agree 10000% In order to train for grappling you must grapple!!

You wont believe the amount of guys at my gym that run on the treadmill nonstop..

Running on a treadmill works you aerobic energy system but this isnt the system you use primarily when you grapple. When wrestling you will mostly use your anaerobic energy system.

Your on the right track JD.. keep up the good work buddy :thumbsup:

I'm gonna try to go 6 weeks no caffeine(but will try watermelon meso when it gets here), Today is day 1 which kinda got messed over because I didn't think I was getting a bunch of samples and they gave me some amino energy stuff so I added it in to Purple Psyko/AXcell mix for my fasted pre-workout, which I will be starting in 15 min.

That's what I've been trying to do with caffeine, cut back on it short of meso. My morning coffee has been replaced by morning tea and then Meso at the end of the work day. Granted there's still caffeine in tea, but not enough to give me the major 2pm crash.

But now I am back to my 1 morning cup routine along with 1,3 Dimeth :p

I've seemed to be addicted to pre-workouts, the last 2 years even on my off days I seemed to have a scoop every morning just to get out of bed lol, now when I started using Meso I went to half a scoop of course and gives a hell of a nice wake up call aha

Now on my off days I've been using 3 caps a phenadrine, ya I need a break lol

The stack I'm using now will be great for getting off stims.

Grappling went good, was surprised how good my cardio felt, the Ultra Corgen V02 is some good stuff! This is only my 3rd time rolling since my injury so I was shocked how good I did, I need to take some time this week to get a 3-4 hour session in just doing drills, The tourny is April 16th, I'm not 100% sure I'm going, but thats what I'm training for and it will motivate me more!

This will be my 4th tourney, I did sportmma at 185lbs in 2007 got 3rd, sportmma at 185lbs in 2008 got 3rd.

Last one I did was Aug 23rd 2010, at Bushido Grappling Championships got
1st at 185lbs.

I'll do 185lbs again but my end goal is to be 175 and compete at 170, I feel I'm really strong and fast at that weight.

It's a nice rush competing, after the tourny I'm going to be training for my first amatuer fight, it will be at 170.

I'm hoping I can get a few mma fights in by the end of the year, would love to get an amatuer title shot at Hybrid fighting in Quebec, a lot of my training partners have been competing in Hybrid, lots of good competition, my good friend just had a title fight 4-5 months ago in hybrid at 145lbs, he dominated the first and half the second round then he popped his shoulder right out of place and torn it bad, ended up getting RNC right after it popped out. Injuries suck, But he will be back!

Ouch, that sounds painful :ouch: Yeah injuries really suck, especially if they happen during a title fight :(

Well my buddy isn't going into the tourney now so I don't think I will either, I'm still not able to do wrestling due to my back and even tho I won 1st last time I still wasn't 100% like I wanted to be, I'm just gonna take it slow, I want to get down to 175 and compete at 170, thats where I feel my best, I'm going to focus on getting to 180lbs and feeling really good get everything sharp and then get it into high gear and cut up a little more and compete.


I felt good today, I'm really gonna work on getting my lower back stronger starting Monday, I will try and get better at hypers and back extentions.
I always rush into things, I'm just gonna take my time for once.
 
Too bad you ain't gonna join the tourney :( But as you said, no need to rush it since you don't feel 100%. It would only be a gamble on getting hurt or not :)

I was gonna do a workout this morning but got a little caught up so just added on some boxing into my grappling workout.

Grappling went really could first round was crazy, but one of the guys into a very tight triangle and he didn't tape so he went to sleep, the way he was breathing I thought he was still fighting it but when he started spitting I was like O **** and let him go he was right out for a good 30 secs, freaked the **** out of me lol, I layed down and put his head on my lap he woke up and thought he was in bed at home lol. Always better to tap in training and leave the stubbornness in the cage lol

Rolled a guy tonight who won 1st in my division that I got 3rd in 2008 grappling tourny, it was a good match, tapped him out in side control with a kamura using my legs. Pretty good night, diet was good, tomorrow I will do some laps at the pool and I'll see how I feel after that.

Almost 8 days with no caffeine, I had caffeine at work Sunday because I took the morning shift and only had 1 hour of sleep.

Yesterday I did grappling, some how managed to really strain my left lat, freakin killing, it feels as if someone kicked it dead on with the shin, got no bruise but it sure feels like the muscle is bruised.

Def sucks, kinda wrecks the workouts for this week. So guess it ends up being not the best week of training and damn I have gotten slammed with a crazy amount of bills! I work as a secuirty gaurd part time and I only get paid minimum wage and they make us pay once a year for a secuiry test and license, I can't believe how much this job makes you pay for $10 an hour lol. Hopefully monday starts off with a great day of training.

don't complain-$10 canadian is probably at least $15 american. the american dollar is sinking fast.

I'm really starting to wonder myself what I did, I've never had a muscle in so much pain before, my left lat is really swollen now and I can't even take laying on my back or left side in bed, I'm gonna have to sleep on my right side. I can't even touch where it's all swollen without cringing LOL

I tried to eat a lot today, freakin crazy how fast my body puts on water, I was 190 yesterday morning and tomorrow morning I'll be at least 195-196 :(
