thanks I was going for leaner but I had not competed for 8 years so I was off on my timing and like I said I will be holding about 10 more lbs mass come April 25th so hope to look a bit better, time is a bit of a bitch though.

Are you basically doing contest prep then? Contest prep diet and everything?

Yah especially those 3 poses which are basically some of my stongest. I did have some problems with my mid-section last year and will be using cort-blockers and Clenviscerate to handle that, traditionally that had not been a problem so it caught me at unawares... the other 2 are always very solid though.

Bottom line is to just have fun with it, and for me that involves doing the best I can. I enjoy the challenge of competing with you young guys, I know my experience makes up for a lot but it just feels great to be my age and still jamming...

Very close but not completely, I will do some kind of carb load for the pics, but I will be doing some experimenting with diet. I am thinking of combining the Grapefruit lean beef diet and adding in Fresh fish.. my fish is flash frozen so it's similar. Maybe the last 4 weeks with one carb up in the middle..

yah well that again is because I have made the mistakes it takes to get to this point lol

I have to be more precise because my margin for error is much smaller. Believe me getting into that kind of shape at 52 is no picnic.. well it never is but it's harder as you get older, so it all works out.
 
If you show up on April 25th looking like you did in those pics, I honestly don't see how anyone could stand a chance against you in this competition. That was all natural, and this time you've got some help. Looks like I'll have to bring my A-game for sure. The crab most muscular is my weakest pose, but I feel like my rear double bicep and my Ab & Thigh are pretty solid. I guess I need to work on my MM

Thanks for the vote of confidence, I have my work cut out for me and my prep last year was 20 weeks and this is only 15 weeks total with only 12 left...
 
Blasted through my workout again 40 minutes full body. It's tough to keep this pace but I find my conditioning is improving so much because of it...

Front Squats 215 X 10 X 2
Incline db press 80 X 10 X 2
Lat pull-down 155 X 10 X 2
Bent over rows 165 X 10 X 2
Push Press 130 X 10 X 2 ended up being a 10 lb jump as I was supposed to do more last time..
Decline tri ext 100 X 10 X 2
O bar curl 125 X 10 X 2
Calf raise 125 X 10 X 2

Weighed in at 238 last night 9 lbs down in 19 days but only 2 lbs this last week.
 
Ok here's my impression concerning the 2 lbs loss last week, it just seems like more than that as my clothing got very loose. I can't believe my 36 inch kahki's are way to big for me and will have to go to 34's well before I hit 230 by the looks of things. Last year I was around 220 before I made this move, I know I have gained mass but it's just surprising to see this happen.
 
You are going to be a cut mountain when this is done DW. Oh yeah speaking of wives disaggreeing with competitions. I am talking with the wife and I say that "I am going to be cutting up more now and then recomping for a bit before I try for a run at an October or November show." She says WHAT!?!?! I thought you weren't going to do another one for a while. I said Hey my shoulder isn't thrashed and I may have a chance at being competition ready by then. Well she wasn't overly pleased with that news. I assured her this approach would be better because i wouldn't be scrambling for anything. I already had all my resources, posing DVD's, diets plans peak week approach so thestress levels were going to be a lot lower. That and I don't know if you remember the trouble I had with my house during the last 3 weeks of prep but that was a nightmare. No time for posing because I was trying to fix the roof. You can imagine the stress. So if I expect to do another one after this next one. The prep had better go relatively well. LOL

I've recently learned that posing gets tiring pretty quickly.

Oh yah, I used to practice all my mandatories 2 to 3 times a day and hold the poses for 30 to 45 seconds just to get used to it.. cuz on stage it's 10 times as bad... yah we're smiling but if you look closely you'll see it's more of a grimace...

DW has an unfair advantage over all of us. He's a poser!

Remember when I said that the 2 lbs I lost looked like more, well I have gotten comments on how much weight I lost and it's very early for those kinds of impressions... what the fug is this T2 stuff, mixed with OEP it's is really wild..

Adding the BCAA's probably staved off any muslce loss as well. That's what I mean by acting instead of reacting. The margin of error is pretty large seeing at it is never too early to start BCAA's so I am not letting it go to my head. Can't let that happen when time is so short...

Go back in the log, he outlines it. It is the standard PES dosing schedule that is 1/2, then 1/1 with AT-2/OEP. I think you can go up to 2/2 then 2/1 if you want but that takes time or you sweat yourself into dehydration. I did the 3 AT-2 and 4 OEP, it was out of hand how stimmed I was. That and the amount of alpha-y is out of hand man, my hands were so cold somtimes, it has that effect on me.

Yah I am 1 OEP and 2 Alpha am and 2 oep and 1 alpha pm 2 and and 2 and 1 would be the next step but not necessary at this time.
 
Nice, the carb up looks good on me, chest popped out and abs too...

Couple of things though a pack of rice crackers is only 100 grams so to get 200 grams of rice crackers it tales two packs which is rather unpleasant. I will adjust that next time. Friday night I go out with my wife so I have to order some pasta and light tomato sauce but I find myself sitting at the restaurant still have starved. I will have to have a bagel or some rice or something before I go out.
 
Thought I'd share my refeed oatmeal recipe...

4 cups oats
9 cups water
1/2 cup unpasteurized honey
1/2 cup unsweetened preserves

Just throw everything in when the oatmeal is just about cooked and stir.. very simple very tasty...

Each cup cooked is 75-80 grams of carbs...
 
That's a lot of oats!!! I have a hard time eating 1.5 cups cooked, I usually have to grind and drink them!

Yeh I usually take them ground up raw in my shakes. Easier to get oats in for me
 
Destroyed it again this morning, didn't time it but it was quick enough. I really worked my front squats hard and deep, slowing it down to really squeeze the juice out of them...

Way to kill it DW. Those are some nice front squats and curls you got there. Also, glad to hear the carb up went well. Mine are filling me out, but I seem to be spilling over fast.. Keep getting after it man.

A fast spill over just means you can stop carbing sooner. I got some pretty favorable results but will make some adjustments, maybe some fat free ice cream or yogurt... might add some potatoes, going to get rid of the rice crackers...
 
I have to say, I am pretty pleased at the quality of my weight loss, looks like OEP and AT-2 are really synergistic, I know I hear others say this but it's different when you see it in action. I have run OEP with some success before but not this kind of quality fat loss. Either I am going to be down another 3 lbs this week or I am gaining a bit of muscle... who knows. Can't let that cloud me though, been there done that. I have to push to the wire less than 12 weeks left...

2 cup brocolli
3 grams fish oil

8pm 2 scoop protein

Thanks, I have my lifts... ones that I can still do for good power. If my shoulder gets 100% I will be able to some pretty nice back squats too...

Gotta say this is going very well, leaning way faster than I thought I would .. again with the risk of sounding repetitive OEP/AT-2 combo is stellar...
