Well unfortunately they jumped the gun and didn't have approval and cancelled, so I am now waiting to hear about an approval. Frustrating, but it is what it is.
Had some good training over the weekend. I was able to get both my chest and lats a little sore. Just basic sessions broken down into pull, and push options.
My MIL is now in town, so I am trying to see if I can get off. I forgot that my wife was no longer able to take a week off due to changing jobs and not having PTO yet. So, now I am requesting to be able to take tme off while she is here.
Training seems to be going well, and lower volume, higher intensity seems to allow me to get the job done before my trouble areas lose stability due to fatigue.

my wife's family are in town visiting next door for the week and my response was a bit different than yours. Since we put that fence up I told my wife "you know what they say about good fences?"
they make good neighbors, ha.

We have a running joke where she call's me her favorite child. LOL even bought me a shirt. So, we get along really well, and she does not get in the middle of things and keeps her opinions to herself even if there is an argument or something. So it works out well.

my wife's aunt is like her mom at this point since both parents have passed. they are polar opposites of us politically ever since about 2020. (prior to COVID it would be funny going to their house cause she's always been liberal, but he used to be conservative. so I told them one time it was fun to watch them argue on the couch cause it was like real life picture in picture, streaming CNN and FOX at the same time
)but anyways if I'm hanging with them, I know well enough I'm not going down any political rabbit holes. I keep things lighter, and if politically dangerous topics come up, I keep to asking questions about science or humanity. I keep it gentler and I avoid arguments.
the ladies however... I swear my wife and her aunt will out of the blue just stick their fingers in politics bees nest to rile eachother up sometimes for no reason whatsoever
they do love each other though, travel together, we do happy hour together, thanksgiving etc so its not like there is a divider, but I have no idea why they have to start those fights ha. (well I probably do but whatever lol)

That's a real bummer man, I can't believe they didn't ensure they had the preauthorization from your insurance to do the MRI. Hope you get rescheduled soon enough.
Good to hear about the training progression though. And glad you get along with the MIL. I always got along with my significant other's mothers well too. I'm not sure how you would be in a long term relationship and not get along with the parents. The added stress that would cause!

Haha right, I think the conservative husband / liberal wife is a lot more common than most people think. My first marriage her father hated me, at one point put a hit out on me to have my legs broke by some of his thug security guys, it was a whole thing. I have a couple pretty wild stories from that period of time in my life. Especially from that situation... So surprise, we didn't make it.
