So last night I went up to the gym to hit it and had a lil fun. Ended up just being a back and biceps day. By the time I added an extra back and biceps exercise to the frey I forgot to do rear delts. I am going to hit them tonight on my Tower 200 if I don't end up saying screw it and going to the gym for legs. If i go do legs i think I will add rear delts and maybe a couple sets of shrugs. If not I will do those at home and hit legs tomorrow. Here are the higlights of the workout. I didn't track it I just went in and lifted. Kept a mental note of some things but really was just trying to get in a great workout and succeeded.
Back & Biceps
Wide Grip Lat Pull Down - Tempo 1-2-2 = 110x20, 150x15, 170x10, 190x10, 210x10, 230x8 - These felt pretty good up until the last set where my elbow/biceps tendon started hurting a bit so I stopped. I could have pulled the next two reps if I really gave it hell but the pain told me that was not a good idea. Either way my lats already had a pretty nice pump when done.
Hammer Strength MTS Dorian Rows - Tempo 1-2-2 - 45x15, 55x15, 65x12, 75x12, 85x10 - THESE FELT AMAZING! Sticking to the tempo was hard, but I was really able to contract my back so well with these. I just held the handles and closed my eyes tuned in to the muscle and initiated the move from the lats and just pulled the elbows back by contracting my back and then the 2 second squeeze just cemented the contraction into the fibers. The reason for the 1-2-2 tempo kind of steals from John Meadows theories regarding doing negatives on back movements and the arms taking over. He recommends you squeeze and hold to increase the TUT instead of doing negatives which transfer to the arms more often than not. I could definitely feel a huge difference doing these the way I was doing them. Right now if I want to keep making progress I have to use other principles besides just adding weight because my biceps tendon is unhappy and being on methyls I have not been able to run a round of ibuprofen to keep inflammation down. Good news is I am almost complete with my methyls and am on a lower dose. Once I start the Tren Devastation run I can begin to repair the liver more and then hit it with a good week of 2400mg of ibuprofen a day. Right now my urine is a little yellow so better to wait.
Straight Arm Lat Pull Down - Tempo 4-0-2 - 75x15, 90x12, 90x8, 75x11 - Man the lats were just on fire here, and this is one of the back exercises you can do negatives without worrying about the arms taking over so I took advantage of that.
Barbell Curls - Tempo 3-1-3 - 45lbs x 4 sets to failure - As you can see I really slowed the tempo down & lowered the weight dramatically to baby this right biceps tendon. The 3 second negative and concentric with a 1 second squeeze at the top was just brutal. The fire in my biceps was rough, I just closed my eyes and went about trying to keep doing reps through the burn. My first set was in the 20's and reps went down until getting about 8 on the last set. Like I said I wasn't really counting these so much as putting in the work and trying to have as intense of a mind muscle connection as possible.
DB Supinating Curls - Tempo - 3-1-1 - 30 lbs x3 sets to failure - again I did not count these so much as just do the work. Seems like the first sets was around 12 and the last set was about 7-8 but the last set was pretty much normal tempo because I couldn't budge it going slow.
I went home for dinner and had some kind of shepards pie type thing with lean ground turkey, fat free brown gravy, rice, and veggies + a protein shake and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
