Segansational's Motivation Log

Well, after a great long weekend with family and LOTS of food, we're back to our regularly scheduled program. I enjoyed it all - ribs, grilled chicken thighs, cheeseburgers, cupcakes, beer. Don't feel bad about it in the least!

Now I will need to tighten things up on this short week, as I also didn't workout over the past 3 days. So to make up for it I ran 2 miles (moving up to 2 miles the remainder of this week) and got in a good chest workout. Have 2 weeks left until the date I've set my goal of running this 5k. BTW, don't think I ever shared a pic of the dope medal!

Weight is back up 2.2# on the scale.

Also thinking about doing the MURPH challenge. Redcon1 is hosting an event and you can also do it virtually, but I would need to rig up a weighted vest to train in by end of June. Invalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removed

big congrats for completing 2 miles...going farther and faster is like increasing weight on bench press, it will take some work and dedication after initial noobie gains....pulling for you-you can do it!!!

I want to see those foodz noodz, brah.
Surprisingly didn't take many food pics. I think I might have one of me grilling up two packs of chicken thighs though, lol.

Thanks! I'm probably cutting my self short setting this 5k date, but honestly I'm mostly doing it to help cap off this cutting phase which will be 12 weeks when all said and done. So it'll be time for a change.

Another 2 miler in the books, followed by a quick back circuit workout. I woke up feeling sore and not quite awake this AM, so I knew today would be tough. Slowed pace intentionally again and hoping my body will adapt this week to the endurance running. Wish I had some Peak02. Felt it a lot in my glutes today. 400 total cals burned.

Reupped on some CLA and picked up some ALA to see if that helps my hand/forearm.

I'm not sure what's going on in here, but let's keep it going!

Hit an 8:23 minute mile this morning, focusing on speed. 3rd fastest time I've recorded. Now, I stopped at 1 mile since I had a leg workout on deck afterwards, but was a way to change things up.

Burned 393 cals this morning!

try taking a day and just run sprints, then walk run sprints then repeat...this helps my overall time for running distance running-but beware, very taxing workout.

By taking a day, you meant day off, right??

Had a crap workout, didn't get a chance to run, AMC stock was down, mentally wasn't on my game all day. So I quit work early, had a drink, and got ice cream. Will post food porn, it's definitely worthy of it!

On the other hand, was dialed in these past few days on my cals (minus today's going off the rails). A little low on protein overall. But liking the progress I'm seeing in the mirror, arms and abs.

Had to e-mail two companies today because I haven't gotten shipping notifications 1 and 2 weeks out, one for my upcoming race medal and a big supplement order.

Whew! Made up for yesterday by a long shot! Almost 2.5 miles this morning (pace kept improving on each mile) followed by a short break and then a superset shoulder session. 561 cals burned! Felt great all around.

Here's a still grab from a video of me training today, doing my best wolverine impression. Cut it off cause no one wants to see my stupid face, lol.

Looking at my scale log, I may have dropped close to 3.5# this past week. I'll have to double-check. Still only gets me back on track for overall weight loss from pre-Memorial day...

Went for just over 2 miles this morning - I made the decision to stick with 2 miles this week and bump to 3 next, so pushing out my virtual 5k run by at least a week or so. It was ridiculously humid out, so I was drenched by the end. But still got in a chest workout afterwards: TRX/resistance bands, bench press, incline DB flys. 478 cals later...

Here are a few pics as I had promised. That was chocolate soft serve,
chocolate fudge, oreos, cocoa puffs.

Also, tried Boba Tea Total War today and it was pretty spot on for the flavor! Sweet upfront, slightly bitter/tannin-like on the end, just like the tea. I'd love to see how it tastes in milk, but honestly a bit scared to do so! Haha. Red Velvet Cake MRE bar taste test this afternoon!

Another 2 miler today. Could feel that I was running faster today and sub-10 min/mile pace. Wasn't as hot or humid out today, so that probably helped.

Back superset session. 481 cals.

And officially down -8.0# and -10% BF since the start of this cut, sitting at 13.7% BF!

Love seeing this type of consistency in my diet! Invalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removed

Really was dragging the past two days energy wise. Still have one more run in me for tomorrow morning (no weights) and then a break for the weekend. Plan to carb up and do a bit of a refeed heading into week 13.

BTW, have had pretty poor experiences lately with GNC and BPN orders online. Will likely be sticking to direct from manufacturers moving forward. Hard when I'm OOS on a lot of different items, but guess I just need to plan better. Shout out to @sns8778 on his help though for sure!

And here we go! Last run to cap off the week and it was a good one!

Weekly views of my run activities showing improvement across the board. Invalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removed

Had a great weekend and am sharing a few meals as part of my refeed! Didn't count cals at all. Found a new Mexican spot and had some carne asada nachos, al pastor tacos, and chicken mole enchiladas. Also had a nice Mediterranean rice bowl from Cava (no pics), cannoli and bananas stuffed french toast (also didn't save on my phone), and some cookies from My Cookie Dealer. Only ate half a cookie this week, as this was really meant as a reward for post-completion of my 5K. Which, I'm going to "officially" run this weekend. Still no update from the company on the race medal though.

Was hoping to receive my Iconic Formulations package on Saturday, but looked like it got held up in transit. But says I should receive today! So may switch over to All Out Sweat Edition for the remainder of the week from my Alpha Lion Superhuman Burn.

My app didn't record the full distance today, but ended up running about 3.67 miles when all said and done. Today's pace was 10:35 min/mile for the 2.29 miles it recorded. Felt good today. Both cardiovascular endurance and muscle endurance wasn't a problem, my knees started to feel it though probably on the last half mile. For the rest of the week as I get race ready, my plan is as follows:

Monday - >3.1 miles
Tuesday - Weights only, chest workout
Wednesday - >3.1 miles
Thursday - Weights only, back workout
Friday - >3.1 miles
Saturday - OFF
Sunday - Timed Virtual 5K (I may do this on Saturday, but I figure it's best to give myself a day in between rather than doing two 5Ks back to back)

Edit: Forgot to mention, last week my weight went up. I did finish my bottle of yohimbine (more on its way), but I'm up 1.2# and +0.2% BF since last Monday.

Couldn't wait to open my All Out Sweat Edition, Blue Hawaiian, so cracked the tub this morning for a taste test! Here's a quick review:

As you can see from the pictures, the only thing blue about it is the label (and my shaker cup lid)! This was a bit surprising. Flavor was strongly pineapple and coconut, with the two lingering and switching depending on the sip of what flavor was more present. You do occasionally get a bitter bit, either from the bioperine or I'm assuming the Peak02 as I've heard that can be hard to mask. But overall, the flavor is refreshing and tropical, like a fruity beach drink. I'd probably give it a 4 out of 5 on flavor. I tried this pre-run today, so can't really comment on effects. Since I sweat a ton when I run, I didn't notice more than usual here with the proGBB inclusion. Also, while Peak02 should help endurance, I believe this needs to be consumed daily to get those effects. Looking forward to including this in my rotation though, and will likely use this daily for workouts beginning next week.

Today's workout update:
It was a hard fought battle this morning to get through my morning run. I went the other direction on the nature trail this morning and I encountered more of a steep uphill climb in this direction IMO. I'll probably switch back for Friday, but long story short my cardio breathing and legs just weren't holding up as well today. Particularly a struggle once I hit the 2 mile mark. Slower pace overall, but got through it and continued to go farther than I will need to on my "official" race day.

Today was another tough grind. Weights only session, back workout. Was looking to really get amped up for this, but felt a bit lackluster. Pre-WO was 5 mg yohimbine + 2 scoops CU. Session looked roughly like this:

TRX rows
Barbell Rows
Close Grip Pull Ups
T-bar rows
Single Arm DB Rows

On a side note, looking nice and lean these days!

Love it, keep us posted on how you're liking! Yeah, I didn't want any unnecessary dyes, etc. also, a couple things in there - the grains of paradise is another one that's actually really hard to mask - just opening a container of GOP in a room can get people coughing...may be the bitter part you're experiencing. The PeakO2 is really earthy.

Nice little review you have there.

Nice little review you have there.
Thanks Chef!

Short update today. Last practice run before the big race! Haha. I've pretty much settled in to a slightly over 10 min/mile pace at this distance. Consistently ran that this week:

10:35 min/mi
10:23 min/mi
10:06 min/mi

Still no sign of that race medal showing up. I'm calling it a loss basically at this point. Also had issues with UPS saying they delivered my All American Nut Butters, but no where to be found. So if that doesn't show today, I'll have to call. Still no ship notification from Best Price Nutrition. May just call to cancel that as well. So yeah, shipping lately has been terrible all around.

But it's the weekend, so let's all stay positive! And happy father's day to any of you out there!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads and grandads out there, to the real men who show up and are present, and provide for their families and set the good examples! I strive to always remember to be that positive force in my kids' lives.

Yesterday, the fam knowing how much I like sweets, surprised me with a cast iron campfire pie cooker! We've got plenty of long weekends with the RV coming up, so this will be put to good use! I treated them to some ice cream, and then we had a nice big dim sum take out meal for father's day dinner. Will post pics soon!

Today was race day! Absolutely smoked this week's pace... 8:58 min/mi overall. I don't know if it was the perfect weather, or knowing my kids were watching, or that it was the real race, but felt great. 3rd fastest overall 5k time I've ran. Couldn't have hoped for more!

Today also "officially" ends my cut. I've been more dialed in an disciplined than probably ever over these past 13 weeks and am very pleased with my progress. Down -8.6# and -1.0% BF.

Starting weight: 161.6#
Ending weight: 153.0#
Starting BF: 14.7%
Ending BF: 13.7% BF

Have plans for the next few weeks, but that'll be the subject of my next post.Invalid Link RemovedInvalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removed

Had an absolutely killer workout session on Tuesday, 1 scoop of Hero vs Villain Total War + 3 caps SNS yohimbine + 1 cap Iconic Formulations ThermoAmp pre-WO.

Not tracking cals or anything specific this week, just getting back into the rhythm of bodybuilding-focused sessions, plus some light cardio in between (today did 25 mins on the stationary bike as an example). Looking to dial in my next training set up and get after it next week with purpose. For now, it's just having some fun.

Another solid session in the books this morning! Chest workout fun. Cracked my tub of Cali Splash Total War (yes, I probably have enough flavors to do a different one each day of the week for a month, lol). This was the Gold's Gym exclusive when it first launched. @ZOO agree that it tastes like Fruit Stripe gum! Haven't had that stuff in years though!

Keeping a running ranking of my Total War flavors to date:

1. Light Side
2. Patriot
3. Vice City
4. Cali Spalsh
5. Rocket Bomb
6. Lemon Lime
7. Dark Side
8. Fireball Olympia Edition

Will probably open my Kenny Omega V-trigger flavor next.

Haha right?!? It really does taste like that shizzzz. Took me back to my childhood when my grandma would take me to Toys R Us and buy me legos and a pack of Fruit Stripe. Too bad the gum only lasted like 10 seconds lmao

Loving your progress brother! Have to say this was one of my favorite logs that I’ve missed while I was away!
Totally appreciate that! People seem to come and go in here, but I'll just be here steadily grinding away until I'm too old to lift anymore LOL.

Workout update:
Been loving this RC1 Total War + SNS Y + IF ThermoAmp combo lately. Was planning on using All Out Sweat as my pre for the next few weeks, but as they say, "if it ain't broke, why try to fix it?" Back day session was as follows:

TRX rows
V-handle pull ups
BB Rows
T-bar Rows

Took the day off from work as I'm taking the family camping for the weekend. Testing out a new campground that's near a state park with a lake. So boating and fishing, etc.

Weekend update:
Camping was a good adventure, fun, but not very relaxing these days - between campsite set up/break down, early morning wake ups, and constantly watching the littlest one from putting rocks in his mouth... Did get to try out my father's day present and made some campfire pies. If you've never had one (I hadn't until this weekend), it's basically buttered bread with pie filling/whatever you want sandwiched in the middle, put between a cast iron press and cooked over the campfire. We made chocolate/apple pie and s'mores ones. I have to admit I ate terribly this past weekend and my digestive system was not happy. Basically my body now rebels when I have these binge weekends. Back to normal this week!

Well, finally got a notification from BPN on shipping... it'll be a full MONTH since I placed my order, multiple emails and calls, and they had to sub like 3 products. Will not be placing an order from them again. So if anyone has recommendations for another e-tailer that has a wide selection of products - not just specialty/pre's, but general health, etc - let me know.

New goals are a lean bulk. Looking to hit about 160# again after this last cut, but stay at roughly 14% BF. This should be a very manageable goal for me. Increasing cals by about 500-600 cals per day. The key will be figuring out how to not gain too much BF too quickly. Have a new stack that should help with both goals:

Ultra-epi: 3 pumps/day, post-WO
Osta: 20 mg/day, split into 2x doses (pre-WO, with dinner)
ThermoAmp: 2 caps/day, split into 2x doses (pre-WO, afternoon)
Yohimbine: 12.5 mg, split into 2x doses (3 caps, 2 caps)

Will be watching out for BP and any estro-related sides. Also going to be running Inhibit-E, Cycle Assist, 5g taurine, and Carditone. RYR daily as I've been doing. Will continue with my normal pre/intra supps (Total War, HBCD/palatinose, BCAAs/EAAs, and the occasional pump pre).

Weight on Monday was 156.0#, 14.0% BF. This measurement taken one week in, so rebound has me up already 3# and 0.3% BF.

Finally got my shipment in, so had to crack that Pump Addict! Started today with only 1 scoop because I'm a little wary of the rauwolscine content (1.5 mg/scoop). Normally I steer clear of formulas with this in it, but knowing @sns8778 had a hand in formulating, I decided to give it a shot for my shoulder session. Will report back. Dropped my daily yohimbine dose today.

So, a little feedback on Pump Addict. One scoop energy was good, but not overwhelmingly noticeable. No issues with the rauwolscine dose. Today I downed 2 scoops or a full serving, so we're talking 300 mg caffeine, 300 mg eria, plus teacrine and dynamine. Plus rauwolscine at 3 mgs. So stim level 1000!! With the KannaEase in there though, I'm wondering if that helped tamp down the negative sides I usually get from rauwolscine. Will know more after today's session.

Quick comment on taste. Needs work. Not strong or sweet enough for Candy Explosion. Not bad necessarily, just a little too noticeable. I know that teacrine is hard to flavor though, again, this wouldn't deter me from purchasing however.

While we're on taste, tried both Raze Energy South Beach and Strawberry Lemonade flavors this week. South Beach is awesome! Reminds me of a Hi-C / tropical fruit punch flavor, probably my favorite from them at this point. Just really enjoyable. Strawberry lemonade was a little disappointing, too sweet. Needed more lemonade / tartness to balance out IMO. Only OK.

Chest WO:
TRX chest press x Resistance band flys
Bench Press
Incline DB Press

Heading into a long weekend! AMERICA! Have some work planned on the house, a BBQ lined up, and we'll see what else. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I don’t know how the heck you made that cut given your culinary skills, lol. Looking swole at 150ish lbs.

Thanks brother.

Back session this morning and back on Total War, Rocket Bomb. Son didn't sleep well last night, so wasn't sure how I'd fair today, but all in all felt good. Didn't go all that heavy, but switched up the order of my exercises:

V-bar pull ups
Barbell Rows
TRX rows x straight arm lat pulldowns (resistance bands)
V-bar rows

Some big life changes happening and my family will be moving soon. A lot to get ready to buy and sell, but I'm super excited because I'll have a proper finished basement that will be DEDICATED to my home gym set up. No more underground, damp, dank, dirt-covered basement workouts! Really excited for this and will need to get some new equipment to fill the space! Thinking about getting a power cage rather than the standalone squat rack I have. Will need something to continue to do pull ups with, thinking about also getting a pulley pro or similar system. Thoughts?

Looks like youve been really getting some great results, keep it up brother!
Nice progress homie! Looking lean!
Thanks fellas!

Had a great 4th of July. Caught up with one of my oldest friends and had the kids meet and play together. 5 kids all under the age of 6, could've been a lot more hectic than it was!

So, 2 weeks on my current stack and I'm starting to get some aggravated sides from preexisting issues. Itchy left nip, some mild aggression. Thinking about starting @sns8778 Inhibit-P and/or an AI for the remaining 4 weeks (already on Inhibit-E) and running AI low dose post. Thoughts?

Hmmm, I’m by no means a expert on this but maybe grab some Nolvadex or Raloxifene real quick to nip that itch in the bud?

Had a great arm workout this morning, fueled by Kenny Omega's V-trigger Total War! It's lemon/lemonade flavored in case you're wondering. Went for my first run since my 5k about 2.5 weeks ago. Surprisingly kept my pace up! Went only about ~1.75 miles, but that's about where I'm going to keep things from here on (2 mi max). So 1-2x per week running/cardio and ab sessions. Not looking to become a total marshmallow on this bulk!

Marshmallow- that made me laugh!

Well, my old age is getting to me. Thought it was arm day, but looks like I recently did that... who knows? So did another arm session, looked like this:

Resistance band curls x resistance triceps pressdowns
EZ bar curls, inner grip x Bench dips
EZ bar curls, outer grip (full ROM) x DB kickbacks
DB hammer curls x Close grip BP

Old, lol. Wait till you’re 50+, young buck.

But there is a bright side — I can do the same workouts, watch the same movies, have sex with the same wife, and it all feels like the first time, lol. If only I were Mormon, lol.
