Napalms sponsored iForce Intimidate log

If this thing IS almost as good as some mild PH's then you could be experiencing some minor recomp. Perhaps the extra test could also be contributing to better glycogen uptake. Aside from that, it could be that you had lower test and your body will just "naturally" lean up due to the favorable swing to muscle retention via hormone optimization that DAA brings. The burning fat/building muscle theory is really based off of really high level people. Whose either at genetic max or past it. If you are still "within limits" then you could definitely be recomping (gaining muscle while losing fat) now. Use the mirror and just pinch yourself around the hip bone to see how much fat you get. If it's going up with the weight then we might have to look at diet changes.

interesting, i've never had my test levels checked to be honest. would have been cool to have had my levels check prior to starting. if i were to guess, i'd prolly say average test levels, i've been able to put on about 13 pounds since my surgery just by being able to squat again. about a year and a half ago i weighed about 190, then got down to about 175 when i wasn't able to train, now i'm on my way back up again. i think i'll know more by next week. diets been pretty good

if it was already mentioned my bad....but what kind of surgery did you have?

i just recently had a brostrom repair on my left ankle back in sept....just been able to get back into the gym the past month or so, being out of the gym for any extended period of time like that can be a bitch..................but muscle memory is a great thing :D

sorry for no update in a couple days, wife's father isn't doing good and it kind of tossed everything upside down around here. i've managed to keep the diet in check, the usual rice and chicken. avg'd a little more than 2500 cals/day with macros at 39/30/31'ish. i do think i've started a little recomp here. while i harbor no idea's about a six pack, the abs feel pretty solid all the way around - with a little less fat over them. i think this has as much to do with the hanging leg lifts i've been doing, as well as the cleaner diet and the intimidate. the last couple nights sleep has sucked, but we've been on the phone throughout the night the last couple days. we'll see.

managed to slide off to the gym saturday and deadlifted for about 45 minutes. i managed to squeeze off 4 w 325 - that's up from 3x325 last week.

today was squats and good mornings

95x5
135x5x2
160x5x2

work sets:
185x5
210x5
230x5

good mornings - i'll post a vid of these next week. i really think doing these is starting to pay off. my squat and deadlift are on an upward trend.
145x5x4

hanging leg lifts
5 sets of 12

i'm now almost two weeks into this, so i'm prolly just starting to get the full effect of the intimidate. so far, i think i've leaned out a tad, i won't venture to guess how much. my training hasn't changed, i'm hitting pre-determined weight/sets/reps goals on schedule - with the exception of the 315 miss last week. the two lifts i've missed over the last couple months i got greedy, and wasn't prolly ready for the weight. still the same aches and pains. i haven't weighed myself, but i'm gonna guess i'm still at about 188. i'm pretty happy with the product so far, it has helped my sleep in that i'm not waking up in the middle of the night like i was previously. there's no doubt about that. it's kind of tough for my to pin any strength gains on the product because it's not as if i've had any sudden, measurable increases in strength. that said, i wasn't expecting any. i didn't come in thinking i'd go from 285x2 to 285x10 in a month's time.

so far i think the product, in combo with a cleaner diet, has put a couple of lean pounds on me over the last 10 or so days. the layer of fat around my abs is definitely a little thinner - without doing any cardio. i wasn't expecting to gain any weight eating ~2500 cals per day, but, i have. this could of course be variance, but i don't think so.

i really wish i would have gotten my test levels checked prior to starting...

Nice log, man! I'll try to get caught up in here ASAP!

one month until the meet. benched today:

95x6x2
115x6x2
135x6

work sets

150x3x2
165x3x2
175x3

i'm gonna do triples for the next 3 weeks, then basically deload the week of the meet. bench felt pretty good today, triples are a pretty good gauge of where i am. i'd guestimate 210-215 right now. not bad, the right shoulder is acting up though. left feels pretty good. i if i can get to a good triple of 195 the week after next, i'll go for 225.

pulls ups - neutral grip

5 sets of 7, these felt pretty good. i think i've learned the timing for the max/hemavol combo: for me, i start drinking it an hour before.

hanging leg raises: 5 sets of 12

got a good night's sleep last night for the first time in like 4 days. wife's father is doing a little better - he's a tough old bastard.

diet was pretty solid today: tuna, chicken, rice, protein shakes, creatine and later on the intimidate. i haven't eaten dinner yet but the cals will be 2460 with macros of 41/31/28.

2 week weigh in is in the morning

do you mind explaining what "Triples" are to me???

I think I have a good idea what it refers to but I just want to be certain.

Sets of 3 reps. :D

Triples, doubles, and singles. Weight lifting/power lifting talk. Working on intensity instead of volume.

k... thats what I thought, but just wanted to be sure, thanks matt

i realized when i woke up today the 2 week weigh in is tomorrow, not today.

ohp's

bar x 8 x 2

55x6x2
65x6x2

work sets

85x5
95x5
105x5

sorry, but i suck at these. i do them strict with no leg drive, but i suck. i started doing them this past sept. :embarrased: they were one of the first things i starting doing after rehab. my right shoulder really doesn't like em these days.

hammer strength back extension machine

i don't even remember the weight, i just started in the middle and did 5 sets of 8

pull ups - the elbows at 45 degrees grip

5 sets of 6 - these were harder than the neutral grip yesterday.

more hanging leg lifts

5 sets of 15 - an increase over the 5 sets of 12 i was doing last week

thoughts...muscles are feeling a bit fuller the last couple days, and i'm now convinced i'm a little leaner. tomorrows weigh in will be interesting. i feel at least the 188 i was last week. i'm now almost at the end of a 3 month run getting ready for the meet next month. i've diverted from my original template going to triples for the last few week run up instead of sets of 5. i have increased the intensity - before my last deload week, i was at work sets at 70%/80%/90% and i plan on going for triples the next 2 weeks of 75%/85%/ and a single of 95%.

so to recap, a couple pounds heavier and a little leaner the first 2 weeks. weigh in tomorrow

sorry for no updates the last few days, between xmas/xmas eve with the family and mrs napalm's dad in the hospital i just haven't had time.

weight is currently at 189 - which is 3 lbs more than when i started. even the wife is now saying that i've leaned out. she gave me the pinch test the other day and thinks there is less of me around the middle. i kept the diet in check over the weekend, no gorging on holiday meals. i just gave myself palm sized portions. muscles definitely are fuller, i notice it most in the traps and erectors. one weird thing is that my waist is about 1/2 inch bigger than when i started. this can only be a result of the goodmornings, deadlifts, squats and hanging leg raises. i think my abs and erectors are getting thicker. mrs napalm says my ass is bigger too.

sleep has been great, mood and focus have been good as well. still having vivid dreams and waking up with wood. libido has been the same.

today was squats:

warmup - bar x 10, 95x8x2, 135x6x2

work sets:

185x3x2 - first squat with the new belt on ripped the ass out right out of my gym pants - i just went about my business :)

225x3x2

240x3x2

goodmornings:

150x5x4

ok, the bottom line here is i've added some muscle and lost some fat. 3 lbs in 3 weeks while averaging about 2500 cals per day. i had been hanging around 186 for about a month prior to starting the intimidate. the intensity of my training has increased during the beta test, but this alone cannot explain 3 lbs in 3 weeks while at 2500 cals/day.

i'm liking the product...

No issues bro, holidays are holidays regardless, enjoy yourself; hell I haven't even logged on here since Friday! Hoping the best for your dad!

Yesterday was bench:

Warmup bar x 10 x 2
95x8x2
115x8x2

Work sets
165x3x2
175x3x2
185x3x2 - this I'm very happy with

Tried some v bar pushdowns and the tweaked tricep let me know it was still there immediately, so I stopped. It didn't bother me at all benching so I don't care, I'll just keep resting it.

Went through my diet log for the last few days and I'm proud to say that I'm still at 2500 give or take 100 or so. Macros have been 38/31/29.

Dead lifts later today - I'm not going to use straps for my work sets today, it's time I gave my right ring finger a test. I might have a vid of 340 without the straps. If it goes up good - which I have no reason to believe it won't, I think I may have 365-370 in me firths meet.

really good deadlift day, here's 340 w no straps. it was like butter

Invalid Link Removed

i really think i have 380, maybe even 400 in me. the goodmornings are paying off. the finger held up just fine.

if my calcs are correct, i'll come real close to 900 total. the big question is gonna be my squat. my bench and deadlift i know what i'm working with.

i'm gonna f'ck the diet up today and tomorrow, for the first time since i started the intimidate, I'M GONNA GET DRUNK.

i'm really liking the product

carry on...

yesterday was squats

95x5
115x5
135x5x2
185x5x2
235x3
255x1x2
270x1x2

good mornings
155x5x4 - increase in weight and extra set

i've squatted with the new belt twice now, and i'm having trouble getting used to it. it's nowhere near broken in and i roll it up and fold it every night. i think i'm having trouble getting to depth with it. i did the singles at 255 and 270 with and without the belt. the video is inconclusive. i may not even wear it at the meet if it still feels like this. no big deal, i've gotten to here without one. the singles at 270 felt great - if i'm hitting depth. i'm having a buddy of mine who competes come out and take a look. if i am hitting bottom, i may have 300-305. if i'm not hitting bottom, maybe 285. i don't know.

today was bench

95x5x2
115x5x2
135x5x2
150x3
185x3
195x1
200x1

pull ups - 5 sets of 7 - an increase of one set

bench felt pretty good, left side doing all the work. strict pause on the chest, said 'PRESS' to myself and went up. 220-225 is a possibility. probably open with 185 just to get the first one in, 205 for the second and 220-225 for the third.

i am getting full effect of the product. feeling great, sleeping great and feeling good training. extra reps and sets compared to about a month ago. feeling pretty good being 2 weeks out. the game plan is coming together, what i did today and yesterday i calculate to be about 85%, def still some left in the tank. squat depth is a concern..for now.

weigh in tomorrow...

awaiting to see the weight gain :)
im excited that everyone is sleeping so damn well on this stuff

phat training is layne nortons plan its essentially a power day for each bodypart, broken into i believe 3 days and then a volume day with some speed work on the other 3 days.

It is composed of 2 power days then a rest day and 3 hypertrophy/speed days. Here is a link:

ah forgot its upperbody power/lower bodypower and then a push pul legs split for the other 3 days. its a toughy on the CNS but does work damn great! I could never get enough sleep to pull it off, or to get it to fit with my schedule though

I just completed my first week of PHAT training and love it. Can't wait to see what 12 weeks brings!

Ya I am glad you told me about it. Today will be the end of week 1 for me, but I still havent done the upper body power day yet. It is definitely rough on the body and CNS. Suggest taking it easy a bit to start and add more in as your body gets used to it. I think I will definitely take the advice on the deloads haha.

final review:

diet: final weight was 189, an increase of 3 pounds - unreal. this on an average over 30 days of 2510 calories with macros of 39/30/31. these numbers are from myfitnesspal with every, and i mean every meal logged. i didn't take any cheats except i got drunk on the 30th and 31st. i'd like to think at least a couple pounds of the 3lb gain is muscle. i don't know if i overestimated my bmr at the beginning, i am an old geezer and may not need the calories i used to. if so, there was prolly a little caloric excess. i have leaned out a little - there's no doubting that, and that's where i think the intimidate came in. i only changed 2 variables: cleaned up my diet and added the intimidate. cleaning up the diet doesn't fully explain a 3lb gain in a month.

training: volume and intensity has picked up since the start of the intimidate, but this was preplanned and was going to happen anyway. i hit all scheduled rep and weight goals. i'm now in my 4th cycle of 5/3/1 and with the exception of my r shoulder, everything feels pretty good, a little beat up though. that's to be expected 11 days out from a meet. i do think the intimidate helped endurance wise - i added sets and reps to a few of my assistance exercises such as good mornings and pull ups, with no effect on my big movements.

sleep: this is where the intimidate had the most effect. i slept freakin fantastic the whole month. i mean sleep though the night without waking up - a problem i've had for a long time. weird vivid dreams that i woke and said wtf? better quality sleep = better recovery. that's pretty important to me and i recommend the intimidate for this reason alone.

daily motivation levels: i'd have to say looking back over the last month i've been pretty level headed, not moody or anything. i was sleeping better and woke up ready to go. i had plenty of opportunity over the last month to stress out over a number of things, but didn't.

libido: not much noticed here, i get it plenty...

i'll give the intimidate a final rating of 9/10. the only reason i can't give it a 10 is really not the products fault: i have no evidence that my test levels were increased because i wasn't tested prior to the intimidate. my fault, and what's stupid is my insurance would have paid for it. i just didn't think of it before starting. what i do have is anecdotal evidence: a three pound gain - when i was hoping to cut a little in 30 days. that's just crazy. it's going to be very interesting to see if i lose this 3 pounds over the next couple weeks. i'm going to continue keeping my calories and macros where they're at now.

as i said, i'd recommend the product for the sleep and recovery benefits alone and am looking forward to when it comes out.

thanks to the guys at iForce for giving me the opportunity to log this product, good luck.

Jezz bro! We didn't say you had to write a book!!! :p haha jk. Thanks for the very detailed review! props to you! You did a great job, and proved yourself to be a solid and valued logger!

Thanks guys, I said at the beginning I was going to call it right down the middle. If I thought the product was snake oil, I would have said so.

Please keep me in mind for future logging opportunities.
