I don't know about cooked as I've seen this before but with Lester and Beckett both losing, it don't look good for you guys. btw, where are you guys, there were a lot of bandwagoners on here earlier.
I seriously hope you're not including me in that statement, Frank...
No John, you're a die hard like I am
^^^ I hate Boston, but ........ I would love to see an ALCS in New York with them..

F*CK The YANKMEES first and foremost.. Dammit John...the BOSOX let us down...they lost to the Angels...the muthaf*ckin Angels man...seriously WTF???
Ok...rolling with The Dodgers to win it all now. Actually I would love to see the Yankees make it to the WS to get beat by Joe Torre and the Dodgers.
Cheers!

In the last 90 years the score is 26-2,
Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Boston will ALWAYS live in NY's shadow. That's the real reason for all the hate.
Pretty ironic when it's the Yank-me's that hold the greatest "Choke" in baseball history; don't cha think?
To think I gracefully left your Thread about slurping on A's-rod alone, and you douches have plenty of time to spend in our thread.
You should have plenty of time to spend in all the threads... seeing as you wont be watching any more baseball this year.

Just saying...
And I wouldn't call it a choke unless you are implying that the BoSox didn't win it, but rather got lucky because the Yankees choked. I would rather say that my team out-played them at that moment in time. A choke to me takes that away. Now the Buckner thing… that was a choke.
In the last 90 years the score is 26-2, (possibly 27 I don't count chickens). Boston even had the wrong Dimaggio:knockedout:, so that would bring about some hate. Prior to 2004 all they had was Ted Williams to hold up, now they have 2 World Series and this year a great golf tournament.

That's easy, Carl Yastrzemski. There's no denying that Boston has had some great players but they've also had a lot of under achieving teams. In my lifetime the Yankees have won 12 titiles, since I've followed them (1961), they got 8 along with numerous AL pennants. they have had underachieving years as well but you can always rest assured that they will be back in short order on top as the Yankees are the team by which team sport success is always measured. The Red Sox had 88 years of futility which at the time was the 3rd longest streak of that sort. btw, Bill Buckner's play did not end the game so I always wondered why he took the brunt of blame for the loss in 86.Frank, the question is: What have you done for me lately? You guys can keep bringing up the 26 WS championships, but the reality is, most of you haven't even been alive and/or witnessed even half of those. Since I've been born ('79) they've won 4 (while losing 3 times as well)....wow. So in my 30 years it's 4-2.....again....wow.
Ted Williams won the triple crown twice; also the last man to bat .400 in a season. The man was money, and served his country in the process.
BTW - Who was the last batter to win the triple crown again? (Hint 1967)![]()
I'm just going to sit back and watch how it unfolds. The Yankees can very easily yet again become a victim of their own demise. That karma thing can be a real b*tch in the end...

Also, those 4 titles you mentioned came in 5 years, Boston has never even achieved winning the division in a stretch like that. Ted Williams record will never be broken and ironically Joe Dimaggio's hit streak achieved the same year will also not be broken but, look at who won the World Series that year completing a 4-peat, the NEW YORK YANKEES:01:.
Every franchise has had its share of underachieving teams. The Red Sox certainly have. Division titles are nice, but ultimately they need not matter in the quest for the ultimate prize; A world series championship.
I think it's awesome that you've been able to witness those feats up to now in your lifetime. As I said above, I've now been able to see 2 myself; almost 3 if the '86 disaster didn't happen. In my years, the Yankees have won 4, and the Red Sox have won 2. There is certainly no domination there in terms of achieving the ultimate goal.
I agree that neither milestone will ever be eclipsed. Even the thought of it now is amazing.
The whole "Blame Buckner" for the '86 WS loss pisses me off. The game wasn't over, and it was only Game 6 to begin with. It was not ultimately Buckner's fault that they lost that game. Their relief pitching (Schiraldi/Stanley) had more to do with them losing game 6 than Buckner did. They had a 2-run lead going into the bottom of the 10th for god's sake...
Yes, you're right... There is no discernable difference in having twice as many championships...
:wtf1:
Take another bong hit.

I see the point of my posts has completely evaded your comprehension. No surprise there. Take another bong hit yourself there, corky. :twak:
