Irish Cannon Gets on AXIS...with AXIS (Hemodraulix + Kitchen Sink)

who are you staying with in p-cola? i might be making a trip out there this weekend to visit some other buddies. we might have to actually get together like we have been saying.

Won't be lifting again until Monday where I'll be starting my first DC workout. I'm actually excited for the weekend; I hope it's fun. I'll most likely be going out to watch UFC 100 with some people from class.

Good idea resting up before DC...have fun bro!

Ya, it's pretty standard. I have been taking the weekends off. I got today's workout in yesterday, so I have today off.

I'm trying to cook up all my stuff and pack all my supps for the weekend. Bodybuilding is a chore, but I love it! :) - I love being prepared for a long weekend.

UFC 100  Mir over Lesner (at least I hope)

Lesnar over Mir I hope.

I dont really have a problem with Brock, but as an MMA fan (have been for years, I grew up on Bruce Lee movies) I just don't like what it says about mixed martial arts if a dude is just so hyyugge that no one can beat him.

Having said that, Fedor would break one of those big legs right off :sgrin:

I hear what you're saying. The Mir/Brock issue is subjective to philosophy. If Mir wins, it's seen as a win by MMA talent. However, if Brock wins, it's seen as someone who was simply too strong, or a non-MMA based win. But, Brock isn't just a strong guy, he's got a legitimate background as a D1, national wrestling champion.

Guys who are all size & strength with no talent, look like Bob Sapp. Brock is no Bob Sapp. Sapp looks pathetic & lost when he fights.

Technically speaking, Brock brings the same background to the table as Matt Hughes did. Only Brock was even more elite & accomplished as a collegiate wrestler.

Brock does have an advantage in his fat free weight over his opponents (at his heavy weight class), but that's when you can get into a philosophical debate. The heavy weight class, without a super heavy class issue is just what it is. Brock's skeletalmuscular, physiological advantage is not earned through training pers e, so does that illegitimize his arsenal of "talent?" Consider Anderson Silva's uber long legs, where he has a spider guard exclusive to how easy and from what positions he can pull it off. BJ Penn's joints are freakishly flexible and people have a hard time doing single leg take downs on him.

Again, Bob Sapp, even bigger and arguably even stronger then Brock, in terms of ability to lift weights, but Sapp get's smacked all the time and by little Japanese dudes at that on occasion. So size & strength alone is not enough in MMA.

Granted, I believe Mir is a more technical fighter on the ground, under the scope that BJJ is generally more respected as a technician's discipline in comparison to wrestling, but Brock's ground skill is legitimately elite, and his athleticism is a legit element of MMA.

Look at GSP/Penn. That was a perfect example of The Athlete vs The Technician. Everyone knows GSP as being the amazing athlete, and that athleticism is given the root credit for his TD efficiency, wrestling and power.

I'm not trying to persuade you to "like" Brock, I don't think you need a "good" reason to like or not like anybody. I dislike Mir based on the fact I think he's a complete douche, not because of anything MMA talent related, but I did want to defend Brock against being categorized with Kimbo Slice or Bob Sapp.

Brock was the top dog in the nation of D1 collegiate wrestling at one time (he was #2 [as a sophomore] one year and #1 the next), that's a legit resume, and a resume relevant to MMA. People keep calling Brock just a strong guy and that's not the case.

and yes, Fedor ****es on everybody & everything MMA, hands down. He's in a class of his own. If you think I tire swing on Brock's nuts, don't get me started on Fedor.

My main boy, apart from Fedor, is BJ Penn, so that loss against GSP killed me. My old favorite, even more so then Fedor, was Mirko, before he forgot how to fight.

When Pride FC was alive & well, I hardly even bothered with the UFC, all the best fighters were in their prime during the Pride days. Now, with the exception of Anderson Silva and Rampage, everyone else who crossed over from Pride to UFC have severely disappointed [Mirko, Noguiera, Wanderlei, Hendo].

Before Mirko sucked and was my number one guy.

Volcom, I do hear what your saying also. And when I think of Brock Lesner, now way does he remind me of Sapp. You're exactly right there. He does have legit skill.

But as a personal preference, I just like more well rounded fighters. I think it incoporates more of what MMA is all about. I'm just not personally fans of guys who only are skilled in one area. BUT, it is still early in Brock's carrer and Lord knows he is far more rounded than when he first fought.

For example, the days of Gracie and Hughes are over. You have to be good at everthing now days or you will fall behind. Look at all the the weight class champs, while some may black belts in BJJ, they are highly skilled in everything.

But like I said, I do see your point as well. So I dont really see it as a "MMA Loss" if Frank loses.

One more thing, I know you think Frank is a douche and I happen to think Lesner is a douche. But if I've learned one thing in all these years, it's that most all fighters are "douches" before fights. Frank is ****y, I'll give him that. But I also think he is is a VERY smart fighter.

BTW, who do you normally pull for? I'm a big BJ Penn and Ace Franklin fan myself.

I hear ya. The MAIN reason I like Fedor so much, is because he's so well rounded. He's patient on his feet and collected on the ground. He can knock you out with sheer striking power, but his ground game is even more dangerous. Not only do I think he's about as complete of a fighter as you can get, he's also super classy & humble, which I highly respect (and ironic considering how much I like BJ Penn).

For example, the days of Gracie and Hughes are over. You have to be good at everthing now days or you will fall behind. Look at all the the weight class champs, while some may black belts in BJJ, they are highly skilled in everything.

Yup, that's why I think Chuck Lidell has become obsolete. The sport evolved past his two part game plan. TD Defense and counter hay makers.

That's true. I think when you're not a fan of a fighter, you only consider their pre-fight personalities and don't care to delve into their post fight/daily life personalities, so I have a really bad, general impression of Mir. I respect his work ethic, but it's the things he says that come off so arrogant that bugs me, but again, I shouldn't judge, it could be an act. Brock for example, off camera per se, is a really humble country boy. He works hard, respects the sport and is actually a really humble guy. He's eager to learn and improve and realizes he has a ways to go. His main vice is that he still carries his business man WWE mentality where he feels he needs to sell his character. Charisma is everything in his past business, so if anyone ever had a dual persona on & off camera, it's Brock.

BTW, who do you normally pull for? I'm a big BJ Penn and Ace Franklin fan myself.

BJ Penn is definitely one of my top 3.

I actually feel bad for Bob Sapp in a way. He's admitted on a few occasions (to American press) that he hates fighting. "It hurts and I just don't like it," but, it makes him a huge celebrity in Japan and he gets cheesed out. I think most fighters get into the game because they love to fight, and the money follows their passion if they're good enough. For Sapp, money was why he got in and money is the only reason he stays. It was suppose to be temporary, one time, money shot, but the Japanese loved his freakiness so much, that he found himself in a position to make a financially blessed career of it, but he's probably the most miserable fighter in the world, because he hates it. He seems like a nice guy, too.

I'm sitting in class right now drinking Waffle House coffee and reading Drudge. I had horrible sleep, but my diet was on key pretty much all yesterday. We'll see how it is tonight. I may get a hotel room; my buddies got a couple new dogs and they are pissing me off way too bad. If I don't find somewhere else to sleep, there will be bloodshed.

I walked into class yesterday, started digging into Meal 4; my prof started talking and then he said we were going to do introductions and he goes, "We'll start in the back." and then pointed at me - I had a mouthful of broccoli and everyone was staring at me. My prof then goes, "Uhhh" swung his hand around to the other side of the room and said, "We'll start on this side." - He got around to me and said, "Done chewing?" - Fortunately he knows me from another class and it's all good. Haha

haha thats awesome!

IC, I hope you don't mind me posting a link to my log here. There's a lot of people in here that I would love to have sub in.

Starting the Cut...

Well, I'm back in town, and tomorrow marks the start of my cut. I really hope everything goes well with it. I'll be making my NP order tonight, and I'll let you guys know what I get; it won't be anything too crazy. Probably just my basics and maybe some RK-500.

The weekend was actually a lot of fun. I didn't do too much after class on Friday night, but after class on Saturday I went to a baseball game with a few people, then dropped by a buddies place and had some dinner with his family and a few others, watched the fight, drank coffee, did some other stuff - Woke up early this morning and grabbed breakfast with a few people before class. - Went to lunch with a chick and came back to the school and watched a South Park episode on my computer before class started (the one where Cartman is the hall monitor).

It was a good time, and surprisingly I stuck to my diet very well. I packed enough food for 2 days, and then today I went a little easier on it (Subway, etc.) but have still kept to everything quite well. :)

Tomorrow is the start of Smash Fully Loaded and HMB.

"You litterin' my hallways, bra?!"

Speaking to Butters: "I got nothin' against you, bra, but I had to bring you in...Smoke?"

The girl, myself, and my buddy were watching the show, and as people started coming in from lunch, they started crowding around my computer to watch it. Ha. - Hopefully I've enlightened someone to the comic genius that is South Park.

My top 3 have to be the world of warcraft, one where butters is "bi-curious", and the one about cheesin. Great shows lol

Inarius had nice results with it..but his training style is all over the place it was prob hard to judge lol...Id ask him what he thought of it

Heck, here's my list so far...

ADAM
Elite 12hr
Renegade balm
Relora
L-Tyrosine
Natural Sterol Complex (this is a maybe)

So far that's it, and I don't plan on adding much/anything more.

dont you just love the renegade balm? at first i had mixed feelings on the smell, but now i like it. and the confidence/aggression boost in the gym is awesome.

I don't know if I like it yet, that's why I'm getting more. - I don't even think I'm running too low, but I'll get more anyways. - I can't say I notice too much of an increase in aggression or not, but yes, the smell is actually pleasant to me now. I used to not care for it, but for some reason, I actually really like it now. - AXcite smells great, but that stuff is just wayyyy too pricey. Definitely won't be buying more of that. - Renegade is so much more versatile it seems.

How long will 50g of HGW last me? So many people recommend it in place of Icariin that I'm going to try it. Should I get 100g?

Relora is good stuff. Will get rid of some fat that just refuses to go away. Awesome mood enhancer too. Just be careul when you go off make sure to ween yourself off. Can have withdrawels for like a week or so. What dosage are you looking at?

DC Workout 1

Pre-workout:

5x I-GH-1
10x Hemodraulix
1sc Smash Fully Loaded

Waited around for 15mins, headed to the bank, and then to the gym. Probably started lifting about 35-45mins after dosing.

Workout:

A1 - Chest/Shoulders/Triceps/Back/Traps

Incline BB Press - 155x 15,12,10, RP-Set: 185x 8-->3-->2 = 13 total reps

Seated front smith press - 135x 14,12,10, RP-Set: 145x 8-->3-->3 = 14 total reps

Dips - BW+45x 15,13,10, RP-Set: BW+60x 9-->4-->3 = 16 reps total

WG Pulldowns - Don't remember

HS Low Row - Don't care

BB Shrugs - Did good

I'll update the other stuff later. I don't feel like looking at my log book right now. It was a real good workout and I had a nice pump. I hope to be DOMSy tomorrow morning. Wednesday is my next workout.

SFL Impressions Thus Far

Taste was great. I would say it was extremely similar to the Orange flavored Gatorade. - I have the Tropical flavor, BTW.

Energy - Meh, not much. The stim concoction is a little mild for me but that's fine. I don't look to these products as a stim boost. If I want one, I have plenty of pills. I'll be adding HGW to my pre-workout stuff, so that should help with intensity.

Pump was great.

Endurance was pretty good.

A lot of people using SFL report better effects over time, so I'm excited to see what's in store for me.

Withdrawals? As in depression?

Quick update before I do some chicken grilling...

DOMS in chest/back/traps/delts, but only minor in triceps. Feel pretty good this morning. No workout today. I may make my NP order tonight. I still haven't finalized it yet, but I decided that I won't be getting the Sterol Complex; Met showed me a thread in the Uni section on it, and they've come out with a new formulation. I don't want to buy the old stuff if there is new stuff coming out.

Relora is a maybe, now.

IC, did you throw the trap exercises in there yourself? Or am I missing something by not having any trap excercise?
