Ruck up sucka! iparatroop's permanent training home.

So you folks know, I didn't die. I injured my groin and that had taken much longer to heal than I anticipated. Got back to squatting for the first time today (that I can call a decent session). Only worked up to 255 for a few triples. It's a start.
Things should start picking back up here pretty soon. I think I have a minor case of food poisoning right now since I've shît 12 times in the last 18 hours. Anyway, I'm still around and will pick this log back up. Thanks for still being here.

I was just talking to my wife the other day telling her that I hadn't heard from you in a while.

Figured you were training or something lol.

Nice and easy today. Working back into things. Felt good to move stuff.

Good to see you are back at it Dave! I just got back into squatting too. Nerve racking that first time under the bar after an injury.

I hurt my back two weeks ago, and the pain radiates into my right leg (sciatica)... almost gone now.. and i know when I start lifting next week there are a few things that I'll need to be pretty cautious of. Squats, anything bent over, deads..

Yup. Tons to look out for. I have a list of back issues. For me though honestly it's the dumbest sh$t that makes it go out. Last time it went I was putting my little girl in her bed. Boom I was laid up for 3 days

Hi fûckers. It's been a long time huh?
Well, MRI on Tuesday, got results and follow up this morning with my sports med doctor.

For those of you who don't know what all those stupid words mean, in short, I have torn a ligament that connects the adductor to the pelvis. The MRI also indicated a noticeable amount of pelvic stress at the joint (osteitis symphysis) and significant fluid buildups where the tear is.
Recovery time is from 12-36 MONTHS (not weeks). Supposedly worse than an ACL in terms of healing time.
Basically, what this says is, no squatting, no running, no deadlifting, nothing that would cause pain to the affected area (pain is not gain in this case).
Sorry for my lack of being here, but this with a lot of other things going on have taken a toll on me. The road ahead isn't paved with gold, but I'm going to do my best to stay the course and get this shît healed up. My career depends on it.
Today begins the road to recovery now that I know what's up. Expect my presence to be what it once was. This won't beat me.
Holler.

so...what you're telling us now is, all the rumors about you being a broke d!ck mofo are true?
sorry to hear of this tragic turn of events brother, truly

Sucks bro....love the positive attitude. You can do this!!!

So sorry my bro. I'll be there in a few short hours to cheer you up :-)

Holler ho

Edit- make that about 25 hours

Sorry to hear buddy but remember if you do things right you're gona be on the low end of that time spectrum or sooner as far as recovery goes. A 9mm tear is decently substantial but you can definitely recover. Connective tissue injuries suck and are slow to heal, I hope you can find a good PT to work with. Heal up and keep in touch brother.

Seriously dude...that fûcking sucks. Hope you have a speedy recovery, my man!

Damn man that's terrible. Wish you a speedy recovery bro. You ever think of getting on some GH to help the healing process??

Respect on the positive outlook, despite the circumstances. Speaks volumes to your character.

Best of luck on your road to recovery.

Damn brother sorry to hear. See what happens when you Xfit ;) heal up buddy

Driving this from Seattle to North Carolina hasn't been fun yet. Good thing Arkansas is so awesome. Pfft. Two states to go.

Alright, thanks for all of the positive words fûckers. I'm here in NC now, got a pad, set up enough to live and today should begin the road to recovery and to being a cool guy.
The answer on the GH...I'm not in a position, financially, to cover the amount that I would need in order for it to be an option (as far as I know).
For now, I'll be swimming, dragging the prowler and using some sort of bodybuilding split, with leg days that don't involve the adductors.
I'll update tonight after I finish in the gym. Lots of catching up to do.

I'm staying in this thread for as long as it ****ing takes to see some Dave noodz!

Noodz schmoodz.
I got injured a while back (about three months ago I believe). I have been away from the gym/box since. I figured it was the best thing. I may or may not have been on to something. Either way, it was detrimental to my physique, overall.
I don't often speak of my supplementation outside of what I'd get in my rep packs. Contrary to that, I have a pretty solid knowledge base when it comes to orals (DS/PH). That being said, since I cannot really afford to go the GH route, I've decided to run epi at low dose for an extended duration. Why? Same reason as GH. I'm not under the impression that epi is going to act in the same manner as GH in the realm of ligament healing, but recovery on epi is pretty awesome from my experience. This is an experiment. You don't have to tell me that epi causes muscle tightness and may adversely affect the afflicted ligament. I know. I'm also going to be adding cissus when it comes in.
I was "on" when I got injured. I know the root cause. I'm not the statistic as far as crossfit goes. Crossfit didn't cause my injury. I feel better today than I did two months ago so I know things are headed in the right direction.
So, noodz will happen but they're low on the priority list.
I have about 2.5 years of training coming up. The first 9ish months are classroom. That should be sufficient time to heal if I can do this right.
