NTNM - Diet , my un-scientific approach to leanness

I'm picturing Studhorse doing "sword fights" with a way taller dude, getting his face slapped while fighting the knees of the opponent. LMAO

Really having to choke those sausages down huh? Are they engorged???? :)

Yesterday I cheated heavily. Did not go to the gym either.
Cheat included lots of bakery and milk. My wife filled the fridge with imported Christmas stuff from Germany, I just couldn't resist.
Today started the punishment. Now fasting for a couple of days.

The voyage has his ups- and downs. The important thing is arrival at the end.

You show me someone who says they get it spot on every day of every week and I’ll show you a liar.

Being true to one self is the best you can do. I bet thousands of obese people would not admit they are cheaters -and that is why they cant drop weight.

This is very true. I’ve made countless mistakes in my life and lied to myself more times than I care to remember but I always knew (and admitted) that I was fat because I ate too much). I speak to many people who still blame their metabolism (they think I’m taking the piss when I tell them their metabolism is likely faster than a skinny person), or thyroid issues or lack of time. The saddest case I had was an 8 year old girl I was coaching in a kids class we offer at my gym. She’s already obese as is her mum (was also a member). I’m chatting to her mum afterwards and she looked me in the eye and said ‘I honestly don’t know how she’s put that weight on, all we eat at home is salad’

Response in my head was ‘who you ducking kidding sweetheart, at 8 she ain’t popping down Tesco for a couple of cream buns and a cake of coke now is she’

My actual response was ‘why don’t we try tracking everything she eats for a few months and see’. Kid was a nice kid as well, tried really hard in the sessions, Saddened me to see it though.

A friend of mine is a nutritionist, she does not work as one anymore for the reason you mentioned. People are liars and blame it at the end on you -and are always looking for a magical pill, while stuffing their mouth with food.

**** happens, important is to get up and keep going. Over time one develops a new relationship with food.

Good, glad you didn't go fasting for days to make up for having some glycogen in your system. Trust me if anything that boost in calories helped. Just go back to "normal" planned eating. IE... one meal a day. The glycogen will burn off in the next day or two if not already gone.

WTF? BUYING a diet plan? I may be old, but I'm not deluded.

I don’t have any issue with people selling diet plans but in my experience anyone who buys one never learns the actual principles of nutrition. I strongly believe that knowledge is the key to sustainable nutrition and health.

It’s the lazy option and 99/100 times will fail.

The best is to buy a book about diet.... and eat it.

Day 77/ Gym:

Cable reverse "V" flies , lower traps 2x15lbs
14/12/12/10 +6+6+4

Leg extensions 130 lbs, 10 sec pause between sets

seated calf raises
3 sets + 3 rest pause sets

Bicycle, sprint every 30sec for 15 sec, 5min

The Cardarine is kicking HARD. I totally forgot how awesome it is -or maybe there is more synergism with Telmisartan than I suspected. Recovery between sets and exercises is shortened to half.

My daily meal: Tilapia filet (own production), potatoes / 1 cup of frozen yoghurt / 50gr whey protein

I've been reading about Quasi-isometric training lately and decided to try it out as a finisher today. Basically it's super slow reps (like really slow. Like 4 minutes per rep slow) with light weight or body weight. Did pushups and bw squats after my back and bi workout just to try it out. 30 seconds eccentric and 30 seconds concentric. Unbelievable pump and now I'm sore as shyt! Have you ever tried this hairygrandpa?

That sounds insane. A full minute for one rep? I might have to try it. Maybe not on a pushup because Idk how many times I can hold myself mid-pushup for 30 seconds at a time.

I do 4.1.1 TUT routinely -but 60 sec for 1 rep? Sounds insane, I like it!

It uses the "Time under tension principle". Take curls as an example: Doing 10 reps with 3 seconds lowering =30 sec. eccentric TUT. Now you hold 1 rep for 30 sec. = should be the same result, as TUT is the same.

Not actually, the isometric contraction while holding and flexing is a much harder contraction than negative. However a negative does more physical damage to the muscle. Also the point at where you choose to hold the contraction is going to put more stress in that portion of the ROM. So say you have a weaker area of the ROM, and or were injured and trying to catch an area of the ROM back up then the isometrics would be good there also.

Definitely give the isometrics a shot, also try the super slow reps where you take 30 seconds for the concentric and 30 seconds for the eccentric. That is unreal. Try it with dips!!! Chest and Triceps will be toast and within a few minutes after the set the muscles fill up like balloons.

It's incredibly difficult. Not only trying to hit 30 seconds during the lowering portion and raising portion (30 seconds became an awfully long time), but your breathing has to change also. My chest, triceps and legs are still singing after 5 1/2 hours
