And I need no praying. Pray for the mass graves I got to experience in the middle east, or the villages who got to experience chemical weapons in syria, or the Kurds who got a taste of mustard gas from their own government.

I respect you believe so vehemently. But someone like me; it makes me question things. And if God did present us with free will, I think he/she would appreciate the fact my morals are strong enough to question an omnipotent entity that allows such travesty to happen to good people.

I quoted a verse from the Bible saying what the Lord said. I did not say if you dont read the Bible you wont get into heaven. I was using that verse as an exmaple. and its ok, I still want to pray for you and I will.

and its normal for people to question everything and anything. thats how you learn. thats how you find out if its right or wrong.

God couldn't think of another way to have a relationship with us? He's supposedly perfect so why so many people are starving and dying so young from diseases and all sorts of things? If God new we was capable of all that than he could've tweaked us and make us better. Free will doesn't exist. He made us knowing what we capable of doing. I saw a video here giving an example. If you made a robot a new it was capable of ruining your lab when done is that part your fault? For knowing it was a chance it will?

you take what i say out of context, my gosh. OT has things in there that we do not abide by anymore like burnt offerings and things like that. It is still very relevant.

and revelations does have predictions, but the one stated above was referring to the anti christ with a human assumption, which is not in Rev.

This is turning into an argument, i wont be posting on here anymore. any questions, PM me

we have our own free will to think, kill ourselves, run into a wall, front flip off the couch. Free will allows people to not believe in the Lord. Is your choice, not His. If free will does not exist, dont you think The Lord will make you choose Him? I think so, but just my opinion.
 
If we had the technology we have now back when all this happened the word God and the bible wouldn't exist. Why is it that all bad things are happening now and not one miracle has happened as it did back than? Because back than anyone can either lie or write anything without any solid proof. Now you can't go ahead and say this and that and anyone will believe it. People all around the world make fake alien footage to say they saw an alien. But technology proves some are fake. Same can go to those days.

It's really pretty simple. In order to remove suffering from this world, God would have to remove sin. In order to remove sin He would have to remove sinners. "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Rom 3:23) He gave us a "free will". It is up to each of us how we use it.

Satan even believes there is a God.... you have to accept Him as your Lord. All the rest about heaven, I dont know man. Thats between you and the Lord.

He will intervene, read Revelations. God deals with mankind differently at different periods in time (dispensations). Just like you deal with your children differently at different stages of their lives.

without watching (sorry, and forgive me if i am mistaken in your point) - again, i do not dispute the bible as a sort of historical abstract..somewhat like what our history books are based off of, in school

the relevancy and historical documentation insofar as it pertains to a god in a heaven, commanding us and frowning down upon us..well, i need not continue

You want to know who God is then read what Christ had to say. He is the New Covenant - the Old (covenant) Testament is no longer valid. So do not reference it.

Homosexuality, adultery, murder, stealing, envy, gluteny are all sin and seperate us from God. Christ offers all of us sinners reconcilliation with God.

When people who don't know the bible use the bible to invalidate the bible it is quite silly.

let's talk about this concept then
essentially, ppl can go on committing these sins you mention, so long as they keep asking forgiveness and believe that they are forgiven (because in order to believe you must first believe christ truly is the son of god, so he has that power to forgive)

seems a little convenient to me

on the flip: a good person, who lives life justly and fairly, does right by his fellow man, goes out of his way to help a stranger - and yet, is an atheist or an agnostic, they are destined to burn forever

i was raised in a fairly religious family, multi-denominational segments thruout..
went to parochial school for 5yrs..
and was heavily involved in the church as a youth
(in fact, at one point i thought my calling was to be a minister)

not saying i am the authority by any means here, but just to explain that i am fairly familiar with these concepts being hashed about

my thoughts? just my opinion, nothing else:

God allowed sin into the world, because we have free will (you may argue with this, just my opinion). Because of this, terrible things happen in the world. Just because you are a christian doesnt mean your life will be perfect. Actually, quite too often its the opposite. God allows us to be in certain places in our lives at certain times to grow our faith and trust in Him which will bring us closer to Him. He wants a relationship with everybody. I cant tell you how many times I have been literally walking into a certain situation and before i go in, I pray to my Lord that I will have favor and that His will be done in this situation and come out on top. whether somebody wants to call that luck, coincidence or whatever, i believe my God provided for me as he does with anyone else who places there trust in Him and Him alone.

I do not know why babies starve in Africa, or why certain things happen. I was 9 when my father passed away. To this day I do not know why that happened, but it has lead me to sooooo many awesome opportunities. because of his death, I moved to Houston which is where I met my future wife, school, awesome job opp., friends that i wouldnt replace with anyone else with...etc. THats just one example. I realized I am blessed and I give my thanks to my Lord.

Man, I'm not an expert here but it sounds like you are bitter towards God. I wouldn't dare argue with someone bitter at God. You'll just have to answer to that in the end. Besides, the unbelieving won't be convinced by explanations alone anyways. How could you? The world is very effective at covering up the reality that we've been torn from a loving God, and ever since man has attempted to fill this void with earthly treasures. In that attempt, much pain has been experienced. This is the pain of imperfection, which was something we chose and still choose every single day - even the Christians often times choose this painful way over God's way. This is why we need Christ in the first place. And I'm not necessarily saying that you are or are not this or that, but it does take a prideful heart to question/rebuke something you do not fully understand. It's not that God's way is flawed, but that our way is flawed.

But you'll be convinced by something entirely different than a good argument. It's it the famous words of Jesus saying: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. [SUP]35 [/SUP]By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

I'd love to respond to the initial post you made, but I would prefer to in PM only since we'd be severely distracted by everyone else.
