Next PES Insider Deal???

Yeah, I'm not gonna argue with you. You don't get it (or don't want to get it), so can we just get over it? I like espresso, many people don't.

I think we may have legit run out lol.
So many orders, and some have to be kept stocked for those who are ordering sample packs online.

If there's anything you still need to try out I can see what I can do
Sample packs would only cost me a stamp to send in Canada

Hope you enjoy everything you grabbed here!

Why would anyone want to remove? Isn't the entire purpose of a coffee replacement/coffee flavored drink (as these have been described) to... taste like coffee...?

Would you buy a vanilla, add chocolate and say "this is a great chocolate flavor!"? Seems illogical to me...

With all due respect, that isn't even close to a fair comparison and you should know this.

Chocolate and vanilla are two completely separate flavours. Adding chocolate to a vanilla flavour to make a great chocolate flavour is a ridiculous comparison.

Select Cafe flavours are a blend of flavours e.g. coffee and caramel.

A flavour can be well done (tasty) yet someone can prefer the coffee flavour itself to be intensified. It isn't changing the flavour completely like going from vanilla to chocolate, it is simply changing the ratios of the blend of flavours already within it, more coffee in comparison to caramel.

A better comparison is something like our white chocolate mint flavour Select where some people would maybe prefer mint to be the more prominent flavour and some people would prefer chocolate to be more prominent.

For me, the blend of flavours is perfect. Of course some people may prefer coffee to be the stronger flavour and some may prefer vanilla or caramel to be stronger. That is an inevitability of the flavouring game. :)

Good point, but I like strong coffee flavor. Easier for me to add than it would be for others to remove. Can't we all just get along?

Don't worry, your post makes perfect sense.

If someone wants a stronger coffee flavour (or higher caffeine content) it is easy to add coffee to an existing product whereas if coffee has an overpowering taste within any of the Select Cafe series, this is much more difficult to overcome.

I knew exactly what you meant when I read it.

Sometimes people just like nitpicking lol. :)

It's coffee with protein, not protein with caffeine.

To be made like you're making coffee, not using a shaker.

30$ a month, at full/retail price, say 40$ a month. I find that FAR from expensive.

Again, we market this to replace coffee. So again, far less expensive than coffee, even at a gas station.

To each their own though.

Yes, we do market it to replace coffee.

If you replace high calorie equivalents from coffee shops you will likely save money, decrease sugar and fat consumption and increase protein consumption.

With all due respect, that isn't even close to a fair comparison and you should know this.

All I'm trying to say is it can't be considered a "coffee replacement" if you have to add coffee... Your entire slogan is "Ditch your coffee!". As that is the intention, having to add coffee to get the desired effect is a miss. There's no two ways around it.

If the slogan was "ditch your supplementary caffeine source" or "improve your morning macros", or heck even "replace those sugary morning drinks" then you nailed it, flavor wouldn't matter. But when you call out a specific product and flavor, that's the expectation. Maybe I'm just crazy, but to me, replacing coffee means replacing not just the effect, but the taste.

I'll step out of this cafe series conversation from here out (I will review the flavors - not the caff or anything, strictly flavor- though at some point), but I've gotta say, I'm disappointed at how defensive you guys have been in relation to this product and many of the other recent reformulations... Repeatedly arguing with anyone who seems to question any aspect of it... I miss the old days when we as the consumers (and yes, I bought some to try), could actually have an opinion and not be attacked for expressing it or questioning things. The discussion around the science and facts relative to PES products was one of the highlights of PES and its reps and I feel like you guys have lost touch in that regard as of late. This is truly only my opinion, but i think there's some others that would agree with me.

These order pics are giving me a weird boner.

If I'm reading this right Boone man you are complaining about someone saying they had to add coffee because they prefer a "strong" coffee flavor. No where in the add did we say this product would have a strong coffee flavor. If we limit this product to people who prefer just a coffee taste then we ruin it for the rest and vice versa. Just my 2 cents.

LOL at that gif! booneman77 ... Bro I understand you, I still didn't receive them and I do expect a strong coffee flavor in them. SFreed didn't mention which of the 3 he used. Some said the Macchiato lacks coffee flavor.

I do agree that PES recently advertise not precisely the way the product is... Specially the new alphamine ( they said it is thermogenic at a facebook post).

But I don't see any rep here attacking you !. The reps also do not own the company, I guess we are all here at AM throwing suggestions like we are talking to the owners and decision makers, but unfortunately I guess we are not...

By the way, I will still buy the cafe series even If I had to add coffee... the coffee strength is a personal matter. And I am sure you wouldn't be able to get the "Cafe select + coffee" flavor from any other product. ( maybe from Starbucks)

:D

Edit: Have anyone used Death Wish Coffee once ? How is it ? PM me :D

Not owners or product designers at all. I for one do take our reviewers and long time pes fans to heart and pass all thoughts on. I want people to give honest reviews and wouldn't want anyone changing what they experience to make us look perfect on paper. I certainly don't expect any other rep to feel a different way about it either. To immediately come in with a seemingly obvious bias to the products doesn't sit well with me either though.

I guess I should have worded my earlier post differently. I was indeed referring to macros and my thoughts regarding the new product as a replacement for a typical high calorie coffee drink. If you like a Vanilla Frappuccino from Starbucks, you'll enjoy the Cafe Series Vanilla Frappe. However, if you're like me and order your drink with two extra shots of espresso, you'll need to add espresso to it (which is exactly what I do at Starbucks) for it to be what you like. I did try adding it to hot coffee this morning, and no bueno. It reacts the same as adding any other protein to hot liquid and i ended up with a very thick layer sitting on top.

I understand that there have been some new releases by PES that have met with confusion on the part of us consumers (Alphamine???), but that doesn't mean that everything they do is now suspect. Is the new Cafe Series for everybody? Of course not. If you don't like it, don't buy it. If you think that coffee is too expensive of a luxury, then spend your money on something else. But don't belittle those of us that are OK with recognizing when a company has provided something that we enjoy, because you just come off sounding like a dick.

I was typing out a long post explaining this but then you clarified it well. :)

If you normally add shots of espresso to a caramel macchiato to amplify the coffee taste, you will need to do the same with our caramel macchiato, of course.

We intend for these drinks to taste like their counterparts, obviously. We want caramel macchiato to taste like an actual caramel macchiato. Some people will inevitably prefer a stronger coffee flavour and some people will inevitably prefer a weaker coffee flavour. It is just how flavouring goes. However, based on all the feedback I have seen where people compared it to these drinks, we are confident that we have nailed the flavour on these.

I understood exactly why you said the flavour was well done yet you wanted to add more coffee for your own taste buds. I didn't like that you were sharing your thoughts as a customer and your thought process was being described as "illogical" when I understood exactly what you meant so I pointed out why his analogy was unfair.

For the record on recent releases, we are always happy to discuss our products objectively but it is worth noting that a discussion goes back and forth. For example, if someone says "this new product is s**t" of course we will defend it. On the other hand I have had customers email me saying they didn't like the new Alphamine and wanted to know why we did it. When I explained why we did it and the pros and cons of both they said they hadn't factored in everything we had and agreed that it was a sensible move to make. This has also been said by retailers and even reps for other companies all via private message or email who genuinely wanted to chat about the new products objectively. Compare this to someone repeatedly multi quoting inconsistencies with the language of whether Select Cafe should be mixed in a shaker or not and the objectivity of the conversation obviously won't be the same lol.

If people want objective discussions, they also have to bring objectivity to it. :)

The number of people loving cafe series I've seen far outnumbers the minimal "complaints" here, no need to continue any argument (was it even an argument?)

The coffee taste being slight is ideal here, you can always add more but never remove it.
Feedback on these was provided by loggers before and during the sale, which did comment on the lightness of pure "coffee taste"

We all know that a product has to be designed to suit the largest group of our customer base we can and we succeeded here.

Anyways, ❤️ you guys

Thank you for the support from everyone who purchased.

If you didn't, I assume sample packs will be an eventuality here and I will help out anyone looking to try

In other news I'm right smack dab in the middle of a tornado cell so I may not see my wonderful mornings blessed with cafe goodness. :/

Yes, we market it as a coffee replacement. Have you ever had one of these fancy flavor coffee drinks from Starbucks or any other coffee shop? For the most part, none of them actually have a strong coffee flavor at all, unless you add additional espresso or darker coffee. Similar to what we did with Select Cafe Series. These are mostly to replace those more expensive popular flavorful type coffee drinks, no so much a black coffee where of course it's going to taste like straight coffee flavor.

Severe weather is pretty much gone here. Tornado touchdowns died out about 10 miles west of me. I will live to taste that wonderful cafe treat after all. :)

Yeah, I remember you were pretty close. I'm Roscoe area now.

Friday night was bad, we lost some shrubs from wind.

Spent about 15 years south of you in the Lasalle Peru area. Currently on the western side mid-state Quincy area.

618 (near stl) checking in here lol. Although more often than not I'm over in Missouri for school (Mizzou) it's just hot and humid here.

I spent a couple of years in St Peters recently. I actually liked being in the St Louis area.

Just going to add my review to the mix. Picked up all 3 flavors, have only tried mocha so far. Mixed 1 scoop in unsweetened vanilla almond milk. As others have mentioned, it is a very light coffee flavor. More a chocolate protein with a coffee aftertaste. Not sure that this would ever replace coffee for me (had my morning cup right after), but overall decent flavor. Also, these are 20 serving 1.25 lb tubs for those unaware. Interesting too that it's added caffeine. I thought it would've been from coffee ground into the protein powder.

Can a rep mention how much caffeine is in a serving? May have been mentioned, but i missed if so.

sareea I have had Odinforce Deathwish. Good stuff.

WIU alum checking in ;)
Southern Indiana here. Tornado better think twice about snatching up my AbE and Alphamine
South enough that you fall into "Kentuckiana"?

A UK retailer bought some stock on the insider sale just so they could try it (purchased before any EU distributors even have it).

One of the girls of the company actually messaged me last night to say she purchased some of the limited stock for herself just because it was so good lol.

Here is her Instagram review;

These are what I was waiting for. Need to see some reviews. Was sorry I didn't buy during insider sale, but most coffee proteins fail and got stuck with two containers in the past.

I just got home, the box reached the nearest post and my family forgot to take it :(
So that how I will wait another day lol

Am I going to have to wait any more longer? Still haven't received my tracking info.

If you or anyone else never receive a tracking number in the future, just shoot me a PM or email and I will be more than happy to get it taken care of.

My girlfriend did this to me once.

I did the only logical thing, I dumped her and found myself a new one.

I wish that was the secret, I do a pile of dishes 2-3x a day lol
Baking problems

Got my order today! 2 days earlier than projected by tracking :)
I'll be trying at least one of them tomorrow in order to get my sleepy ass to work by 6am and then I'll probably try another one to stay awake in my morning classes

Initial thoughts on the Vanilla Frappe - awesome! I started off with 4oz whole milk and 4oz water, and it was too thick for my liking. I added 4 ice cubes and shook it around and waited to drink it until the ice was mostly melted. This made it pretty much perfect for me. I think this flavor would probably be pretty tasty blended as well.
I think I'm going to try the iced mocha blended after work today, before I head to class!

I had iced mocha for the first time yesterday.

It has a slightly stronger coffee flavour than the vanilla frappé and caramel macchiato which are obviously vanilla and caramel heavy respectively.

I loved the flavour of it, so much so that I 'may' have ended up doing a double serving lol.

For me, vanilla frappé and caramel macchiato tie for first place with iced mocha marginally behind it. All three will be in my rotation though, not much separates them which is bloody impressive seeing that I am not a coffee fan lol. :)

Can you share how you made the shakes ? How much water etc...

Can you share how you made the shakes ? How much water etc...

I should have added that in my post. :)

So far when trying all flavours I have followed the instructions for iced coffee, made it in a shaker and poured it into a glass with ice.

I haven't tried it hot yet. We are having an uncharacteristically hot spell in England, hence the staged Instagram product photo. :)
