Governor of KS has issued a state of emergency for entire state because of the snow. Lmao! I can just hear some people from places that get a lot of snow saying it's no big deal! My boss is out of state so I told the guys to just stay home & snuggle with their wife. I took my own advice too!

I go home to Wyoming and Montana to hunt.

And out here we don't cheat when we count our points. An 8 point has 8 points each side, not totaled up. Cheat'n bastards.

That would be an 8×8 but if it has 3 on one side and 7 on the other it'd be a 3×7. I've never heard of the system you use. How is being able to add and use math cheat'n?

East of the Mississippi type folks all try and over come their shortcomings and make up for the fact their bucks are not as good as ours by inflating their numbers. I mean an 8 point buck just sounds more impressive right? Really it's just a 4 point buck, but they totaled up both sides.

Easter count = add all up
Western count = add up one side

You can look it up. It really happens. In MT and WY we only count up one side and go with that number. If it has one side that say has one more point we go with the greater size. Unless, there is a great differance like say one side had 6 and one has only 1 for some crazy reason. Though a lot of people from both areas do just say 4x4 etc to eliminate confusion for this reason. I guess it's just one of those reasons. Not sure how or why it came about that way. I imagine it really may have to do with general size difference between the two regions as the east doesn't average the same size racks as the west, on average. That in all likely hood prolly stems from population density. Another big difference between hunting the two ares is tree stands and blinds are quite common in the east, bout out west we more often than not hunt open ground.
 
Lol that's crazy man (the whole thing) We grow dome big bucks around here but we just add all the points. I was amazed at the amount of open ground when I went out west last year!

Oh, I'm sure you guys do. I wasn't trying to say east coast have small deer. Hell, it can even vary greatly within the same state. I was just refering to rack size in general. Example of varience would be coastal oregon compared to easter oregon. They can have 200-300 lbs difference in what is considered big.

Yeah, hunting open ground is definetly different. We may hike, drive, ride for miles tracking/hunting. Wind direction and line of sight become very inportant caus they can catch on to ya and bug out before you even get close enough to take aim.

I haven't actually hunted myself out east, just know folks. All my hunting has been in MT, WY, TX, and AK.
 
Bobby hunts as well. He killed a moose with one uppercut.

Yeah but keep in mind it was one of Ben's speedos that Ben had blessed before giving it to Bobby. Not at all trying to take away from Bobby's accomplishment, I'm just saying.

Not sure. Yesterday morning it was at 14 and still snowing. The more we got the more it just packed itself down. It wasn't a "heavy" snow, it was more just powder. Melting pretty good today too. Gonna be a sloppy mess!

We got about 2 inches and then rain. Made it real nasty for driving. It's all good now though.
 
I guess we're gonna get more snow tomorrow. Anywhere from 8-24" depending on who you listen to. That should just really make the roof on our shop collapse!

A beautiful week ahead for SOCAL, we will be into the mid-70s :) Perfect weather for some outdoor training, either a long bike ride or maybe a 3-5 mile run.

I said it was nice weather for those activities . . . . doesn't mean I'm gonna get out there ;)

Right now I am doing some Spring Cleaning, tore apart the kitchen and cleaned out cabinets and reorganized everything. I think the nice sunlight coming into the house puts me in that mood to clean . . . .wait, what?!?!?!
