Icariin + Nitrates - Dangerous or Not?

Hello,

I have been reading that Icariin is a potent PDE5 inhibitor and should not be taken with nitrate medication. I do not take nitrate medication, but many popular pre-workout products contains nitrates and some popular testosterone boosters contain Icariin, which begs the following question: Is it safe to take, say, RPM + DRIVE stack by Applied Nutriceuticals and Fierce by SAN or Pump-Bol by ThermoLife on the same day?

To be honest i mix nitrates, agmatine, and horny goat weed on my lifting days. pumps are unbelievable

3.5g creatine nitrate, 1.5g agmatine and 1.5g HGW (20% icariin)
 
I at times take a heavy dose of creatine nitrate pre workout and dose Drive+RPM pre and post workout and have not had a problem. Are you on any type of medication and what other Supplements are you on?

I'm out of the office on my cellphone now but I could research this further for you and post back with an update for you. From my own experience you should be fine but to be cautious you could dose as far apart as possible if it worries you.
 
Is your creatine nitrate in bulk or mixed n a product? Id love to find it bulk
 
Yeah. I'm hip to those guys. I'm running bcaa nitrate right now as well as their carb blend. Great stuff. Thanks bro

I don't think I would say Icariin is a "potent" PDE5 inhibitor and I also wouldn't put nitrate medications in the same category as supps. That said, you can stack them together, but I would test how your body responds to Icariin and any product that manipulates NO. Start low and work up.
 
Nitrates are pretty strong if you take a hefty dose but those products you listed do not contain a dose of nitrates "I" would worry about. If you care for your health then dose apart or together and see how you react at a lower dose. If I dose nitrates or when I was on Androhard I would take less RPM and Drive since nitrates/androhard increase other products absorption rates.
