R.I.P. USP Labs

Well, example, MedFit made a methyl tren nasal spray. It really had methyl tren in it, listed on the label and everything. Sold as a normal PH supplement OTC.

Companies just need to have massive balls.

But weren't those sold when prohormines were allowed to be sold?

Technically they did not kill the person. Was there not a story that she took 3x the dosage and went running? Maybe a different story??

With all due respect to her family, that's a lack of education. Not saying it's her "fault". Just a slip up in researching what was in it. This unless dmaa was hidden but I cant remember.

I know I'm in the very low minority but even in highschool I wouldn't take the OG NoDoz without trying to figure out what was in it.

But I was different I guess. I overly paced myself when drinking. If i seen someone getting drunk from 5 shots of whiskey then I'd only do two...
I did not have time to check the story, just wanted to see what he issue was news wise with USP.. also was in the service and once being 19 heading to base GNC myself.. There were steroids (designer pro hormones) I could have got back in 1999-2003 easy. And no way I was mature enough, even with a science background.. to use them then.

Young soldiers are busy morning, noon, and night - no time to research compounds endlessly. They should be able to trust stuff at the base GNC without unknown amphetamines, or other things like steroids that can fry ones' liver or kidney. And hell, when I was in boot camp everyone was detoxing something, they would eat vitamin C chews from the BX until their pee turned colors.

Anyway, I generally fall on the side of freedom of choice and personal responsibility, but empathy of a dad and being a former young airman who made dumb mistakes himself.

Very doubtful that using up to 3 scoops of Jacked, or the prescribed dose of Oxylite killed 2 soldiers. DMAA is in the short term shown to not have a rise in BP or heart rate at low doses.

I won't disagree.

I've had one cousin and my God son die(literally 20yrs old)from Pharmaceutical prescription medicines. Even with all of the precautions and warnings, they were taken off of this planet. Some of it was there fault, MUCH of it is big pharma and the doctors handing our dangerous opioids like candy back then.

But I digress...

As I said, from 9th grade i was overly cautious of anything that went into my body. That being said, I had older sisters and brothers whom were in the medical field of some sorts so I had a bridge to help me go the path.

But even with those people around me, I never used their knowledge of anything. It was just the "kitchen" table discussions that got me interested in supplements and researching what I could at a highschool age. Steroids were the prevalence back then. But not hidden, straight up in front of my face.

But again, I was overly, beyond, fascinated by the human body, mind, and what made it tick.

Not sure. I thought one story stated 3 scoops...could have been 3x the dosage or it very well could be something similar to the quote below...

Heres a quote from the article of one Soldier that passed

"""""""His mother, after his death, walks into GNC and asks about Jack3d...

Bypassing the shelves of vitamins and protein bars, Ms. Sparling headed directly for the locked shelf displaying the original Jack3d and a new formulation, Jack3d Micro, which does not contain DMAA.

When a young sales associate came over, Ms. Sparling asked about Jack3d. He told her it was a “high energy” workout product and recommended that she buy the Micro as well as the original and “stack them” together. He also recommended that Jack3d not be taken after 2 p.m., as he said it could interfere with sleep"""""

This, more than the products themselves are more responsible for people getting sick. Some person says to buy both versions and stack them. Uneducated employees, hired to do a minimum wage job and suggest dietary products. This alone is trash to the least. Yes some "vitamin" stores have educated sales people but I'd bet it's less than 10%.

One simple fact...hundreds of thousands of bottles of Oxy and Jacked have been consumed with exponentially less deaths reported. I cannot just blame a product that doesn't cause significant issues in at least 15% of the people using it. Even using an outlier of those whom use and just write off the ill effects as "a one off" and dont report anything. Still there are not significant number in deaths.

Take prescription meds for example....millions upon millions made off of oxycontin and thousands upon thousands of complaints about it...one does = the other.

But there just isnt enough correlation with dmaa and or (insert exotic here) and deaths.

By no means am I removing blame from USP or any of the other umpteen companies that have been caught over the past 12-15 yrs...I agree that mislabeling something which someone is going to put into their body is absolutely illegal and should be dealt with as such.

So if I hand out crack to kids and tell them it's candy, I'm Willy ****ing Wonka?! That makes me generous? They lied and somebody could have gotten seriously harmed. People are on all kinds of supplements and medications, so something that might be benign for most could be extremely dangerous to somebody else, especially because of interactions. It's also this kind of crap that is going to make it harder for honest supplement companies and gives the FDA yet another reason to step up restrictions.

Iv been saying this for years . Company s are shady.

Well they did label DMAA in the supplements that had it, and there were 2 or 3 that may of been related to DMAA. But what dose did they take? What did they mix with? What was their hydration level? I was in the army, most drink alcohol, use chewing tobacco, cigarettes, and nicotine vapes. When you combine the lack of sleep, dehydration, too much DMAA, nicotine, then training on a compromised body, I don't blame the supplement company, at least not for the DMAA issues, I blame the user, or abuser rather. The bottle says, "do not exceed this amount in 24 hours", most supp bottles says not to combine with alcohol, or has warning labels on them. USPLabs may of been shady, but they did put DMAA on the labels of products it was in.

Easy. They just do. They’re carried in a whole pile of brick and mortar as well as online stores.

Yeah I see. That cant be done where I live. The cops walk in an take items off the shelves all of the time around here saying its illegal. Then 3 weeks later you catch said cop with it in their gym bag...lol

I know in Atlanta, a place I frequent, they just told me the feds raided their store and one guy swears on his son that he knows one of the feds personally and that someone "with inside info" says said fed agent is dirty and sells drugs off of his take.

Hell when I was pushing testosterone 20 years ago I had two cops from my own gym pull rank on me and take my gym bag, money, and threaten to "do something" to my nephew and sister if I talked.

Cops like that I hope wouldn't last long. People eventually reap what they sew.

Back then lots of companies were spiking to much temptation to get rich quick.

LegalGear snapped their fingers like Thanos,16yrs ago, and the whole dietary industry got flipped.

But in an indirect way, Bill Phillips and that company which pushed steroidike gains from Boron caused LegalGear to snap those fingers.

Cant speak for everyone but I have followed USPlabs from the very start. I was even lucky enough to be one of the lucky ones to receive OxyElite Powder to even try. I loved Versa 1 and whatever was in PRIME man ol man!!! They will be missed and I would still even buy form them today. Gray area or not I loved their products.

what is with all the USP and Prime bumps today?

He really loved the Prime product and some people had requested that we do a product with that ingredient in there and a group of us have been having an ongoing discussion about it for a few days and we'd made the decision to do one, so some people are very excited about that.

haha I’d stack but not sure it will be the same. Who knows what was in those early bottles

A group of people have been having an ongoing discussion about that in another thread and people said they responded the same to the Precision Research Primal product as the original USP Labs Prime (Primal came out to be a Prime replacement at one point and were supposed to be the same raws used in Prime). That's encouraging that people said they responded the same to that as the original Prime because I know for 100% sure I can get the exact same raws that were used in Primal.

Discussion on this had been going a little but starts more starting with post 804:

Was Mechabol even around yet?

product called mechabol maybe not .. but yeah the compound - 4-chloro-17a-methyl-androst-4-en-17B-ol-3-one

been out for a while

i remember reading mechabol lol

I really doubt that the original Prime was spiked. I'm normally as skeptical as anyone when it comes to the original USP Labs products, but with Prime - I know the Precision Research Primal wasn't spiked and so many people said they did just as good off of Primal as they did Prime.

I do think in general - the ingredient in Prime, Primal, and the one we will do - that like a lot of herbal ingredients, there are going to be some people that respond to it better than others. I think it will work well for most everyone but there will extreme responders, like some of us have been discussing in another thread, and then there will be those that do well off of it but don't respond as extreme as others do.

oh no not prime .. we were talking about versa-1

Actually, USP Labs is alive and well. USP Labs had been resurrected under the umbrella of Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals. The Classic Lineup is back!

It has been for awhile. This was a very old thread that had gotten bumped for newer discussion on a topic.

Yes, member of The Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals Family now.

Yes, that's what I said in my above post - that it has been for awhile now.

This thread was from 2019 - USP has been one of Hi-Techs brands for awhile now.

It simply got bumped bc of conversation on older USP Labs products.

It's funny how these old threads pop up sometimes !

There was some talk about USP Labs Prime in this thread, and some of the people have asked me when Prime XT would be available, so I wanted to let everyone know that we just launched it.

Here is a link to the intro thread with launch sale:
