PES Select Protein: Read up!

Do you actually own that or just a net picture?

Lol I know you take your ice cream seriously

I may take my ice cream seriously . . . but I do buy Good Humor Ice Cream

Perhaps I need to create a poll one which the best flavour is.

I think the most positive reviews have been from snickerdoodle but I think that is because it sold more.

Who has tried all three and can compare?

i think its going to come down to user and their taste buds, but for the vast majority it seems SD

For me it comes down to the use of each. Shake, ice cream, proats, etc I have different favorites. :)

Strange, I can't help but say it aloud sometimes but I never use it in writing/texting

what kind of casein dose select use? is it micellar casein or the other kind. since i have this, what about Optimum gold whey? so thats worthless now? i really think this is bs a little bit

So is ON Gold whey still good? iv got a whole bag.... what if i use select in morning then the ON after training would be a waste other wise that website basically said its bad wtf

Its not bad just not optimal. It is protein in the end, differences will be slight. Use it until its gone then make the full commit to Select.

It's expected for the brainwashed mainstream to naturally defer to ON 100% whey and friends. Changes in the consumer mindset take time. Maybe if you spend the time to read every reference at selectprotein.com, you will be able to sort out the real BS from facts

No it's fine, a blend is superior though.

but i don't get it. what difference will you see? lol at the end of the day if you hit your macros that's all that matters, and also it says that whey spikes insulin over 700%, why wouldn't you want that after an intense workout, then just eat a soild meal hitting 3-4g leucine from animal protein or a complete whole food source, sounds reallly like allot of hype over nothing, I have two tubs of select and the taste > the ON whey iv had for 2-3 years now lol but iv made great gains on i just can't see how it will make a significant difference,

I thought that the only thing that mattered in maxing out MPS was reaching the x amount of leucine from a more bio avaliable source

It depends on your diet and how large of a % of your protein intake comes from shakes. Obviously if you have 1, maybe 2 shakes a day, the difference won't be noticeable

negative.
Fruit flavors just dont sell well on the market.

That's not a fruit flavor, it's a pastry flavor.

Although it's funny that you always say that in response to blueberry flavors but you'll push for peanut butter banana all day.

Isn't that a fruit flavor?

Also, how well do peanut butter flavors sell?! I can't think of any that sell particularly well in comparison to the number of people who just by chocolate/vanilla.

How about snickerdoodle? Does it sell a lot of protein in comparison to the amount of chocolate/vanilla powders that sell?

PB Cookiie dough, never said banana. I think cooper is going to or helping design a choc pb banana swirl or something? not 100% sure.

Chocolate/Vanilla will never be replaced as the #1/#2 sellers on the market period, #3 behind them in strawberry in terms of sales in a general population (as those were the major 3 flavors when protein powders did come out)

i cant speak on behalf of PES and their sales i dont work for the company so i could not address that. besides forums sales are nearly 7-8% of total sales for the comapny, so in correlation to SD i have no idea. But i do know some companies who have a good selling PB flavor that does get a lot of recognition.

Strawberry is number three you say? That's strange because strawberries are fruit and, according to you, fruit flavors don't sell.

If all specialty flavors don't typically sell as well as the regular Vanilla/Chocolate, then obviously the smart choice for PES is to scrap any ideas (not just mine, but yours too) and make vanilla.

I'm just saying, every time you post a flavor idea that you would like to see nobody points it out and says "PB flavors don't sell well, chocolate/vanilla sell the best." so why do you do that any time someone posts a flavor option that they would like to have?

i told you strawberry has been on the market since the dark ages of protein, what were the 3 flavors release when protein powder companies made protein, vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. If you look at all companies and their product line those are usually the core 3 flavors made for comapnies (not for all companies) hence why those are the 3 selling flavors talking about sales and history of protein powders. That is why strawberry is 3

think about fruit flavors for a second. They are VERY hit or miss, most people dont like certain fruits and are turned off by them, that is why they dont sell so well. some people may like bananas some may hate them making it a love hate relationship and something that wont sell as a basic chocolate/vanilla will.
Not to mention the flavoring of fruit products and protein may be a little off and provide a chemical kind of taste (not saying this about any company) but if PES did make it would it be good? i bet it would.

Thing is. Protein powders dont make lots of money, period, the cost of the raw materials are so much and continue to rise that making more flavors of protein powders dont generate much money for the company besides helping expand the line and market the company.

negative.

I said bake, not sell.

However, I will say that amongst mass marketing stratagems companies currently use, there is still a room for companies to utilize a niche marketing strategy for flavors such as Blueberry Crisp a la Mode.

If you bake and send me some actual Blueberry Crisp to eat a la mode, I will see what I can do.

Disclaimer: I have absolutely no pull in what the next flavor will be lol

On that same note, think about nut butter flavors for a second. They are very hit or miss, and there are some people (like myself) who do not like peanut butter who are turned off by them, and that is why they don't sell well. Etc....

My point is, when you say you want PBCD or PBBS, NO ONE says "yeah, but those flavors don't sell well." to you, so why do you find it necessary to do it to other people?

Rarely do I find the "unique" flavors to pay off much, with that in mind Im very glad the PES chocolate is very well done. Really enjoying going through my tub of this at 4 scoops a day spread throughout two shakes. Happy customer right here.
