arms so you can rack if you can't push up a rep (see 185x2 on incline.) Zottman curls are something special. Those feel all sorts of wild. I intend to make those a staple for a little while when I do biceps.

Dethklok - Fan song

never heard of zottman curls before. just looked 'em up. they look crazy!

Yeah I saw em mentioned somewhere on this confounded board but I can't recall the thread I saw em in....and the ones that come up when I search are either old or not the one's I remember seeing... :wtf1:

incline curls are awesome, one of my fav exercises. Arms feel so pumped/heavy after like 2 reps :)

Narrative: Zercher Squats still hurt something fierce on my arms. I need to get used to those suckers again. It was good to hit legs again. I think it had been 2 weeks since I had a leg day. Last week was compromised due to PFT.

The Soggy Bottom Boys - Man of Constant Sorrow

SB the lunges... holy crap bro!! great push!!! How did the PFT go for you??

PFT went well last week, 257 (up 20points from previous)

nice leg workout, chief! bet the legs were burnin, huh?

Yeah, had the spins during my stretching afterwards. Not much in the way of weight but I hope the volume made up for it a little bit.

up 20 points in that short a time, bro you are on your way. Keep this up and there is no doubt in my mind you will hit that magic 300 before arrival to OCS!!! You are so going to smoke those around you!!!

what are the spins? and yea, i'd definitely say the volume made up for it.

Dizziness, probably caused sudden shifts in blood pressure from standing up too quickly.

Narrative: High Rep back day. Feeling pretty worn out right now. Serious DOMS from yesterday's leg day too. I'm feeling like an evening of music, television, and some chicken (already had pizza, you know postworkout...for the carbs... :) and I'm still below 180lb)

Dread Zeppelin - Heartbreaker

crazy W/O, SB. Nice work on the dips -- +75 is absolutely crazy. 5 reps +25 on pullups after everything is also ridiculous. nice work.

RUN: 3.8 miles
44°F
36 minutes

Narrative: I wasn't worrying myself with time tonight. It just felt great to be out there running. 44, clear, brisk, awesome. I had my hoodie and an orange beanie on so I was plenty warm. So warm in fact that at the turn I took the beanie off so that I didn't get too hot. Sipping on some magnesium and bcaa's now before bed. I didn't get the "runner's high," but I certainly felt great out there from start to finish. Peaceful.
