i agree with monster. unless you are in some serious, serious pain, (back pumps not included) stick to ibuprofen. DO NOT take tylenol/acetaminophen/paracetamol on cycle, as this **** is so liver toxic you have no clue. in my own experience, tylenol can have similar effects as alcohol on the liver when taken at high enough dose. the problem is nobody thinks what theyre taking is too high a dose. the body WILL break down and probably suffer liver failure when daily dosages approach 5-6g. keep in mind a standard dose of xtra strength tylenol is 1g, so be careful. PLUS everyone forgets about other sources of the drug, mainly OTC cold preparations, which contain anywhere from 325mg-1g of additional acetaminophen per dose. IF you are really in such bad pain while cycling, and MUST refer to real pain meds (i.e. opiates), DO NOT take any drug that is a preparation, meaning any drug that is combined with tylenol (percocet, vicodin, roxicet, etc); instead take a pure opiate such as roxicodone, oxycontin, oxy-IR, etc.
I was once an opiate addict and know my **** in this regard. i'm also aware you might be saying to yourself 'wtf, go take oxy's?', but trust me, your liver will thank you for feeding it just the opiate and not the acetaminophen, or worse the combination of the two. also keep in mind that i am in no way advocating the abuse of these chemicals, but the proper use of them at therapeutic dosages. don't nobody go blow a ****ing 80 now.
if you can only get a 'prepared' main med (tylenol containing) like percocet or vicodin, there are very easy ways to bypass this problem, save your liver, and kill your pain instead. it's called cold water extraction and can be accomplished by a 4 year old. i'd post a link but i am still under 50posts total and can't post links just yet.
so, google 'cold water extraction' and click on the first result, Harry's Extraction method
this quick little trick can help anyone, not just cyclers, in fact cyclers should be the very last people to do this because if you're really playing it safe you'd stick with the advil.
for those still unconvinced, my best friend lost his dad back when we were in highschool... to tylenol. the guy was a dear friend of mine as well. at 59, after years of tylenol use, his body could not take it any long. he went into a coma while in his hotel room on a business trip, and died 4 days later. he wasn't a drinker, wasn't a partier or drug user, but he did take a lot of ****in tylenol. to this day i stay well the **** away from tylenol and acetaminophen containing preparations
