MidwestBeast's APS Testalensis 100 Log (Sponsored)

a lot of people get sides at 100, 75 seems to be the sweet spot. i would at least try it 1st.

Thanks for the advice, man. I'm hoping I can also get into an endo fairly soon. The only one in town wouldn't be able to get me in until June 20th, so I've got a list of all the ones in my network within 50 miles or so that I'll start calling Monday morning.

no problem, they put my mom on levothyroxine awhile back-so i did a bunch of research on the thyroid and thyroid meds.

go really slow on increasing doses, like i said above 75 is the area where most of the reported problems occured. stay at or below 75 and you should be ok!

good luck, i hope everything works out for you.

I was suspecting more and more that that's what I had, so I was doing quite a bit of research, myself. After they diagnosed me, I did as much research on T4 as I could. The doctor didn't tell me squat; so if I didn't research on my own, I wouldn't have known to stop eating grape fruits (particularly in the morning). The directions (as well as everything I've read) say 2 hours after food or 30 minutes before; but every single person I've talked to who takes it says at least an hour before food.

I think patients need to take some level of responsibility in their own lives, but at the same time, I think the doctor needs to provide more information than just "take this."

4/10/11 - Back (Max-OT Week)

Deads: 510x5 / 510x5 / 510x3
Reverse Grip Lat Pulldowns: 250x8 / 250x12
Smith Machine Bent-over Rows: 340x6 / 340x6 / 270x10

Total Workout Time: 27 minutes

That's a new PR on deadlifts for me, after my most recent PR was 2 weeks ago. Once again, it was my grip that kept me from getting more reps.

For lack of any other way to say it...you are a strong SOB!

Haha, thanks, man! The words mean a lot. And it helps to find some comfort in things like that when I can't lose a pound to save my life at the moment lol...

Ever try Versa grips for deads?

Ever try Versa grips for deads?

Thanks, man.

Can't say that I have. I need something, though lol. As soon as I get some straps, I'm sure my deads and shrugs will both go up pretty substantially :cool2:

Update:

Just got off the phone with an endo's office that's 45 minutes away - they've got me in next Wednesday :). It sure will be better than waiting til the end of June to actually get some answers. I just don't want to be patient anymore since I did that for the last few years, getting my nutrition and everything else in check, assuming that's where I needed to fix the problem, only to find out that it goes deeper.

So, I'm pretty happy about that. Please pray that I'll find some answers and be able to find a solution to this. Thank you :)

Great news!

Prayer sent brotha!

Thank you. It means a lot.

I spent some time praying before bed last night about it and a lot of other things; it's an area I've truly been lacking in for a very long time. Unfortunately, I didn't stay up and pray as long as I should have because the sound of the rain knocked me out pretty quick, haha. It was nice, though, it's still raining off and on, now, and we've had almost 24 hours of consistent, hard rain. I actually love it. It's some of the best sleep and rest I ever get.

Yesterday was an off day for me and tonight I'll punish the old bis and tris, which are shaping up really nicely as of late, which is great :)

Rain is the best weather for sleeping! Keeps me knocked out for some reason. Praying you get the solutions you're seeking at the doc bro.

Thank you. And I agree. I actually woke up a couple times because I had a small fan on me, just because the upstairs gets a bit warmer during the day with the windows closed. So I'd get a bit chilly (which was welcomed, because I'd just pull another blanket up) and on top of that, the wind would shift direction and I'd have to get up and shut one of the windows lol. It was great, though. I had some crazy dreams and woke up in the middle of the night at one point where I felt like I'd been asleep for 10 hours.

4/12/11 - Biceps / Triceps (High Intensity Week)

Olympic Bar Curls: 105x12 (x4)
DB Hammer Curls (Preacher Bench): 35's x 12 (x4)
Cable Ring Curls (High Puley): 80x12 (x4)

Tricep Rope Pushdowns: 180x12 (x4)
Overhead Tri Rope Extension / Roll: 110x12 (x4)
45 Degree Reverse Cable Ring Curls: 80x12 (x4)

Total Workout Time: 39 minutes

Numbers up across the board on all lifts from my last session. Kept the same weight on BB Curls, but got 12 reps instead of 10 on my final set (last time was the first jump to 105 from 100). Cable ring curls up 10lbs on each side on all sets from last time; up 10 on all tricep exercises.

My arms were just crazy swollen today. I love arm days now. I'm starting to get the double peak on my biceps, which is awesome.

Downed 40g isolate + 5g creatine monohydrate in some skim milk as soon as I was done, hit the tanning bed for 20, went home, ate a slice of pizza, mixed up a new drink (10g BCAA + 4 scoops Purple In-Train) and went to go play an hour and a half of basketball over at the church.

It was the first time playing over there that I didn't feel like puking from exhaustion. I tore up the first game, too. It was nice, because it was much more like how I used to play back in college - I've missed that. Played 4 or 5 games and was very satisfied with everything. The biggest problem I had was my lower back seizing up on me. Even though my arms were as swollen as they were, my shot was on the money today lol. I hit a game-winning tray in the first game and was hitting my turn-around fadeaways (goin Kobe on 'em) and even some runners in the lane - it was great.

I feel DEAD right now lol. I haven't been this exhausted in a while.

Tomorrow will be legs and abs.

4/13/11 - Legs / Abs (High Intensity Week)

Leg Press: 510x12 (x4)
Seated Calf Raises: 205x15 (x4)
Seated Leg Curls: 150x12 (x4)
Seated Calf Extensions: 255x15 (x4)
Leg Extensions: 210x12 (x4)
Hip Adductors/Abductors: 165x12 (x4 each)

Hanging Knee Raises: 3x12

Total Workout Time: 44 minutes

Numbers up on all lifts from my last high intensity week! Legs feel absolutely dead right now.

Today was my first day of mixing CL Psyko with 4:1:1 BCAAs instead of MBCAAs. Ended up with 4 scoops of bulk + 1.5 scoops Psyko. We'll see if anything can be noticed with the lack of sustamine; as the total number of aminos will be going up (16:4:4 = 24 vs. 8:1:1 = 10).

4/14/11 - Delts / Traps (High Intensity Week)

Seated DB Shoulder Presses: 65's x 12 / 65's x 12 / 65's x 12 / 75's x 12
DB Side Lateral Raises: 90's x 12 (x4)
Seated Rear Delt DB Side Lateral Raises: 90's x 12 (x4)

Olympic Bar Shrugs: 355x12 / 365x12 / 375x12 / 385x12
90 Degree Smith Machine Solo Shrugs: 160x12 (x4)

Total Workout Time: 34 minutes

Beat out numbers on almost everything from last session, again. I would have gone for more on the DB presses, but the 70's are all jacked up and missing rubber, so I have to jump from 65's to 75's - only did it for my last set since the last 2 times I've done the presses, I feel a bit weak.

Went up from 85's on my DB side laterals to 90's (and they felt easy :firedevil: ). I did go down from 95's to 90's on my seated rear delt raises, because last time I was noticing the form wasn't as strict as I'd like it.

Had to do shrugs on the Smith last time because the cage was taken - hit 340x12 twice, 350x12 twice...Really surprised that today my weight shot way up; again, almost too easy! And numbers up all across the board on the solo shrugs on the smith!

Tomorrow is off!

4/16/11 - Chest / Abs (High Intensity week)

Cable Flys (low pulley): 110x12 / 100x12 / 100x12 / 100x12
Cable Flys (high pulley): 110x12 (x4)
Solo Cable Fly Stretch (mid pulley): 90x12 / 90x12 / 80x12 / 80x12
Incline DB Bench: 65's x 12 (x4)

Cable Crunches: 220x12 (x4)

Total Workout Time: 33 minutes

Only went up on the first set of the low pulley flys because last week I struggled on the last set @ 100. Went up by 10 on all of my high pulley (traditional) flys. Went up by 10 on the first 2 of my stretch flys (really works on the inner chest). Went up by 5 on my DB's on all my incline presses and wasn't fatigued at the end; good sign. Went up by 10 on my cable crunches.

Another great workout:)

Consistent gains, my friend. I just can't wait til the doc hopefully helps me figure out what we can do so I can start cutting lol. I'm so tired of not getting to (especially since it's pool season right around the corner and I love not wearing more than a pair of shorts as much as possible :cool2: ).

^^LOL Who doesn't? :D

Haha no doubt, man. But I seriously hate clothes lol. I'm a beach bum at heart and would love to 100% of the time be only wearing a pair of athletic shorts or board shorts and flops if any shoes at all :cool2:

4/17/11 - Back (High Intensity Week)

Lat Pulldowns: 190x12 (x4)
Smith Machine Bent-over Rows: 200x12 (x4)
Seated Rows (D-ring): 210x12 (x4)
Straight Bar Pushdowns: 130x12 (x4)

Total Workout Time: 25 minutes

I did a few goodmornings just to stretch out at the end, too. I really need to incorporate those as well as lower back extensions back into my workouts - I've been slacking, there.

Weight went up by 10 on all 3 of my first lifts for all 4 sets
; only kept the pushdowns the same because last time I felt like I wasn't feeling it in my lats enough and I wanted to ensure that I was really stretching my back out on it.

Today was my last day of my Purple Psyko - only had about a scoop left, maybe a little less, so I mixed it in w/ my bulk aminos and added a scoop of Purple Wraath, as well. I enjoy Psyko very much and it's something I think is great for mixing with bulk aminos or using pre-cardio (I just like more BCAAs in my workouts, so I wouldn't use it alone). I have 5 days left on Testalensis as well.

Tomorrow is off and Tuesday will be arms and likely another hour or so of basketball following it.

Haha. You and me could definitely hang. I'm a total beach bum. If I could I would live on the beach selling french fries and care less. When I was younger I used to head to the beach with 2 tshirts rolled up in a pair of pants and the shorts I had on. I never even took shoes with me. LOL

Haha I'd love to hang with you, bro. I've been in the midwest my whole life, but I thrive whenever I'm in FL or NC (only been out to CA once when I was really young). I'm going in about a month to Hawaii to see my best friend and I'll be out there for about 2 weeks - stoked about that (just wish I was leaner lol).

You seem to be getting some nice strength gains, do you feel the effects from Testalensis starting to kick in more?

I haven't felt the huge libido drive that I initially had, but the strength is certainly there. Still hanging a little lower than normal, though.

I'm so jealous! LOL. I grew up 3 hrs from the Atlantic coast so I'm at the beach as much as possible. We used to drive down in the middle of the night and just sleep on the beach.

Have you checked body weight/bf lately?

Seems like this is happening to a lot of the testers. Any chance this can be from a gradual lowering of estrogen .....so that at first estrogen is lowered just enough to raise test but not decrease libido....then after a while as estrogen continues to get lower and test goes up the further decrease of estrogen kills libido? (sort of like Letro)

Thoughts?

Man, I'm the jealous one! Central IL wasn't very close to the beach, haha.

I haven't measure bf% lately, and weight has stayed right around 230-235, still.

Actually saw the endo today - have some updates.

I'm unfortunately no where near smart enough to know that, but it sounds very logical to me.

This is what I've been thinking as well, with the bulbine kicking in there should be a decrease in estrogen, which could decrease the libido a bit.

4/18/11 - OFF

4/19/11 - Biceps / Triceps (Max-OT Week)

Olympic Bar Curls: 165x6 / 165x6 / 165x5

Cable Curl: 230x10

Tricep Bar Pushdowns: 285x12 (x3)
Overhead Rope Extension / Roll: 210x6 / 210x7
BW Dips (slow): 1x15

Total Workout Time: 41 minutes

1 hour of basketball after

Reps up on all Bicep lifts. Reps up on tri bar pushdowns and dips. Weight up on rope extension/rolls.

4/20/11 - Legs / Abs (Max-OT Week)

Squats: 365x6 / 375x4
SL Deads: 365x6 (x2)
Leg Press: 720x6 / 770x6

Smith Machine Calf Raises: 450x10 / 460x10 / 470x10
Seated Calf Raises: 250x10 / 260x10 / 260x10

Total Workout Time: 56 minutes

Weight up on squats. My right knee started feeling pressure right in the middle of the knee cap when I'd go down, so I didn't want to risk the 3rd set (even though I wanted it). Weight up on SL deads and second set of leg press. Weight up on both calf exercises. Solid day and more strength gain.

On a side note, why is it that all of the trainers I see anymore are total d-bags? It didn't seem this way at all at the college gym, but here it's been awful. One guy was fired because he was terrible (just didn't have people skills, either). My gym owner just hired a new one a couple weeks ago and I didn't mind him at first, but I don't agree with the stuff he has people doing, he doesn't rack any weights when he, himself, lifts and his demeanor just infuriates me. Today, when I went to go do leg raises, the cage was taken and he was doing cable crunches (not even full range), and the only other bar is in the middle of the cables, but I didn't feel like waiting, so I just moved down to the other end and used the frame (not comfortable on my hands, but I actually didn't mind). Anyway, his little buddy pulls his shirt up and starts flexing his abs while I'm doing my leg raises - I locked eyes with him just enough for him to see me shake my head in disgust and hopefully hear me say "douchebag" under my breath.

I know I'm kind of old school on this, but I just HATE when people do that. I hate flexing in the mirrors and everything. I admit that I look at myself in the mirrors when I'm lifting and even when I am walking by - but I don't flex and stare at myself and I sure as hell don't pull my shirt up.

/rant :)

Sooo... aggression is still up?

:veryhappy:

Sooo... aggression is still up?

:veryhappy:

lol! It's still there, but not in general. In the gym, yes. But, most of the time it is ;)

Awesome workout, damn strong lifts!

Aggression does sound up:) lol

Thanks, bro. I'm impressed at how I haven't stalled out on strength yet and that it just seems to keep going up (it's this kind of stuff that makes me wonder what would happen if I ever did turn to AAS lol).

And aggression...yeah...lol. I seriously just loathe when people do that in the gym. Living alone doesn't help me, either. The more I'm alone and isolated, the less I'm used to being in a situation of making compromises, being around situations that I don't enjoy, necessarily, etc.

Speaking of aggression - Tuesday, i went to go move the pulley down to the low setting from the top to do my cable curls. The bar (preacher shape) was already on it from someone else and when I leaned down to pull the pin out, the bar slammed down on the back of my head! The stupid bar that goes down between the plates came all the way up and out. I was so pissed. It took everything in me not to start throwing things - no joke. I wish that place had a heavy bag so bad, because I would have ripped it off the chain and taken it to the ground and just wailed on it.

Roid rage??? :bigok:

Roid rage??? :bigok:

Haha! I love it :)

The best part about being big is always having this be the explanation when you get angry. When I play basketball, if someone cheap shots me, I get pissed off (as I assume everyone does). Well, here they come with the roid rage comments right out the gate. I shut my mouth, look at him/them and grin and say, "You're right. I caught a cheap elbow to the face and you know what, the only possible explanation for my being angry would have to be steroids. You wouldn't get mad if someone elbowed you in the face, would you?"

I just get exhausted defending myself...If only I did take steroids; they'd be in for a treat then, I'm sure lol.

Just jump on the sauce and make it a done deal.....lol

Just jump on the sauce and make it a done deal.....lol

lol well, it may happen whether I want to or not.

I saw an endo out of town yesterday and it went really well. He bumped my Synthroid (T4) dosage from 50mcg up to 112mcg. Same thing as before; have to wait 6 weeks to get bloods done and see what it's doing, but he requested another appointment at the 7 week mark to go over it (nice, since the GP didn't do that). He was a really good doctor to work with and I'm hoping things work out with this.

He acknowledged that my thyroid was underactive and I explained my story to him about being on 50mcg T4 for 10-11 weeks, now, and that it was down from 5.67 to 3.69. He said that it was still underactive, though, and as far as he's concerned "normal" is .3-3.0 (not the .4-4.5 or whatever the list shows). So that was cool. He also acknowledged my test being low, even though it's in the normal range (below the halfway mark). So, he seems like the type of guy that if the T4 adjustment doesn't do what we want, he'd get me on test. I kind of like that idea, but at the same time, I'd really rather not have to be on TRT or HRT starting at age 25.

We'll see how it all works and I'll have that one in my back pocket until then.

Seated Rear Delt DB Side Lateral Raises: 95's x 12 (x3)

Olympic Bar Shrugs: 465x6 (x4) / 315x12 (x2)
Upright Rows: 225x8 / 235x8

Total Workout Time: 49 minutes

*Actually felt how I set myself off-balance this time. I sit against the back of the bench and line my body up and make sure my shoulder blades are even / centered. On this set, I pulled them in together too tightly and it shifted my body to the left enough that my press was way off -- I've done this on bench and other presses before; this is the first time I felt the initial move before the lift that did it.

Anyway, I stripped it down to 270 and repped it out again the right way. Added in an extra set of DB side laterals since I should really be in the 6-8 rep range, but the weights aren't heavy enough. They feel better than they ever have - I'm actually strong enough now to hold a slight pause at the top with the 95's, too. Went with 465 for shrugs on all 4 sets instead of just the last set (like I did last time). Dropped down to 315 on my way to do the upright rows and repped those out twice just to feel the squeeze a little more.

Overall I was very pleased with tonight's lift. I'm looking incredibly wide as of late and as soon as I can cut my fat down, so long as I don't lose any size, I'll be thrilled to stay at this size - I just want to add some more mass to arms to even them out with the rest of my body and same with legs.

Tomorrow will be Day 25 and is an off day, so this is my last workout for this log.

I'll come up with a final review tomorrow or this weekend and for those wishing to continue following me, I have an ongoing log over on the NTBM forums as well as an upcoming Wyked/DAA-HCG sponsored log from Taurus.
