Pregnenolone vs Chronic Fatigue

Hey guys…
So I previously posted about my interest in pregnenolone as a possible treatment for chronic fatigue. In my case:

1) test levels are fine due to TRT
2) estrogen is in check
3) prolactin is normal
4) cortisol was high but normal PRIOR to me incorporating bAET so assumption tells me it’s normal now.
5) I was on and off and back on antidepressants and that resulted in no change
6) I regularly consume stims however I have gone 6 months before with not even a soda and felt zero difference

despite all this, fatigue and brain fog continue…

I have taken anabolics since my teenage years so a theory I have is that perhaps at some point it messed up my bodies ability to make pregnenolone. I have also never felt quite the same since getting MONO so that is also linked to chronic fatigue. Could be a combo of the two.
Anyways, pregnenolone has some research behind it in CFS patients and is notably lower in TRT patients.
For the next 30 days minimum, I will be dosing Alpha Gainz Alpha P5 which is TD pregnenolone at 25mgs/ml. It’s cheap! I will be logging my daily feels and note any improvements or side effects.
If everything works well, I will most likely swap to Iconic Formulations Neuro P5 which I believe is the same exact thing but #supporticonicformulations lol

How long have you been on trt? Sometimes you might need to supplement pregnenolone and dhea.

Just supplementing dosent always work tho. You might need to run some hcg for a while and then supplements. It should improve well being, energy and libido

Well my chronic fatigue issues stretch long before TRT started but full time trt for 18 months. Have used dhea during that time and before that time but never pregnenolone

Also HCG didn’t help anything except ball size. No extra energy or other feelings that were noticeable. I stopped it all together because I don’t care about ball size anymore lol. Makes sense he ol ween look bigger

Ok different issue then. Anything stand out on blood markers?

C reactive protein numbers
Kidney function
Vitamin d levels

There's a lot of things that could be the issue. Just tossing ideas around outside of pregnenolone

Every bit of blood work has been in check. Took a metabolic panel multiple times. All organs functioning as they should. One urinalysis showed low gravity but that was only one test. Recently had one of those food sensitivity tests to see if something was flaring up my body but nothing stood out

starting stats:
Fatigue: 8/10
Brain fog: 9/10
Day1:
Woke up at 8:30am, shower, exfoliated my feet, and applied .5ml to the top of each foot (1ml total). I let dry and applied lotion 10 mins later.

probably too soon to tell anything but what I did notice is a slight reduction in brain fog starting at about 2:30pm and lasting so far. Will report tomorrow on my sleep quality as well as how the second dose goes.
Day 1 stats:
Fatigue: 8/10
Brain Fog: 6/10 starting at 2:30

How is your sleep typically?

Btw, to my knowledge AG and IF have the same ownership (at least partially, if not fully).

Typically it is not that bad. I usually never toss and turn and I was doing it really bad last night.
And yes I believe @delsolrob is involved in both. Same same but different….but still same!

thanks! I'm looking forward to see how the P5 treats you! Yeah, Neuro P5 and Alpha P5 are the same - just the Neuro P5 is scented with clary sage - as are all the Neuro topicals from Iconic Formulations. I actually really enjoy the scent of clary sage and also believe it works quite synergistically for the product line.

thank you much for the support - both for Alpha Gainz and Iconic Formulations!

I’m actually excited about the scent thing. I didn’t know that was a thing. Sweet!

Ok so day 2. Felt pretty good actually today. Had some stomach issues that I do not think are related.
considering how bad my sleep was last night, I am pretty sure I feel slightly better.
Day 2 Stats:
Fatigue 8/10 still but even with poor sleep
Brain fog: all day 6/10 so the improvement carried over.

hopefully sleep tonight is good so I can better judge tomorrow

Night 2 update: I just woke up. Took me 3 hours to fall asleep. Definitely think either 1) this stuff is terrible for my sleep. Or 2) my body has gone so long I n a deficiency that it’s just adjusting and throwing off my life for a bit.
Will see how the day goes and I’m not ready to give up yet

I sleep like ****, almost always. During the week I deal with it because I only have a 5-6hour window each night where I actually can sleep. My day ends around 8pm, by the time I eat my last meal and wind down it's between 930-10 and I get up around 3:45am for work.

But on the weekends I can sleep more.

I use 3 scoops of this (full transparency, I'm a rep for this company) but it helps me relax and sleep longer

I also will sometimes combine this with Neuro melatonin. I like to apply the neuro melatonin to my throat, upper pecs and a little on my temples.

Idk if there's any reason to apply to those spots but 1. I like the smell, and 2. My stupid brain likes to think that because I'm applying it closer to my head it's going to cross the blood-brain barrier faster lol. No science there that I know of tho 😂

I have unlimited time to sleep (I’m a student currently for online classes)
I haven’t had any issues with sleeping.
I usually take hi-Tec somatomax and that knocks me out (I cycle it because of the phenibut). I also take 5mg of melatonin a night.
last night I had to take all of that, an ambien I had still, a unisom, and a few puffs of my thc vape to finally fall asleep.
This is extremely atypical of my normal sleep and the only thing different these past two nights has been the pregnenolone

Day 3:
For what sleep I got, I felt fantastic today. I actually had some motivation and energy to do some long put off housework.
I truly can’t wait to see what I feel like when I actually get some good sleep. Brain fog is definitely going away so I’m believing more and more this might correct some of my issue!
Day 3 stats:
Fatigue: 6/10 despite terrible sleep
Brain fog: 4/10 fantastic for me!

Ok guys so for the large delay. I spent quite a few days not feeling so hot because my wife did some “rearranging” of my stuff and I didn’t check out of habit. What I thought was my liquid viagra was actually my adex so…. I ended up taking like 2mgs of adex in a span of 4 days which definitely had me feeling not so great lol. All back to normal now. Anyways… alpha p5 is still working its magic. Sleep has been pretty decent with the exception of one night I watched a scary movie and it kept me up lol. Brain fog is down to maybe a 2/10 today which is absolutely amazing and fatigue is like a 4/10. All in all best I have felt in years. Will update if anything else happens.

Will you be increasing the dose? There are studies up to 400mg per day.

I think 400mg a day would be ridiculous. Also I’m going to assume transdermal greatly increases absorption. Got a link to that study? The transdermal I’m using is 25mgs/ml and I use 1 ml a day. With the effects it has, I MIGHT try 2ml but that would be my personally cap on it I think

There are no markings on the AG dropper to support accurate dosing! At least for the bottle I have. Really inconvenient. Can this be fixed please AG.

Mine has markings. AG as well. But a full dropper (as full as it will get with a good squeeze) is 1ml which is a full dose. So…. Seems like a really easy fix lol

Upon further research pregnenolone has extremely poor bioavailability when used orally so that explains the dose discrepancy

Must be my batch then. I'm planning on dosing .5ml so need some way of measuring that dose. I feel It's important to have some accuracy with hormonal supplements. I'll have to see I'd I have any old droppers lying around

I usually keep one clean one around for situations like these. You can also buy some measuring syringes from grocery store or pharmacy.

FWIW I just purchased two bottles of the Nero P5. I’ve been on TRT for 10 years and have always taken oral preg. Recently I had labs done and my preg level was none existent. My dr asked me why I wasn’t taking it and I said I take it almost every day (I may forget a day or two a week but that shouldn’t matter that much). I’m interested to see how much this increases my levels. I asked for more labs in January.
