SOrry for lack of updates. New phone and never got around to updating links to my logs

Getting strong and recouping with the warrior diet.

This last week:
benched 675 clean to my chest
Squated 765 for depth easy in my briefs
Deadlifted 715 for a couple singles with 10 sec rest
Bent over rows for couple sets of 10 with 405 taken to mid shin
Some assistance and Gpp sessions bit fairly light mostly lot of coaching

Right elbow tweaked out bad but jet seems to be pain and not totally interfere ing with lifting.

Warrior diet eh? My hybrid version involves only eating what I can kill with my jaws. So far I've made it up to mid-sized dogs. The periods of fasting kind of work their way in naturally.

Damn…what a week.
Hosted the NORTHWEST POWERLIFTING CHAMPIONSHIPS at my gym last week. I’m quite happy with how it went, but as always a bunch of work went into it. I did get a couple workouts in prior to being overtaken with meet prep work.

Bench
Warmup then
405x6,5,4
And some assistance work I can’ remember

Squat
Warmup then (in briefs, no wraps)
735x4
755x2
[nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-h4Y6vgwBY"]YouTube- Squat 735[/nomedia]

I dropped quite a bit of weight in the days leading to the meet just due to activity level, sleep(lack), and food (lack). Decided to jump in with the Deadlift only on Saturday night and didn’t go to well.
Deadlift
Smoked 705 opener
Lost grip on second attempt going for 767.
Skipped third attempt as I had to get ready to present awards.

Bench on Saturday Morning Bench only meet.
Shirt was way loose due to weight loss and almost touched with 505.

Bench
639 opener
672 second for a picture perfect lift
705 third missed this one as my right elbow just didn’t spin quite all the way to lock and they finally called the rack command. As close as it possibly comes without getting it.

As for diet and body comp. things are going amazingly well and I must say I’m enjoying the Warrior diet and the results I’m seeing. For the most part (outside last couple days) my weight is staying the exact same but I am leaning out at a slow steady pace. And its starting to really show. I will have to provide an update soon.

i know i just competed the day prior...with a big press. But I had to swing by a bank across the street from the gym and saw some guys were training, so I dropped in to say high, then a little stretching, then a couple light sets...

Bench
45x10
135x10
225x60 over two sets.

The first set I was only planning on a couple reps and then about 8 reps i decided to see what I had. Hit close to 40 (not sure exactly as count may have been a little off at the start). Hit 23 on the second set which is a huge second set for me as its usually in the 10-15 rep range.

JM Presses
95x8,8,8

Overhead presses with Inverted Kettlebells
35x0,4,6,9,9

hard...I liked em.

Sled drags (rowing it and face pulling it)
x600ft

i'm a jerk

a friend bet me $20 bucks I couldn't bench the bar for 100reps. So took a quick break from work today an ran down to the gym/conference room at work.

stopped at 150... but made sure I laughed non stop the entire set :)

I didn't take his money however...figured the shaming was enough.

Felt like crap most of yesterday and today. Hoping it's just activity level this last week taking it's toll on me and not getting sick...which is going around at work :-(

Weights felt heavy, shoulders tight from this morning, and elbow still tweaked out and aggravated again after two days of benching.

Regardless of that the weights moved well today.

Squat off 16" box
145x5
235x5
325x5
415x5
Add belt
505x5

Free squat with briefs
595x3
685x1
755x5
[nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IovQK4wlP4o"]YouTube- 755x5 squat[/nomedia]
All a little high. Legs were swelled today and couldn't get briefs set all the way

Russian leg curls x6
Ghrx10
Pull thrux15

Didn't do much assistance as was moving 2 monos and 3 benches back in place after meet. This made my back tighten up a little more which started during squatting. Nothing bad just need to do a little stretching

Stupid stupid stupid ME!!!

Been out sick with this super nasty flu since last Thursday. Doc put me on antibiotics yesterday as he said it totally crushed my immune system and was turning into viral infection.

Well I actually started feeling a little bit better this afternoon so I thought about swinging by gym and doing a little cleaning. Then I thought about doing a little bit of kettlebell swings to clear out my sinuses.

Then after rocking out to some deftones on way to the gym

Squat
165x5,5
165+100chain x5
275+100chain x5
385+100chain x2
Add briefs
495+100chain x2
605+100chain x2
695+100chain x1
785+100chain x1
That one i got out of groove n hle but finished grinder the whole way
Add suit
895+100chain un rack and then took it in. Lack of confidence as weight felt lie it was going to crush me
850+100chain x1
Weight felt like it was going to crush me again but felt good as soon as I started lifting. Cut it way high however

Few hundred feet of sled drags

Couple passes with the 10lb sledge hammer

All in all probably some bad choices but my stupidity/insanity never ceases to amaze me

dang. been awhile since i updated this.

I kicked the flue but just as the doc told me it led right into a sinus infection with how brutal it was.

Aug 29th

At the tail end of the sinus infection I dropped by a local stronman competition (mostly crossfit guys) and they talked me into doing a demo for charity. Deadlift for dollars.

Deadlift - belt and straps
no warmup
500x25

took me about an hour to catch my breath i swear.

Aug 30th

Bench raw
405x6,4
and a some assistance work

Sept 1
Squat with Briefs
740+100 in chain x 1
this was hard. harder than it should have been.

Sept 4th
played around with my suit on the deadlift since i haven't used on successfully for over a year now. felt good...just wasn't moving much weight. Grip sucked but will get into that a bit about my elbow.

Deadlift
685x1,1,1

only one was a good clean lockout.

Hosted a bench seminar right after that so lots of face pulls and stuff like that done as demo.

Bench
225x30

Sept 6th
Bench
Blue band assistance
135x5
245x3
335x3
425x1
515x1
565x1
585x0
565x1

Checked band setup and I was getting 120lbs assistance at my chest and less going up.

DB Band Presses
#5 band +100ers x 12,8

Flys on rings x10

Pushup on rings +100lb plate on back x8
w/45lb plate but up on traps x8,8

Ab starfish thing on rings....similiar to Wheel O Death but hit obliques better going out with hands and legs.

Kettlebell Side raises
lost track.

Other

My elbow seems ok lifting and pressing but during the day to day activities becomes completely non functional. For awhile the pain was incredible. Lot of heat and a compression sleave on pretty much all day to keep it somewhat mobile.

Doc wants me to go in for MRI but insurance doesn't want to cover since I haven't tried NSAIDS and and Xray (WTF!!!!!). Had some active release done last night and it did help a small degree. Would love to do that a couple times a week right now...but my new insurance sucks so its all out of pocket.

It has progressed positively a little this week and has at least quite locking up and then "Pop"ing loose/free again.

little fustrated.

A couple grainy cell phone images. Definitely leaning out. sitting at 228.

Squat
Moved my stance in about 6-8” on each side to feel how it felt.
165x5
275x5
385x5
495x5
550x3
Felt real solid for being raw and could have done a lot more reps
Add briefs…and this is where the narrow stance didn’t work.
605x1
672x1
672+100lbs chain x 1
760+100lbs chain x 0
737 x 0
I did go way to deep on that last one but still disappointing

#4 band resist x 12, 10, 8

Jumping over Fire
Mud pits

Ok major update here.

I tore the sternal head of my pec off where it attaches to the shoulder. I did this while doing an iron cross on the Rings last Monday night after my bench training session. I was just playing around and being stupid. I have never done one of these...probably weigh to much to do them... And was severely pre-exhausted when I did it.

Worked up to a 405x5 raw bench warmup then 650x3 to my chest in the shirt followed by several sets of dips and flys in the rings

I met with a couple surgeons this week an had an MRI done this morning. Tommorrow I meet with surgeon to see if it will be repaiarble.

Here it is happening. Watch left shoulder and you will see shock run through it after it rips.

Follow up with surgeon today. Turns out that I had torn off both my sternal AND clavicular heads of my pec. *It took three mounts to the bone to reattach both heads. *The doctor is still baffled as to why there was no retraction at all and this is why it wasn't visible at first analysis as it looked very minimal. He said the lack of retraction is probably why I experienced no pain outside of the first day following surgery. When he went in it was all just sitting right there.*

the lack of pain is good. Both heads tearing off is bad. I will be in the sling for 8 weeks total now before rehab begins.

I've been using the 1 & 1.5 and Captain of the crush gripper along with the Ironmind red (heaviest) finger extension band.

Have a bit of a cold right now but as soon as I'm over that I will be starting with some sled dragging and and maybe some one handed kettlebell and battling rope work. Developing the conditioning of a champion begins.

I've been mega dosing with Super Cissus and have a few other healing items up my sleeve. I will be using the tens on the pectoral muscles (not on the attachment end) and doe some scapular retraction as well.

added a belt today as abs and low back fatigued from prior days work.

Not much...but something. The thruster was recomended to me by a friend for recouperation so I just wanted to see how it felt today with no weight and just going through the range of motion. I really like it, felt like this will be awesome once I can transition to weighted movements.

This is the Thruster...not me ;-)

Also had the trailer on my truck yesterday so thougth I would pick up some tires for the gym.

since i'm sharing pics, this is why i had trailer on truck...was getting this out of storage and back to my shop since I finally don't have it filled with gym equipment...now hopefully to get it finished.
