Regarding Nutricost, from what I can tell, they may be the private label offering of Elite Manufacturing & Packaging. Elite appears to be a turnkey supplement manufacturer. For example, I can see from some US customs data that they just imported 15,000kgs of 2:1 Citrulline Malate from Hubei Hoyo out of China. Makes sense they can sell it for quite cheap through their own label (Nutricost).

Semi-related, you can see some other supplement companies located at Nutricost’s address, 351 E 1750 N Vineyard UT.

So my assumption, which may be wrong, is that a manufacturer of supplements for other companies created their own label. Through economies of scale, they’re able to offer individual ingredient products quite cheap, because they’re not paying a middle man to actually manufacturer the supplement. Most brands outsource the actual manufacturing and such to a 3rd party, as the manufacturing needs to be done in a GMP-compliant facility and not someone’s basement.

Now, regarding quality, I can’t speak on that front as I’m not an expert. Just from a supply chain perspective, Nutricosts cheap prices don’t immediately scare me away. Personally, I tend to try and get my staples like Creatine and protein from NSF certified sources anyway.

is that life extension brand reputable? i bought some stuff from them but just not sure.
I can’t speak for anything other than pomegranate complete as I’ve never used anything else from them, but this has been in my arsenal for a while now. It was the supplement that finally helped keep my BP in normal range (was never horrible, but still higher than normal), even on blasts. I’ll use it as long as they make it or until SNS comes out with something equal or better.

Second (or third, fourth) for Life Extension. I've been taking their B complex for years. They usually have the more effective, bioavailable versions of ingredients in their products.

I switched from Life Extension caps to 5oz POM juice daily for some months now; it was pretty affordable & tastes delicious.

Wife, I still use the LE caps for because she isn’t going to measure & drink juice daily .

I've seen a lot of people trash POM. did you check bp to make sure it's working?

I buy the half gallon bottles at Sam’s about every other week.

Not relying on fruit juice for blood pressure control I take Ubiquinol, Pine Bark Extract, Grape Seed Extract, & pure EPA twice a day for that, and on blast add Nattokinase and Telmisartan in once daily.

Pomegranate can have positive bp impact, but the real value is up to a 30% reduction in EXISTING arterial plaque. It’s the cardiovascular anti-inflammatory action you want to help ward off atherosclerosis.

Also look at eating a serving of dates daily if you want to further forestall heart disease.

This is exactly why I started taking pomegranate, to help with arterial plaque. But my BP dropped after adding it, so now it’s staying in the rotation. I add in real pomegranate juice (not from concentrate) while on blast to further help with arterial health as well. Actual pomegranate juice is what was used in studies, although I’m confident that one of the pomegranate extracts used in LE Pomegranate Complete is effective (for me). Ubiquinol is a staple as well, and I too add in natto during blasts.

Nice! Might have to pick up some my next trip to Sams! How much do you drink daily? 8 oz or less?

these things aww WAY too sweet. they could probably cut the sucralose in half. ill probably never buy these again

the fungreek seems a bit out of place
FYI, it's in Ketogenics Glucosatrol - from their web site:

Fenugreek is a wonderful and interesting herb with many uses. Its inclusion in Glucosatrol is because of its blood glucose inhibiting benefits due to its high saponin content. (34).

A meta-analysis that looked at 10 clinical trials concluded that fenugreek has powerful effects on reducing fasting glucose levels, 2-hour post-prandial glucose levels, and HbA1c. (35)

ok sure but with a side of estrogen right?

More like side effect of smelling like maple syrup.

When extracted for 4--hydroxyisoleucine I'm not sure I'd worry about any issues.
Lol so true. Maple Syrup smell is my 2nd favorite thing about Glucosatrol

But yeah the estrogen connection is one of the most over hyped things ever. I've been using fenugreek for decades and love the stuff.

The 2 studies that reference estrogen,
one was In Vivo (petri dish) on human cells and one on rats. I'm not a petri dish nor a rat.

But fenugreek extract may also act through aromatase inhibition, leading to decreased testosterone breakdown to estrogen.

I think this fear is similar to soy (broscience overblown) and even flax. I've been consuming flax meal and flax seed oil since the 1990s and even had some this morning ... Zero issues yet the internet bros also fear flax (fear lignans may act like estrogen).

Same thing with soy, in the 1990s soy protein Isolate was all the rage and boy did I consume a lot of it. Again, zero issues.

5oz daily is what the Israeli study showed to be effective to reduce and maintain the reduction in plaque. About 140g.

The bottle is 60oz, so about 12 days worth for $10.xx. I also love pomegranate flavor, so it’s always enjoyable to me.

Good to know. I like the flavor as well and have seen the POM juice at the grocery many times.
