Next PES Insider Deal???

FedEx just dropped my 22.5+ pounds. I uploaded the Photos/Macros to Fat Secret for you guys. I *just* ate before the truck arrived, so I haven't had it yet, LOL.

Review ASAP lol

Let me live vicariously

I used a 1 1/2 scoops in some plain old water. I don't normally drink protein with just water so I can happily report that the texture was good and tasted very good.

I can imagine that if I put it in my usual post workout shake or pre-bed smoothie that is will taste fantastic!

They have their own Carbmaster yogurts.
Been saying this since day 1 with Select

8g protein, 4g carbs, 2g fat each carbmaster and come in tons of flavors.

Awesome brother. I've always just used other brands of plain Greek yogurt and spruced it up with select for flavoring. I'll definitely give those a shot. Looks like some tasty flavors offered.

So I'll have my first of two tastings tonight, in oatmeal. Then I made some pudding with water for before bed. I won't be able to try it with just cold water as a shake, until tomorrow.

Caramel Spiced Cake + Blondie is killer
SnickerDoodle + Pumpkin = Legit
Choc PB + Banana is very good.

The carb masters are solid.

Sounds like some killer combos. I stopped on the way home but the selection was pretty limited. Many rows were empty. I'll check again in a few days.

I've honestly tried over 30 vanillas and this is my fav one. My other favourites were the original pronom, and XF french vanilla.

Pumpkin, caramel, carrot and black forest all weren't at mine :(

Have to check back and check the other one in town. And then it's time for a road trip if necessary!

Okay, so I'm not sure what's going on.

I had my botched experiment last night. I attribute that to too little liquid given that it was milk.

I've tried 2 shakes today -- one mixed with just cold water and one with a little water and mostly vanilla CarbMaster milk.

Both clumped on me. Not terrible, but multiple chunks (size of a large marble/super ball).

I've opened 2 tubs (opened the one last night and took it to leave at work today) and a new one when I got home. In both, the scooper is acting like static electricity with the protein on the sides (similar to the magnet experiment with the small pieces of metal that look like pencil lead our science teachers did when we were kids). Is anyone else having that problem?

I'm hoping these problems are the reason I haven't found it as enjoyable as I'd hoped so far. I stocked up on the PBC insider and absolutely loved it. This hasn't tasted bad; just no where near as good (e.g. I'm not dying for my next serving like I was with PBC).

Regardless. I'll definitely use it for baking and it's not like I won't drink it. But unless I'm able to figure out what's going wrong so far, it definitely isn't a favorite (really, really hoping this is just a fluke and you guys can help me figure this out).

Take the scoop out and shake the tub.

Mine is mixing fine in 8oz of water, no blender ball needed (just had it as a matter of fact - and am drinking it in coffee as I type).

Ok, here is my unbiased review, coming from someone who found the PBC and SD samples too "light" on flavoring:

I use Vanilla 3 ways - straight up in water as a shake, as creamer/sweetener for coffee, and in Oatmeal. The Vanilla proteins I can remember consuming within the last year or so are True Nutrition, Raw Dynamix, ON, Pro-Jym, and Dymatize Elite XT.

While I still firmly believe value/quality (you get 24g in a *70cc* scoop and they have only 4 total ingredients) goes to a Whey/Casein blend from True Nutrition or Raw Dynamix - their flavoring isn't the same as your name brand proteins. I would rate it as Good to Real Good, but not "Oh My God!!!!" So toss those aside from a pure taste standpoint.

Of the others, I can say that PES Select Vanilla is *THE BEST* I've had when added to Oatmeal. I literally thought I was eating Tapioca Pudding last night. I was actually a little sad when the bowl was empty. Perfect flavoring level - One level 90cc scoop was definitely not "light". What it is, is you can do Vanilla two ways. Both can be outstanding, but they each have different "notes". You have a Vanilla Bean centric flavor, or a Non-Bean flavor - again, think Breyers with the bean specs, vs Hood without - both are great Ice Creams, but different. It's the Vanilla Bean emphasis that makes this great with food.

As a Coffee Creamer, I'd rate it as equal to Dymatize or Pro-Jym, better than ON. It was really good and I destroyed 32oz, but here, the Vanilla Bean emphasis detracts a tad, and in Coffee it doesn't have to pull a lot of duty, like it does in food.

Stand alone in water, I'd have to rate it a smidge behind Dymatize, equal to Pro-Jym, and better than ON. I don't know who Dymatize contracted for their Vanilla flavoring, but to me, that is still the best I've had in water. Of course, Dymatize Elite XT is low grade WPC and Soy, but we're just talking flavoring here.

Luckily for me, most of my protein is consumed in Oats, so I'm pretty fricken stoked :)

Thanks for the review! Ya I can't wait to try this in oats and use it to flavor my coffee. ;)

PES Vanilla is one of the best on the market (don't forget XF) and very good indeed, but whenever I see it compared to Snickerdoodle or PBC...I just think...lettuce be real tea....

honestly ive been drinking pbc for maybe 3 months straight so my taste may be off, but after two shakes of vanilla and protein icecream last night, it might take my number one spot. i need the rest of the weekend to finish making my final judgement. its rediculous in fairlife milk like not even close.

It's becoming the Gourmet Vanilla takeover

I'm about to try another go at mixed in water. Scoop is out, tub has been shaken up.

Cross your fingers for some luck here, boys.

Me too lol

That there high protein:carb ratio

What's the best way you guys make oats and protein , heat up the oats first then add the protein in ? I'm a savage sometimes I just mix it into my shake , blend the oats all together and chug it. It doesn't sit as well in my stomach tho

I like either cooked oatmeal with the protein mixed in or uncooked oats with water and it mixed in. then usually add some almonds or PB to it

FINALLY got my goodies! USPS is my least favorite ppl on earth for that mess. Making ice cream and a shake tonight to make up time ha

I usually heat and add but have also been known for the quick toss in the blender and dash route when in a hurry.

With Select, I can do 3/4-1 scoops with 80 grams of oats and still very good. 2 scoops would be insane!

I also think that the flavor really sticks out in overnight oats. I'm 100% overnight oat dude over heated oats.

I usually put the oats, water, raisins, and cinnamon together. Warm that up, making sure there is enough excess water, that add protein. It turns from soupy oatmeal to "real" oatmeal once the protein is added.

Thanks fellas I'm going to try it tonight

Invalid Link Removed so thick and creamy... Absolutely delicious. Easily the strongest vanilla flavor I've had.

So creamy in fact it finished off my ice cream maker (which was near the end of its life anyways but this was the final batch) Invalid Link Removed broke the teeth right off the gear. RIP

That was just a sign that your blender wasn't up to par for Gourmet Vanillas amazingness :)

This is how I felt when I tried it.

It blew my mind that vanilla may be my favourite Select flavour, especially when our other flavours are so strong lol.

Yea it caught me by suprise because everyone said breyers so I was like ok let me see then I was like oh shyt, in milk it's unreal like it's not even fair to assess it in milk no bs.

Decided to test out my ice cream making skills for the first time in over a year. So creamy, and so delicious.

Oh man that looks so delicious! RIP, I'll pour some drink out for the maker. :)

Select chefs, I want to make some vanilla ice cream. What should I put it on?

My baking skills are limited and normally I would go for pancakes but I thought I might be missing a trick.

You could use your pancake recipe, but make waffles instead, to add a little more texture/crunch. Assuming you have a waffle maker ha.

Edit: waffle ice cream sandwich

1 scoop whey + 1 cup milk toss in the ice cream maker. I know someone sent you one correct?
Put between two Snickerdoodle cookies
Put on top of pancakes
Make a banana split with vanilla ice cream
